Cello itself is great, but it came broken. Really annoying to pay 2,400 dollars on something, wait about a month, and it comes broken. The end pin can not be engaged because it is missing a spacer, making the dial used to turn the dial too close to the body of the cello. Only way I can play it is if I step my leg through the cello and rest it on my knee which is not okay seeing as I spent over 2000 dollars on it.

I’m a beginner, and this is my first cello. It’s sturdy. I’m content with the sound it produces, but I haven’t hooked it up to an amp. It was fairly easy to set up. I am satisfied with my purchase.

This is a phenomenal electric Cello!

I have played the cello for years. This electric cello is absolutely amazing, with no wolf notes. I love it.

I opted to purchase the Yamaha after much research. This has to be one of the best purchases I have ever made. The depth of sound is amazing and when playing it against other electric cello’s I’ve tried in the showroom you can tell the difference in quality of sound. This cello simply resonates more fluidly and offers consistent sound.
Silent for a cello isn’t exactly silent. I only mention this because people have asked and in reality what “Silent” means is that it is the Yamaha produces much less sound than an acoustic, even an acoustic fitted with a mute. Can you hear this when playing even without headphones or an amp? Absolutely. But unlike my acoustic which can be heard outside my home when I play, I can play the Yamaha with a door shut and its barely audible.
Excellent for trips when you don’t want to sacrifice practice time since it holds up to temperature and humidity changes better than an acoustic ever could (unless you have a carbon fiber cello).
If you play cello, love music and want to have even more fun this is something you should look into. I am certain you won’t be disappointed.

Great sound and great portability. This was highly recommended by my daughters cello teacher and we’re very happy with it.

I did alot of research before purchasing this cello. In my opinion, compared to several other electric cello’s, this one sounds more like an acoustic cello. They use a Piezo pick up , which is most commonly used on acoustic Guitars, and it’s located in a hollow chamber in the body beneath the bridge, which gives it more of an acoustic tone. It comes with an Aubert bridge. I did have to bring it to a luthier to set it up a little better which was $100, but worth it. It plays great and sounds great.
Not entirely silent when not plugged into an amp, but silent enough to practice in the middle of the night without bothering anyone.

Great instrument out of the box. Arrived from Japan in half the expected time. Very little setup to get started. Tuning took a little while, but everything works great. Came with everything needed to play, except the double A batteries.
