Didn’t save much money with the bundle, but the console is totally worth it, beautiful design, very comfortable controller, and the interface is awesome! after 7 years with the 360, i couldn’t go on with the microsoft company because i would be missing awesome games like Uncharted or The Last of Us, SO… I’M SO HAPPY I CHANGED to SONY! I have played the game for some hours, and since i didn’t played it on ps3 i cannot mark differences, but i can say the graphics of thsi game are out of this world, i was playing and i had to stop sometimes just to see how water travelled in the ground, it was just like watching a movie or seeing it in real life, and the story is awesome too, i sometimes think i’m in the game when i have to be walking extremely silent so zombies don’t see me! I’m just so happy with this game and this console.. it’s awesome!

I have played xbox for over 10 years but after comparing the two, the ps4 just stood out for better gaming.
Think of it as this way -(my way thinking in describing the two systems)
x-box1 is designed to be a family center where you can watch tv, play apps and gaming comes last.
PS4 is designed to play games 1st, then watch tv, play apps, etc… last
PS4 is designed for gamers, but don’t get me wrong, the set up is pretty easy to use for apps to watch netflix, youtube, etc…
The guts of the system is what makes it a gamer system, the only way you will do better is if you have a personal gaming computer designed and use that.
Con’s:
1. Not being able to remove app icons I will never use – (of course xbox does this also)
Update: Still the same and annoying, why can’t they tweak this like a home computer screen and allow us to put what app. icons on that we want to see.
2. The controller that you use has a light bar that changes color in the front – VERY ANNOYING and the only thing you can do is dim it.
Update: Still the same and still annoying.
3. I guess you can’t play some games from ps3 on it, but I don’t have any so not that big of a deal for me.
Update: They are slowly redoing the games and there is a much larger selection now.
4. the set up for the search function in the store, you go up and down from a-z till you find the first letter, then you go up and down till your second letter and so on, but try spelling out something out different and it well not let you because it limits the letters. I tried to search for Fall out 4 and it would just do Fall O and then would give me the letters U and T to finish it, It’s just really weird and needs to be changed to make it easier to search.
Update: Okay you can reset the search after each letter, when I wrote this I was still getting used to the system.
5. Your personal avatar icon, you have your choice of set icons of around 100-150. And you can’t change them, The one thing I am going to miss, I liked having a person avatar that no-one else had.
Update: still the same but if you link to your FB page, your icon there becomes your Avatar icon.
6. New Con.
Even if you disable the automatic updates and click no, the system still downloads them and installs them.
And once installed the only way to get rid of them is to delete the game and reinstall and make sure you are not connected to the internet
Unlike the Xbox 360 there is no way to delete updates.
I really hate this.
Pro’s:
1. Ease of setup, I plugged it into my tv with the plug provided, plugged in the power cord and it started right up.
Took me like 10-15 minutes to set it up -(and I was doing stuff like, going into the system and dimming the light bar, setting the turn offs, etc…, if you just turn it on and do the sign up, you will be playing within 5-10 minutes)
2. Being in the middle of the game and hitting the button, the game pauses and you can do other stuff like watch netflix or surf the web with the browser and then just click on the game and back you go.
3. You can take game screen shots with the ps4 and send it to your friends, you can take video of the game and post it on FB and two other sites also.
4. You can even go live and let other people watch you play.
5. What I liked was the ps4 continued downloading DLCs even if you say signed onto netflix or put a game in to play.
6. Your friend in the next state has a game you want to try but you can’t find it to rent it, then use the share feature and you can play your friends game for a while or you can watch him play -(you do need to be a member to use this of the ps4, I haven’t joined yet but it is like $10 dollars cheaper than xbox for the year.)
So why did I switch systems?
Well looking at all the reviews and the research, the ps4 is a better system for playing games, I spent several hours comparing the two, looking at the specs, reading what other peoples experiences were with both of them etc….
In the end it came down to, what is the best system for gaming, for me the answer is the PS4.
I will give it a few months and do a update, but I will tell you this, so far, I really like it.
Update:
Even with the few things I dislike about it, I still very much like the PS4 and playing fallout 4, WOW, graphics are amazing.
Some say there is lag, but I have not experienced it yet, a few glitches but that is Bethesda -(all their games have glitches) and I still love playing them.

Sometimes, when I’m playing an online game. I’ll lose control of my character, then disconnect from the lobby. And my controller will turn off, and won’t reconnect back to the PlayStation. Then, I’ll get up and turn it off with the power button. I will turn it on with the controller, and then it will say to press ps button to use the controller. The controller was already on at this point. I turn it off again and it will be back to normal. It’s happened more than once.

I got this on sale for only $399.99, and as a fan of The Last of Us it was fantastic to play the updated version with the much-improved Dualshock 4. The new Photo Mode in the remaster is great fun; sharing photos and videos literally takes 3 seconds, and this is still the best looking game out right now. I also got a seagate backup drive to boost the storage which I highly recommend; this is only a 500 GB model, and you’ll fill that up within a year if you’re an avid gamer. Sony is coming out with a 1TB model, but my drive is 2TB, which I highly recommend you get; upgrading is extremely simple. The PS4 runs great, quiet, it looks sleek, and it can go into rest mode to charge controllers, finish downloads, etc. Admittedly there aren’t many other ‘must-have’ games now, but in 2016 and 2017, the floodgates are going to open; it’s the best next-gen system out there.

