I really love this Fretless bass. As an electric bass player for 35 plus years, this bass was an adjustment. First thing is to get a set of flatwound strings on there. The ebony Fretboard started to take scratch marks immediately with the provided strings. Second, the depth of the body and the new position of playing was tricky at first. But with some practice and then just jamming with some friends, I found that all the discomfort had disappeared.

It’s not very loud without amplification, so I say you will definitely need a bass amp.

Now that I’ve got some flat strings on there, she plays and sounds amazing. I can really get many of the tones a full double bass produces.

I would definitely recommend this bass. Quite satisfied, with the price I paid, that this instrument will provide years of service and enjoyment.

What a disappointment….Literally Heartbroken….This was supposed to be a Valentines Day present….and to make it more of a stab in the chest….during the replacement/refund process….it says “NO REPLACEMENTS AVAILABLE” …Aww man….At least I’ll get my money back..but I will need to search and find and possibly pay more for a replacement….it’s a lefty and I hope I can get another one…..at the end of the day it appears to be a result of poor packaging, poor labeling and complete mishandling …..no label on the box about fragile contents…..It is a beautiful instrument and I am sure it would have sounded great and played fantastic for years to come…..I COMPLETELY BLAME the UNITED STATES POSTAL SERVICE for this…..

As a rhythm guitarist forced to learn bass in order to serve the church band, I was grudgingly using a gifted Ibanez on Sundays. This bass popped up in my Facebook feed and I mistakenly ordered the fretless model. This was the second best decision of my life. I now pick up this bass before I pick up any of my guitars. Once I installed LaBella flat wounds I fell deeper in love. I play praise, Motown, blues, anything on this beautiful beast and it sounds great. Buy one and learn to play bass. If I can do it so can you.

It’s sound is definitely unique, a one of those impressive instruments that after tuning is a hitter. Got it with some questions on my part and the seller was quick, responsive and just great a quality product from a trusted seller, what else is needed. Remember that a fretless Bass needs to be played a bit different than a regular one, keep that in mind and you will just get a unique, rich deep sound that will get the attention you don’t expect.

The Bass is an amazing!!!!! I love every single thing about it. But what happened to the gig bag that comes with it? This bass is massive and I can’t find a case to fit it. I hate when I order something and something is missing. Very excited but very disappointed. ☹️

I recieved original order of my left handed Sawtooth bass on Monday 11/9. No gig bag included. I tried to convince the assistant at Amazon to just open another and send me the bag. He was gracious and knowledgeable but the only way I could get the “free bag” was to return the bass, and order another. Okay you win that is what I did. but I used the one that I received for my first music lesson. It is awesome in looks and sound. But now I have a left handed bass and another left hand bass on order and I have discovered that the right handed one is the one I need. ( ambidextious) So now I need to return one left handed bass, recieve the second left handed bass, return it and buy the right handed bass. BUT WAIT-LOW AND BEHOLD—Amazon has made a mistake! they have shipped me a right handed bass in error, and updated the error that says free bag with purchase to read free bag with REGISTRATION! The right handed Sawtooth Rudy Sarzo accoustic bass I received this morning looks amazing, sounds amazing, and is just what I needed! Thanks to Rudy Sarzo and Amazon!

I own 5 other acoustic bass guitars. I used to work as a salesman for much of my life, and I felt the Rudy Sarzo promotional video was well done propoganda …. unitl I recieved the instrument. Rudy’s excitement and seeming surprise on video MAY be real. Because every point he made is VERY legitimate. If you are considering buying one, and want to know what they are like, the viseo is VERY accurate, and pretty much fully on truth and facts. As far as a “thin” sound a couple have mentioned … It is rich and clean sounding, with enough bottom to be “right” … any more could become muddy. Yes, the maple is a clear and fast sound, compared to some tone woods, but I find the low “E” to be very rich and resonant. Just not boomy or fat sounding. I compare this to 4 other acoustic basses I own. ALL of them higher end choices. This one has quickly became my favorite to grab. I may even buy the fretless version as well. I also do not understand the comments about it being a lower quality instrument for the money. I feel it is a higher quality instrument for what you pay. Unless you are comparing this to a brand costing over $1500, it is as well made or better than any of my other basses. I was plesanlty surprised with the attention to detal, fit and finish, and professional set up. I bought mine from Amazon, with the knowledge I could return it for free. I found it over exceeded my expectations. Unless you get an instrument drastically different than the one I received, you WILL be happy with it!
