I’m reviewing theÂ
Sanus MLF13-B1 Articulating Universal Wall Mount for 37-80-Inch Screen
Pros:
* Supports up to a 130lb TV (which I didn’t see in the Amazon product details)
* Excellent included instructions
* Everything to mount was included and well labeled for all kinds of different TV configurations
* Heightfinder website to help with mounting height is great (See the first Con though!)
* Well made and sturdy construction
* Supports a 100lb 50″ Plasma TV without any give/wobble
* Tilt, Swivel and arm range for easy adjustment, even after mounting
* Doesn’t block back ports and makes it easy to hook up everything after mounting with distance from wall
* Cost, when compared to other mounts, is pretty amazing and affordable for the range on this mount
* Using the instructions had everything mounted/adjusted/setup in less than 2 hours, with prior measurements and marks for drilling (for a layman)
Cons:
* There are at least two websites for Sanus mounts (Sanus Classic and Sanus) and neither seem to reference the other’s model lines for the Heightfinder web page tool, or anything else. A cursory glance doesn’t even show links, or references to another site without drilling down into Brands from Sanus. They have different sites for different Brands within their company and a simple model search won’t reveal all brands on their “main” site. This is a Sanus Classic model and thus you need that Heightfinder. Just doing a Google search brings up http://www.sanus.com, vs. classic.sanus.com which is what you need for this mount! So don’t get confused/angry if you can’t find your mount on the Heightfinder, you’re most likely on the wrong site. I’m not knocking off a star as this is an optional tool and most likely some mistake of my own, but… that was a bit confusing and I got worried the $99 I paid was because I got some kind of knock-off for a moment. Especially when seeing mounts on the primary Sanus site were $400+
* No printed diagram for bracket included, though it was mentioned in the instructions – but I believe you could print one out on their site if you need it. I don’t even really consider this a thing, but felt I should mention it for those doing first time install. It would probably help when initially configuring where to drill
* Having to mark 6 different sets of measurements because people can’t agree on how high the TV needs to be for adequate viewing?
The initial measurements were more painful than the entire installation of this mount, and probably took longer too. This was due to users, rather than any failure on Sanus though. Sanus actually made it exceptionally easy to adjust and measure. They have a website where you pick the make/model of the mount and it will tell you measurements based on how high you want the TV on the wall. As my Cons mention though, make sure you’re getting to the correct site for your model or you won’t find it listed in the Heightfinder tool.
It took one person to measure, drill, mount the bracket and arm on the wall, as well as put the brackets on the TV. It took two to actually lift and line up the TV bracket with the arm. This was mostly due to the size and weight of the TV, combined with the height of the mount on the wall. We did have a third spot check to make it easier to line up rather than blind fishing for the lip, though that wasn’t really necessary.
Once it was mounted and bolted in place it was ridiculously easy to adjust and move around for best viewing angle. They even included the Allen/hex wrenches needed to loosen the bolts for adjustment. I also recommend picking up theÂ
Precision Sensors Stud Finder Professional Deep Scanning LED Profinder 5000
 if you don’t have a good stud finder. This is an active stud finder that made locating the center of the studs incredibly easy for a solid mount. I bought it specifically for this project and will be using it a lot going forward.

The biggest problem is that Samsung (at least my 55″) requires that we install some cone shape spacer adapters. Doing so make it impossible to use the bolts that comes with the wall mount -either too short or too long- so I used instead the spacers that came with the wall mount. Everything seem to hold without any danger of falling off.
I installed the arm on the TV first, not as described in the installation instructions, seem to be easier that way. I put the two bolts at the buttom of the wall fixture first so it was only to screw them tighter when the arm is installed instead of trying to find the small hole at the back of the TV for the locking screw. Wire management is minimal, so you could see the cables from the side.
After it is only a matter of using the allen key to adjust the pressure needed to move the TV.
4 stars because the price is right.

Better price than any big box store, especially in Canada. Was dead simple to install, instructions were short and concise. Was able to have enough room behind to zip tie up my Satellite box and all of my wires to hide from view.

I don’t know why I couldn’t find more discussion of the problems with trying to precisely position a TV in a specific location with one of these mounts. I was trying to center a 52″ (diagonal) TV on a 69″ wall. The problem is, for nearly all of the mounts on the market, the studs determine the horizontal position of the mount, and therefore of the location of your TV. Yes, you can use an articulating mount to move it around, but then it is sticking out from the wall. I wanted one that was centered when in it’s default position, all the way back against the wall. This is one of the very few mounts where you can do that.
Even though I could see how it might work with this mount, there was no way to tell for sure, so I just ordered it. It was a breeze. The dual arms don’t fold perfectly to the mount center, so the TV is naturally offset to either the left or right by a couple of inches, depending on which way you fold the arms. That offset, plus the fact that the base is movable along the wall plate gives a really wide range of horizontal positions. My wall center is only one inch off of one the mounting studs, and I got it aligned so that when the TV is pushed all the way back, it’s perfectly centered on my wall. This mount could be used to center a TV directly on a stud if you want. Few other mounts can do this.
This mount is heavy, sturdy, and well made. Instructions were good, and installation was pretty easy. The only issue I had was lifting the 80 lb. TV in place by myself. It’s really a two person job, but I suspect this is the case with most mounts.

Idiot proof to install. Very robust. Lots of range of motion.
The last thing you will install is a little tiny set screw. Put a drop of loctite on it. You have this great big robust structure that completely depends on one tiny little screw that does not stay tight.
The only negative is that there are two bolts that clamp the arm to the wall plate from the bottom. The machining is super tight on the threads and not easy to get in. use a spot of lubricant. I purchased and installed 2x. Both had the exact same issue so it is likely a design issue. It would not deter me from buying again. This is well built and easy to install.

Straight forward installation. HD build quality. Easily holds a 55’ panel without sagging. Good value for the price.

. I mounted a 70inch tv weighing 88 pounds to this mount.. It works fine but retracting the tv can be a little tricky but after getting it right once you’ll love it.
This is the easiest way. turn the tv to the left and push on the bracket to the right after the bracket hit the wall then turn the tv to the right and push on it to the left.
If the tv is hard to pull out from the wall then slightly loosen the control arm bolts
Remember to secure the mount properly to the wall I recommend adding an extra 4 screws making it 8.