The Last of Us is very much a system selling game. I have played a lot of games in my day but this is right near the top. Not only does this game look and sound fantastic, but the story and game play are some of the best I’ve ever experienced. Most of the time a game will not live up to it’s praise but this game did just that. It completely surpassed my expectations.
The system itself is amazing. I am coming from the Xbox360 so this thing is a huge jump in just about every category you can imagine. The PS4 is so fast. At no time have I experienced any lag during navigation. Some people have reported some hiccups when navigating the twitter and Facebook feeds from the the home screen but those are entirely internet connection related. The PS4 can only load your web data as fast as your internet will allow. In saying that, make sure you either setup port forwarding or throw the system on your DMZ if connecting through a router. You want to achieve a NAT Type 2.
Even though I do not use them all that much the share features are implemented perfectly. During any game you can take screen captures and video clips. You can even take screen shots of your home page. All you have to do is hit the dedicated share button on the controller and in a matter of seconds you can capture and post to twitter and Facebook. Once you’ve linked your accounts you can choose to share every aspect of your gaming. From a picture or video clip, to a simple status update telling friends what you’re doing. The system will even update your Facebook status for you. Of course you can share everything with the world or you can choose to be completely private. It is all up to you.
The DS4(Controller) is a nice upgrade from the DS3(PS3 Controller) in terms of fit and feel. I really disliked the DS3 because it was so small and toy like. Whereas the DS4 is actually a joy to hold and use for extended periods. For the first time I feel Sony designed a controller for adults, rather than kids.
A negative is the battery life. I am only getting about 6 hrs per charge and that is just not good enough for a modern day controller. You have the ability to turn off the speaker and dim the light bar but that doesn’t seem to add very much batter life to it. On the flip side, I am able to use my cell phone charger to charge the DS4 from the wall so I have that sitting next to my sofa. If I didn’t have that option I would probably have to buy a second controller or buy a longer USB cord because the one they give you is only about 3 feet long. Either way, battery life on the DS4 is garbage. Plan for a second controller or longer USB charging cord. You are going to need one.
Audio and video quality are top notch. I have my PS4 connected to my Denon receiver via HDMI and have the PS4 set to Linear PCM. This setup gives me a 7.1 signal. You can also connect the PS4 directly to your TV and run an optical cable to your receiver instead, but this will only give you 5.1 and will not carry Dolby TrueHD or DTS-HD. If you plan on using your PS4 as a Blu ray player, and have a DD-TrueHD/DTS-HD capable receiver, than you’re going to want to connect via HDMI to the receiver and select PCM in the PS4. Also, make sure you calibrate your TV picture settings to fit your environment and lighting. I see so many people using the default game setting or other factory default settings which are generalized settings and will not look as good as custom settings. Remember that ambient lighting is a huge factor in how the TV will look so it is so important to use custom settings for your living space. If you want the best possible picture quality for your TV and PS4 than you must use custom picture settings.
Obviously there are far deeper reviews online but this is a quick take on my new system. All I care about is gaming and the PS4 does that so well. It is quiet, has super fast navigation, and the games look and sound amazing. I am a life long gamer and have nothing but praise for the PS4. I am thrilled with it and totally happy with the purchase.

Loving my new PS4! The system is great to have as an all access system for my TV. I was considering getting a cable box until I realized I can do pretty much everything I wanted out of the cable box, on my PS4. I have played The Last of Us on my PS3 before, and I still am blown away by the story arch and the depth of the characters. I also suggest playing the bonus story, as it gives even more insight into the characters. Very well designed game for its time. It’s kind of nice that its a digital download ( I know some people don’t like this however), because you can switch back and forth between games without switching out a disc. Great game and an excellent starter game for anyone looking to upgrade to PS4, especially if you do what I did and spend all your money on this and leave no money for extra games… oops! Its okay though, because like I said before, It’s a great starter game.

A system is only as good as the games released for it.
After receiving this gift as a birthday present I have been constantly impressed with a few of the titles that I have thoroughly enjoyed playing.
Last of Us: My very first game played through for the PS4, reminiscent of the uncharted series which is also developed by naughty dog. Impressive game play and just a genuinely interesting story.
Bloodborne: I am a stranger to the Dark Souls series, Bloodborne is the first game I’ve played of its kind. Easily the most difficult and satisfying game I’ve ever played it mixes RPG along with strategy and incredibly important timing elements.
+ Backed by top notch development support for existing and new software
+ Controller is perfect for every game I’ve approached thus far, and is great quality.
+ PlayStation Plus provides a great experience with monthly free games.
+ PlayStation Apps continue to roll-out. Netflix, Hulu and other are there for your video and music enjoyment.
+ Regular software updates are a nice touch
– Usage of PlayStation software is at times confusing, and sometimes buggy (I’ve had issues concerning recognizing the current DVD/Blu-ray in the PS4 tray)
– I’d really like to see more 4 player couch co-op developed games. As of now I’m really enjoying Rocket League, and several sports games to support this hobby. However, it’d be nice to see some form of the original Halo from back in the Xbox days.
I can’t in my right mind give the console anything less than a 5 star rating, even if only due to it’s outstanding support for the development of top-notch video games. PS4 gets my highest recommendations.
