I have been using DELL docking stations for decades as part of my profession. These bricks are undestroyable – except for the joint where the double-usb-c cable connects to the brick. I happened to have received one that exactly had this issue. The price reduction for a refurbished one, along with the comfort of Amazon to return if not satisfied justified the risk of me ordering this one. I ended up returning the docking station and using individual USB-C cables to connect my monitors instead.

Received product today. It wrapped in brown paper and rubberbands. No documents, packing slip, or anything (pic attached)
Simple device to plug and play. I hooked it to my computer and it said device could not be recognized. To unplug device and try again. If error persist, device may be malfunctioned. Not to quote, but along those lines. The device fan did come on when I initially plugged it in; its incredibly loud.
I unplugged the device power supply and the fan stopped. I plugged it in again and the fan did not come. I received the same error from my PC. I noticed that both the light on the box and the cord did not come on (pic attached). I thought maybe it was a weak connection, so I checked the cord to the PC. I notice that it was bent (pic attached) in comparison to the one previously owned (pic attached).
I will return the product.

After a year and a half of usage of this dock panel, I’m really diasppointed by the cheap quality of this item…
Knowing the price, I was surprised to find that the front USB 2.0 port stopped working this morning. It was only used for my headset usb dongle, which has always been in place and never moved.

This Dell dock was purchased to supplement our owner and all the office locations he’s at. We are working to put these docks in each office. This was a piece for our demo unit and it worked perfectly.

Neither of the display ports on this product worked. I tried with 3 different monitors and 3 different cables. All of my drivers/etc up-to-date. Took product to professionals here and they confirmed they could not get the display ports to work. Plugged my laptop into one of their WD19 docks, and everything worked perfectly. So, I’m very sure that this product is faulty. Am returning and expect to have my return postage paid.

I work remotely so having a spare docking station for my Company-issued was a great option because I work from 2 different homes, so this helps me a great deal so that I can simply unplug my laptop and plug it in at the next location without fiddling with other cables
