I needed something that didn’t have a mic built-in, as it was messing up the audio when recording. This was perfect, and it is nice on the ears, even with glasses.

These headphones are used in a small home studio just as monitors so the musicians don’t get drowned by the amps and can concentrate on their own track. However, the sound is pretty good and they have held up to abuse. The physical fit/adjustment is good and the pads reduce extraneous noise. Nowhere near audiophile quality, but if you just need to monitor, watch tv, listen to music casually etc. they are perfectly adequate.

This headphone was listed as a child set. I am 5′-6″ and they fit my head perfectly. Many headphones have too much bass for my ears but these are just right. So, fit and sound were great for me and the price was under twenty dollars. The thin cables tend to come loose and lose sound so when I get a new set , I tape a small loop ( strain relief ) to the back of the earpiece. Makes them last longer.

I recently purchased the Philips over-the-hair wire headphones, and unfortunately, my experience has been quite disappointing.
These headphones feel very cheaply made. The wires are extremely thin, giving me the impression that with daily use, they would either break easily or wear out quickly. The overall construction doesn’t inspire confidence in their durability.
Sound Quality:
The sound quality is basic at best. In a quiet environment, they might suffice for casual listening, but in any loud space, they are practically unusable. The audio lacks depth and clarity, making it difficult to enjoy music or any other media.
Overall, these headphones do not meet the standards of quality and durability that one would expect, even at a budget price point. I would not recommend them to anyone looking for a reliable pair of headphones for daily use.

I bought these headphones for listening to my computer/ipad. Mainly music and news items on youtube and other media outlets. I like the price and the quality is good. The soft padding for the ears make them comfortable to wear.

This review is for the Philips headphones 2000 series no microphone no volume control black over ear corded headphones.
baught at $20 on july 23rd 2023
This review is written a week after buying, as I am returning them I can’t comment on its long-term durability.
the fit:
I have relatively normal sized ears, and these fit around my entire ear without placing any pressure onto them, they also fit snugly and are comfortable. Although it has 90ยฐ swivel its single axis vertical, this means it cannot cater to better fit your ears as with 2 axis rotation.
material:
These headphones are a majority plastic, and feel relatively cheap. They have a hard foam top that pulls on my hair while wearing.
Sound quality:
Parroting other reviews, I agree these headphones are quiet, except the bass which is much stronger. And when using an equalizer to turn down the bass volume I can tell that the problem is not with the Bass being to loud, the problem is that the speakers have genuinely awful quality when it comes to medium to high range frequencies. Any song that has little enough bass to not be drowned out sounds like I’m listening to the song through a walkie-talkie speaker.
They have very little noise canceling, although not advertised to have it, and can cut out a fan but not much else
Overall for its current price, i do not recomend these headphones. If these were like $6 then I’d say they’re a good deal.

Purchased these for my kids to use on the digital piano so they can play as loud as they want and not annoying the rest of the family. The sound is clear, maybe not as rich as the speaker on the digital piano but for the price range, I’m happy with the sound quality. They are very comfortable to wear and adjustable even for the smallest of kids. I tried it on my 2 year old and it fits well.

This is the at least the third Philips headphone I have purchased over the past couple of years. I have one higher end model with open back for quality music listening, a small wireless in-ear model for mobile phone usage, one on-ear model that got destroyed some years ago, and now this SHP2000. Primary use case is for silent play of our digital piano, and this looks like it will do the job nicely. I chose it because of my familiarity with the brand, the low price and the 1/4″ connector that comes with it.
Initial experience was very satisfactory. The large 40 mm drivers provide a great wide sound space, and while it does not have any noise cancellation features, the over-the-ear cups manage a bit of isolation and that helps. It’s very lightweight, very important for headache-free usage.
Maybe I’m being unfair at this price level (just under $20), but I hesitate to give this headphone 5 stars due to the quality of the material. When you’re handling it, you can feel that it is made cheaply to meet the target price point. Indeed, if you are after better quality, you can look at the Fidelio line or the SHP9500 model. In any case, I’ll come back and give it the full 5 stars if it lives through a year of active use with minimal damage.
