Logitech Combo Touch Detachable iPad Keyboard Case

I bought my new iPad (10th gen) at a Best Buy and had a chance to try the Apple keypad for it. I liked it but didn’t care for the $250 price tag. Did some research and found this one. I have other Logitech electronics in my home and have been pleased with their quality and ease of use so I took a flier and bought this without trying it out. I’m very pleased. It has the same functionality and feel and seems to be of equal quality to the Apple version. Though you have to tug a bit, the keyboard is easily removed from the iPad when you don’t need or want to use it. When mounted, the keyboard is held in place by a very strong magnet that self-aligns during the “mating” process. Both the keyboard and trackpad function nicely and it looks to provide better protection around the edges in the event of a fall.

One word of caution: If you use a screen protector on your iPad, make sure it’s precisely mounted (i.e., centered) on your unit. The frame that holds the iPad in place on this is a very precise and snug fit. If the protector encroaches the slightest bit into the frame’s territory you’re going to have to work a bit to get the protector to fit under it and not lift the protector off. I had to and did it by using the edge of a credit card to pry up the frame slightly.

i’ve only had it a few days and i can confirm it’s a solid product. my dumba$$ tried to fold the keyboard back like a regular case so of course the keyboard fell off (it ain’t designed to do that but that didn’t stop me from doin’ it anyway) and it hit the concrete floor. i did this twice in one day because i can be kinda dense sometimes. day 2 i had the keyboard laid out, using it, then picked up the tablet like i was gonna just swing it shut (not designed for that either) and the keyboard goes flying and hits the concrete floor. after all that the keyboard still works fine. then of course later that day I’m careless and knock the whole dang thing off the desk and onto the floor – ipad sustained no injuries. i have no idea how this’ll hold up over time but it’s survived its first week. is this better than the off brand models for half the price? i have no clue – but i will tell y’all i can’t have nice things (apparently) and it is me proof enough to still work after all that abuse and the glass on my ipad is fine. magnet for the keyboard is strong (for intened use), keys are responsive, slight lag on the track pad but not bad, no tapping the track pad (gotta press to click) but no big deal – shell for ipad itself is snug and all holes and buttons line up as they should.

no ipads were harmed during the course of this review.

This the 5th Logitech product I’ve bought in the past 18 months, showing the quality and value I find in their products. I’m using this keyboard with a new 10th generation iPad and am finding that it almost entirely lives up to what I expect from this brand.
Pros:
— Sturdy! Feels solid and secure as a cover for the iPad. The iPad fits very snugly into the case portion and it stays closed quite tightly.
— Like the Apple product it’s used with, it just works out of the box. No confusing configurations or extensive set-ups, it simply connected to the iPad and started working immediately.
— The cover is a textured plastic that wants you to think it’s fabric, but without the stains and wear that a fabric cover would suffer.
— The tactile feel of the keys is wonderful. They have a softened but satisfying click/snap when pressed, just like the wireless Logitech keyboards that I use with my PCs.
— The kickstand is infinitely adjustable with no pre-set, fixed positions.
— The keyboard detaches easily from the iPad when needed.

Cons:
— The edges of the plastic on the keyboard portion are somewhat sharp and rough with an unpleasant feel.
— The case closes so tightly it can be hard to open. I’ve followed the guidance on Reddit and tried opening the kickstand first, but the keyboard requires manual intervention to open (sliding a fingernail between the pieces).
— The most serious flaw, and the reason for only a 4-star rating, is that the keyboard occasionally loses its connection with the iPad. This requires physically detaching the keyboard from the iPad and case, and allowing it a moment to breathe before reconnecting it. This hasn’t happened often, but more than twice is a notable pattern.

I’d recommend this product after using it for a couple of weeks, but may revise the rating and recommendation if the disconnections increase in frequency.

Buena calidad

Have had this now for a month or two and loving it more and more. Really sturdy, excellent quality with a great outer textile feel to it. It does make the iPad noticeably heavier but that’s a small price to pay for the protection it offers (which is a lot more than the version offered by Apple which I also considered). This case is also significantly cheaper in price than the “official” one made by Apple but by no means inferior – quite the opposite. I’d rather have this one than the Apple version after careful consideration.
The keyboard is also very good with excellent feel in the keys, again not at all inferior to the Apple version. This case/keyboard (like the Apple version) does not need to be charged separately as opposed to many others on the market and is charged directly from the iPad. Can’t recommend it enough. So far I don’t see any downside whatsoever.
