When I saw the active stylus version of my favorite gel pen, I had to have it. Thankfully, it was well worth the purchase. It works great with my Galaxy S9.
Amazon Customer –
Love using it it’s super comfy. So far even with daily use and two months of use I haven’t needed to change the nib.
RIP Toriyama –
I bought this about a month ago and I was looking forward to using a Wacom EMR powered pen that has reasonable comfort compared to what I use when inking my traditional works. I can say for sure that the Dr. Grip did not disappoint! By far the most comfortable Wacom stylus pen I’ve used to date. It’s a little on the light side, but compared to the other styluses, it’s heavier, which is good. Honestly I wouldn’t mind it being a few more grams, but easel lovers may not agree.
I could gush about how the pen feels all day, but it’s not perfect. For one, the pressure curve isn’t as free as newer Samsung pens, or even the built-in stylus from my laptop from 2017. It’s honestly just on par with the imitation Wacom pens that you can buy for cheap. Like, under $10 cheap. For the $50 I paid, I really expected it to have better sensitivity.
I also read that these were supposed to come with two replacement nibs and a nib remover tool. I didn’t get one in my box, so I’m pretty disappointed. I held off on this review because I was ready to give a 2 star review. But with that said, I think I’d be better off getting a Wacom One pen or a Galaxy S6 Lite pen and throwing a gel grip on it.
Of course, if you’re NOT using this for digital art purposes, then I’m sure you’ll be fine with this for something like eReaders that have notetaking functions

The tip of this thing feels really good on the screen. I can’t tell if it’s plastic or felt. It seems like a cross between the two. The shaft where the rubber grip and the base connect seems a bit flimsy so I tightened it really tight and it feels better.

The stylus part is fine but I paid $50 for a (pen) with no pocket clip ????

The endless search for the perfect stylus may continue but this is a solid entry. The weight is a little light but the feel in hand is great. Works like a styles should but itโs clicky!!!!

Love the feel of the pen and works great for drawing. Just wish it weighed more

I’m fairly certain this is going to become my favorite pen. I’ve been (and still am) a fan of the HOM I and II from Ratta. I liked the idea of a retractable stylus, and I’m a fan of Dr. Grip ink pens, so I thought I would give this a try. I wouldn’t mind if it was a bit heavier, but that’s just a personal preference thing. I do like very heavy pens, hence the HOM. BUT I also love a large grip size, and while the HOM is fairly girthy, the Dr. Grip is larger and more comfortable to grip. I suspect I will be reaching for this pen more often than not. It writes great. The feel of the nib on the screen is a bit like the Staedtler Noris Jumbo–a bit slipperier than the fantastic ceramic nib on the Ratta pens. Hope this helps. I hope the SN community makes this pen popular so they’ll keep making it!
