I have had several Fitbits over the years. Everyone else in my family has an Apple Watch. This has many of the same features at 1/2 the price. PLUS. It will hold a charge for 3-5 days, unlike an Apple Watch. I’ll always go Fitbit.

fitbit + the app with premium is seriously so helpful when it comes to tracking your health. the information it gives is easy to understand, reliable and overall very helpful when it comes to prioritizing your wellbeing, changing habits and setting goals. i have not had the app without premium since i got a 6 month free trial with my watch (i’m about 3 months in.) so can’t speak on that.

the watch itself is waterproof, durable, has a great battery and very attentive to movements and heart rate. the battery usually lasts me 4-5 days of 24hr use. charging is super fast as well. be mindful that while the watch is waterproof, i have seen liquid mess up the heart rate monitor, including sweat. as someone who works out strenuously, this is something i’m mindful of and sometimes i need to take the watch off and wipe the sensor. overall, not a huge problem. i’m very meticulous about tracking my calories and heart rate so it is important to me. the steps tracker is very accurate and adapts to your stride. i love the in-app food tracker a lot as well, the information it gives is more helpful than myfitnesspal.

i’ve tried this with both android and iphone phones and love it both ways. i used to have an apple watch that died out on me and i’ve got no regrets on switching over because the fitbit app is much more thorough and connects well to my iphone health app. plus way better battery, and you’re not forced to keep buying overpriced chargers just to not destroy the thing. apple watch may be better when it comes to not keeping your phone on you but i’m not one of those people and i did not have service on my watch. the fitbit luxe does notify me of texts and phone calls when i am far from my phone. super helpful!

overall 10/10 product. great price, fantastic quality, long lasting battery, helpful and reliable stats. it is obvious the company really strives for quality and thoroughness with their consumer base in mind. love to see it.

    The Good
I bought the Luxe as a replacement for my Inspire HR (which suddenly went dead and was unrecoverable less than 2 years of normal use). The Luxe is great for basic step counts, sleep tracking (though not always accurate, more below), and telling the time on a bright, colorful watch face. If that’s all you want in a slimmer form factor than an Apple watch, this could be the device for you.

    The Bad
Where to begin. First and foremost, the swiping is unreliable and mostly doesn’t work on my device. I can swipe left and right, but only 1 out of 10 times does the up/down swiping work for me (and this is how you access settings and more detailed breakdowns of the day’s activities—pretty important). A hard reset usually fixes the problem, but this shouldn’t happen every time I try to swipe up or down, as a hard reset is also inconvenient since it requires the Luxe to be plugged in. I can’t do this on the go.

The heart rate monitor also seems to be less accurate than my Inspire HR was. During almost every workout I see numbers on my Luxe that are near my resting heart rate while I’m sweating and out of breath—a simple pulse check proves the number to be wildly inaccurate. I tested with a a second heart rate monitor that always shows me at ~60 BPM faster in these moments and that feels more in line with the level of exertion and a pulse check. This also will end up affecting Active Minutes measurements, so you shouldn’t rely on this device for accurate readings there either.

I thought sleep tracking would be smarter too. I recently took a trip to the east coast, so a 3 hour time difference for me. When I got home, I forgot to sync the time on my Luxe until the next morning (something I wish were automatic, but alas, this requires you to use the app just to show the right time zone). I slept ~7 hours, but the Fitbit app said I slept ~4, since the fall asleep time was listed in eastern time, while the wake up time was listed in pacific time. I can understand this error if the Luxe promised to only measure duration of sleep, but this device should be doing more than that (analyzing sleep stages). Where did the other 3 hours of sleep data go? Shouldn’t the software be smarter than this and adjust both my fall asleep and wake up times when there are 7 hours of sleep data to show?

Now at 14 months, just over a year and just outside the warranty, it’s stopped responding to taps and swipes altogether, and is basically just a watch now. After getting the same guidance from customer service again and again to no avail, they’ve offered me a 35% discount to keep my loyalty. But I will try my luck with Garmin now.

I mostly needed this to track my steps for two things.
A step tracker to use for a healthy wage challenge.
A step tracker to sync with my health insurance provider to earn $ money each month be reaching step goals. If achieve the step goal each month, I’ll earn $250. A year, and be paid to exercise, while staying healthier for my efforts.
    Win win!
The tracker also has other great features, it stays charged for a few days between the need to charge.
I like the slim, non bulky, non smart watch look. I forget that it’s on my wrist unless I need to use a feature.
I did buy different bands for it, I am not a silicone/plastic band fan.
A great health tracker, for a reasonable price for it’s features.

I have a tiny wrist — all of these watch devices are way too huge for my wrist — even the kid ones are too big. This style, which is now out of production, fits okay — the buckle is only an inch off of center even with the small band. As good as it gets, I guess. I am very happy with the device and its functionality and I LOVE the FitBit app! It has given me so much valuable info about my body as I navigate this 65+ age ordeal. The only difficulty is getting use to wearing it ALL the time — even to sleep.

I am a Fitbit fan. This Fitbit is a replacement for my first one that lasted for about 5 years. The luxe Fitbit is very slim and neat looking on my wrist. It has a much longer battery life than my first Fitbit. I use it not just for knowing the time, but for measuring my steps on a daily basis, indicating when messages and calls have reached my phone, and monitoring my sleep. I highly recommend this model. I had to replace the strap on my previous Fitbit a few times and expect I will have to do so with this one but that is not a problem. The straps are easy to buy and to fit onto the Fitbit
