I’m an adult with a little violin background. If you don’t know how to set up a bow instrument and you don’t want to watch a lot of YouTube videos and read Google searches, don’t bother buying this cello. This cello is not set up!
It’s a fabulous cello if you know what to do or don’t mind paying several hundred for a luther to do it.
First, there are rough spots that need sanding like the nut grooves, bridge, fine tuners too may have pieces if shaved metal clinging. Once all that is done, then oil the fingerboard with tungsten oil to get the excess black film off.
Finally, lightly sand the shaft of each peg to dull the surface and apply some talc. The pegs hold great then!
Now toss the strings and get some good strings. If you pay under 40 dollars, they are total junk. Get the best you can buy. When you string your cello, make sure you wind them right and set the bridge. Many people have to clue how to wind a string on a cello peg or set a bridge.
Toss the bow, it’s garbage. Get a good bow, again, under 40 dollars is garbage.
Toss the head phones, garbage. Get good ones.
The company cut cost via strings, bow and headphones. All junk. But there is plenty of quality in the cello itself, which is what matters most. You can’t expect a decent cello and accessories at these prices.
If you put some work into prepping this cello and stick money into accessories, it’s a fabulous, good sounding, cello. Get a bass amp or keyboardist amp for it too.
My cello I received is structurally sound. The electronics, pick up/preamp are good. Not great but good. They can be upgraded.
The pegs, tail, bridge, end pin, are all very good too. Nothing wrong with them.
Considering e-cello’s start at over 1k, this cello is a really good deal.
IMO, most of the bad reviews are clueless people. And no, there are no instructions! It’s a musical instrument, not a coffee maker!
If you need instructions, don’t buy this and go to a store that also had lessons.
If you are a little familiar with bow instruments but don’t want to totally break the bank, this cello is worth buying…. If you prep it and get good accessories.
I’m not disappointed at all. In fact, I am completely satisfied and in my glory. 🙂
*I forgot to mention the gig bag. It’s useless. I would sooner buy a hard case before using this bag as it offers no real protection for the cello or bow. At home, I use a stand for my cello.

I had an issue ordering a used one that had a damaged box. The neck broke during delivery. But I was able to return it and get my money back easily and because of this issue I was given a coupon to buy a new one at half price. I actually made out better this way and I would love to thank the ones I ordered this from for the hook up. I love this cello. The original strings didn’t hold up. I never expect much from stock strings on any instrument. So once I got the new strings on and all set up, it couldn’t be any happier with this beginner package for a cello. Great quality for something so cheap. Sounds amazing plugged into my fender champion 100. Excellent sound. Its not so bulky with the electric body. I love it!! I can practice quietly when I’m not plugged in. I can hear it perfectly unplugged but its quiet enough where I don’t bother others while I practice. And there are so many things I can do with the sound when I’m plugged into my guitar pedals. Amazing!

Cello is pretty good, but I’m not pro. I reckon that for this price, I got a good beginner cello.
Strings are trash. Toss them away and buy new ones.
They broke.
I’m going to buy new rosin, too..also, headphones aren’t worth it.
Basically, buy for the cello/bow, but not for the rest.

I got mine today. Box came in pretty much perfect condition. The cello still had chipped paint and scratches, though. I could look past it because it’s in an inconspicuous location. The pegs don’t stay tight. The strings are so cheap and easy to pop even though the pegs go loose the moment you let them go. It makes no sense. I popped the supplied battery in and turned it on. The light turned on for a split second before turning right back off. I couldn’t even test it. Tried again and again and nothing would work. It simply won’t turn on. It’s useless without power. There is no instruction manual and the headphones pictured are not the headphones I received. I initiated a return. They can’t send a replacement. I have to wait for the refund and try again later with a different model. I’m so disappointed.

As a beginner this is exactly what I wanted and expected for the price point. Ours arrived in one piece contrary to other reviews. The tone coming from the pickups is actually pretty decent and the quality is not as bad as I was expecting. The bow is synthetic. So great for beginners. Bad for experienced peeps. The tuners take some push and pull to get to hold tune. But again you get what you pay for and we were finally able to get ours in tune and hold for the most part. Remember humidity and temperature play a big part even for cheaper wood pieces! Good luck, would recommend for intro beginners into cello. Veterans may find this unusable.

You get what you pay for. Physically extremely cheaply made, but sounds ok. If you’re used to playing classical cello, the physical shape of it makes it difficult to play and the chest piece is useless. The low strings sound great, but the high notes are pretty bad. Mine also came missing one of the fine tuners (waiting for seller to respond). If you‘ll be a lifelong cello player, it’s worth saving up a bit more and applying it to a nicer model. This also does NOT come with a speaker (I thought the black circle in the picture was a speaker, but it is actually rosin).

This is my first cello. I’ve played guitar most of my life but I’ve always been infatuated with the beautiful deep tone of the cello. I’ve researched and researched on different ones. Being a beginner I did not want to fork the cash out on a Yamaha even though I’m sure none other compare. I read a lot of bad reviews on this particular cello however all websites outside of amazon reviews rank this one at the top. So…let’s get to it…so far…
-it arrived before expected date
-it was very well packaged and had not one visible flaw. (I had read many reviews stating it arrived broken)
-it’s a gorgeous instrument. Photos on the internet do not do it justice.
-the sound quality it good. No issues so far
I will update in a couple weeks. I do plan on upgrading strings and bow however the current bow and strings will work perfectly to get the initial hang of the instrument. I’m really glad I took a chance on this instrument.
