I have quite a few TS albums. This one is as good as her most recent stuff, with a bit of self-reflection peeking out here and there. Listen to it as an album all the way through.

This music collection of The Tortured Poets Department by Taylor Swift is artistic music entertainment throughout a multiple number of novel indie dance andor indie pop songs to where I prefer to allow myself more time to decide which songs I favor best. However I have to admit that the music collaborations where she performs with Fort Malone and Florence and the Machine coupled with both My Boy Only Breaks his Favorite Toys along with the song afterwards definitely take me on rollercoaster ride type of music listening journey though in a fun way in being curious of the muse andor muses inspiring those songs and others on this collection (especially on The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived, Alchemy and I Can Do It With A Broken Heart). However even if you are new to Taylor Swift’s music you might enjoy this collection if you enjoy listening to Ready For It, Cruel Summer, I Know Places, (because of the original indie dance and push the envelope in an adventuresome type of way with those songs, that similar imaginative spirit is channeled on this collection).

I believe T Swift is maturing into an older audience as we go along. It’s a good thing. This album is a step below the surprise record of Folklore of 2020. She does a really good job. Ya gotta get it, listen to it and decide for yourself. All I can say.
Let your ears decide. I’m still a CD/vinyl guy. So I had to get them all. Which I believe could have been done on one double CD. And or a double vinyl. I’m a vinyl collector of old. It’s too expensive to do now. When the record store sold them for $5.99, I’d buy most everything in my youth. Now that I’m retired, I’m more frugal. Release it in colors, if people want to have multiple copies. Adding one song on another album is a bit much. 2 CD’s probably would have covered everything including the extras Taylor surprised everyone with. But, she’s at the top of her game, and the kids are after more than just the music. I get it. I’m a RUSH nut from the golden years of rock. Peace Everyone.
Edit: See a lot of people complaining (rightfully so) about the (secret) Double Album. I think it’s best from a consumer point, to not jump in when she releases an album. Maybe wait til it’s released. Cause I bought all CD’s for my granddaughters, except for Manuscript because it was sold out. So I bought it on Amazon. Which allowed me to download it when it was released on April 19th. By buying Manuscript, the entire Anthology was also on my iTunes account the next morning. Here’s what you gotta realize, and this is coming from a 61 year old man, getting these CDs for my Granddaughters and myself (of course). In today’s day and age, and with how everything is expensive, and rich people need more money, cause a Billion isn’t enough, and neither is $256 Billion (ask Elon 🙄). Just get a cheap or older iPhone (Samsung) and get a monthly music service and rent the music. And here’s why: I’m 61, when I die there’s 3000 CDs and 2000 albums, and Blu Rays that will be left here. That more than like will be sold at auction for pennies on the dollar for what I paid for them all. I love music, and if you wanted it, you had to buy it. Now, you don’t. Cheap phone, iTunes for $10.99 a month and you got everything ever made without all the CDs laying around waiting on you to turn old. You can’t take this stuff with you. Believe me it’s cheaper over your lifetime, to rent this music than to buy it. I get it guys and girls. It’s expensive, and I had no choice. But you do. Again, buy a cheap phone, get an affordable service and rent the music!
You’ll change as you get older, and something new may come along and you won’t have thousands of albums, cds, dvds laying to waste away. And if you want to come back to listening to music, just start paying the rental fee again. Don’t buy all this stuff. Don’t buy every new iPhone. It’s expensive, and how often do you need everything you have on your iPhone 15? I use texting, phone, iTunes, and email. The rest is 99% unused. I hope this helps you. Save your money, so you can retire early and enjoy your life. You don’t need all this stuff these Corporations (that aren’t paying taxes), is throwing at you. Just some advice, take it or leave it.

I am very fond of this album.
Every song has its own story to tell.

It’s a good album – a shift away from ‘Midnights’ and closer in sensibility to ‘Folklore’ and ‘Evermore’ (my two favorite Taylor Swift albums). I don’t buy what a number of national reviewers have stated that this is the start of a downturn for Taylor Swift. She’s still got plenty to say and she still does it with great originality. What I don’t like about the release strategy is the fact there are 4 different versions of the album each with one extra track. The album I received featured ‘Manuscript’ as its extra track. I subsequently bought another version with ‘Albatross’ as its extra track. In my view, ‘Albatross’ is the stronger song. I have not heard ‘Bolter’ and ‘Black Dog’, the two remaining ‘extra tracks’. Additionally, I don’t like the fact Taylor released 15 more songs on streaming services but they are not available in compact disc form (my preferred format). The most important thing is that the music is really good and worth the purchase.

I’m a fairly old (in age), but fairly new admirer of Taylor Swift’s lyrics. Anything from Folklore, Evermore, to TTPD has interested me. After many years when I felt a range from ‘not interested in the least’ to sort of negative, I decided to buy Folklore. It was mesmerizing. Turns out I didn’t care much for the silly-sounding pop tunes overplayed on the radio. There’s a lot to get out of her writing. I never found it fair when she was criticized for writing songs about her love interests. Every songwriter does deep dives into this subject. Greats like Hank Williams: Your Cheating Heart, I’m So Lonesome I Could Cry, Cold Cold Heart. Willie Nelson: Crazy, Hello Walls. Love and heartbreak are probably the number one subject in songwriting. It’s the human condition. Anyway, I like her writing, I like her large, interesting, sometimes archaic vocabulary. Maybe she will spark a real interest in reading classical novels and poetry. I hope so.

Prachtig album maar jammer genoeg is de CD-hoes kapot gegaan tijdens het verzenden want er zat een barst bij de sluiting waardoor het hoesje niet meer goed dicht kan

There have been many songs by Taylor Swift that I have liked, but this is the first time I ever felt compelled to buy the album. And I have to say, the first time I heard it I wasn’t that impressed. But the more you hear it, the better it gets. It is now my favorite album. She is so talented. This is definitely worth the money. Only thing is, The Albatross is not on this album. You will not regret getting this album.

… there’s always a personal discovery waiting for you in Taylor Swift’s tracks. I don’t have all of her releases (just the ones that felt relevant to me and where I was at), but I’ve found my grief anthems, guilty revenge pleasures, and heartbreak healers in her songs. TTPD is no exception; there is something for you here.
