I’ve used the Denon DCD-600NE CD player for a month and am very happy with my purchase. I bought it a bit hesitantly because the NAD C 538 I was considering was unavailable for months due to supply chain shortages and some of the reviews here hinted at quality issues.

In the month I’ve had it, I’ve been pleased with the warm sound of this player, the solid construction, and its ability to play CDs that skipped on my old player. I didn’t encounter any quality issues. A nice touch is that the display shows the artist and name of the song for MP3s.

A few nitpicks: I am not a fan of remotes for everything. This product could be better if the random play function and the pure direct feature were accessible by buttons on the unit instead of on the remote. It seems silly to keep a remote around just for these two functions.

Prompt delivery that arrived in great, factory sealed shape. One feature, that was included in my decision, and a plus, is the USB memory stick port that plays many different file formats, along with the plus of playing any selected folder.

Right out of the box my Denon DCD-900NE would not power up. I tried multiple power outlets, a quick-push of the power button, push-and-hold, remote control, etc. It wouldn’t power up. There was simply nowhere to go from there except to rebox and return it. The seller was good with the return and refund process but I will never NEVER buy a Denon product again. Whatever high-value, high-quality association I may have once held with the Denon brand is now permanently gone.

I was at first reluctant to buy an electronics product made in Vietnam as I was skeptical of the quality standards I might expect from the manufacturing sector there. But globalization is constantly changing the nature of these things and I told myself I should adapt to a changing world. Perhaps my initial skepticism was correct.

I actually attempted to purchase this product directly from the Denon website before buying it on Amazon as I’m otherwise not a big Amazon fan and prefer to buy direct when possible. Denon’s website was problematic to navigate and work with and I accidentally purchased the product three times while attempting to buy just one. I never received an order number or purchase confirmation but my credit card was billed three times. This was satisfactorily resolved through customer service, but was still an unreasonable nuisance. I’m done with Denon and will never look back.

They give you a remote but it doesn’t reject the CD! This remote is really for someone who has all Denon components. I don’t have any other Denon components but the remote does play, stop, pause, go back and forth, etc. I called to see if there was one that had the ejection and there is not. I thought that was weird.
Other than that I am happy with this CD player. I was happy to find one, especially at a reasonable price.

Semplice senza tanti fronzoli. Suono impeccabile. Ideale per chi cerca una qualità sonora, ma sconsigliato a chi cerca informazioni sul display.

There are several good and reasonably-priced CD players out there. The DCD is a little pricey but somehow I wanted it as the companion to the PMA600. The Denon literature plays up the analog side of things, which I quickly ignored by connecting a digital cable. However, it kept bugging me and so I tried it. To my surprise, the analog connection produced the better sound with practically no background noise. Choose analog mode and pure direct on the PMA, pure direct mode 2 on the DCD. And now it makes sense to have this player.

So this is my first new CD player in almost 30 years

My last player was a Kenwood player which was early 1 bit technology, Good sounding player but was getting a bit tired

Since then I’ve had various DVD players and they just don’t cut it and have nearly 2000 CD’s and still buying

Looking at how things have changed since my first Yamaha player i the late 80’s it was time to get a new one

I had researched much on line as I’m an audiophile of 40+ years and very tired of listening to computers

After much searching I decided on the Denon andglad I did.

Much to like about this player with it’s beautiful internal dac and focus on the analog outputs as I have mine connected to a vintage Marantz 2230 stereo receiver and primarily use head phones

Once I got the player 2 weeks ago and allowed it to warm up after being on the truck, Turned it on for the first time

From the start, the player had a warm analog sound that just get’s better as it’s played.

Everything is all there in glorious detail, with rock solid, tight bass, natural sounding soundstage, excellent mids and treble

The player itself is solidly built and no sense of cheapness about it

The other thing I like about this player and was a huge selling point is it’s gapless meaning music plays continoulsy without an annoying hiccup between tracks. Hugely important for classical and pop music CD’s with extended cuts but track inserts

As I mentioned, it’s getting on 3 weeks come this week and it just get’s better.

If one could truly describe the sound I would say a ‘digital turntable’ due to it’s analog sounding nature>

If you are looking to upgrade a tired sounding vintage player, the DENON DCD-600NE Compact CD Player comes HIGHLY recommended

Like I say, really early in this and would love to post an update 6 months from now

If you are looking for a good player, check this one out

This unit replaces a very old Denon multi-disc player. I play though coax into my Denon amp and the sound is great. Seems solidly built. When I bought the 900 it was only about $25 more than the 600. I appreciate having both optical and coax output (in addition to RCA) and front panel USB input. (My Denon amp has USB input but the plug is on the back – not useful when the amp is in a cabinet.) I sometimes put off-the-air recordings from computer onto a USB stick and play them through the amp. (I probably could play them directly from the computer using the amp’s HEOS.) Since I have a Denon amp I appreciate controlling both through one remote.
