Purchased to replace a wireless mic that stopped working. There is a noticeable increase in sound quality. We use for in home karaoke and MCs for formal events and are extremely happy with this mic. Definitely worth every penny.

Its the entry level microphone from Shure. For the price you get the small microphone (I like that, its compact), a mic holder with adapter and a small pouch. It’s worth more than the price. This is a great buy. A steal actually.

This mic is a terrific value! Compared to other value-priced vocal mics I’ve owned or tried, this one is hands down the best.
As a karaoke jockey, I never put expensive mics in singers’ hands. After going through several non-Shure cheap mics, I bought this Shure PGA48. Now I own 5 of them. They’re the only mics I use for karaoke gigs.
Sound quality is surprisingly crisp, with good highs and lows. The mic performs very well when effects are adjusted on my mixing board. (I try to give every singer their best shot at sounding good, whether or not they are a good singer.)
The only downside I can find (and it’s really a non-issue for my purposes), is that there can be a little handling noise. However, this is greatly reduced with the use of high quality, shielded microphone cords. At my events, I leave all the mics for singers on stands and ask folks to not remove them. If someone does get feisty and takes a mic in their hand, it’s fine, though, because my cords are good. Besides, any handling noise is completely covered up once I crank up the song. I’d just suggest that if you purchase this mic, you also purchase a high quality microphone cord. If you do that, you really shouldn’t have any problems. And you’ll be very glad to have an inexpensive vocal mic that has such a great sound!

I hace used my first pga-48 microphone since 2014 with zero issues. I wanted to add another microphone to my performance, and was so happy with how this one performed while singing and playing Guitar that I bought another one for when I play the piano during my performances. I love that it has an on/off button and comes with a strong plastic mic holder and a separate pouch for holding when I travel to gigs and sounds great!. Seems like you just Cant go wrong with a Shure PHA 48 Microphone.

Microphone works as it should. Definitely a Shure quality. We use it for singing and it has a good bass sound. Compares with our more expensive ones. Will buy more to replace our aging microphones.
