I needed to replace an Asus laptop that I’d been using for music production and didn’t want to spend much since I primarily use a Mac now. I upgraded the RAM to 32GB and it has handled every project I’ve thrown at it flawlessly.

It loads up Native Instruments plugins almost immediately – even the instruments with large sample libraries. Projects with multiple virtual instruments along with many audio tracks loaded quickly and played well with a relatively low latency set. I’m using a Focusrite Clarette interface via USB-C.

**If you’re planning to upgrade the RAM, keep in mind the tower only has 2 slots.

Top of the line PC for everyday use and doesn’t come with a bunch of bloat ware unlike other brands. Obviously not the greatest for gaming though. I love that it has upgrade capabilities too and I will be expanding my RAM to 32gb in the near future.

At $649 for a desktop with Intel i5, 16 GB RAM, and 500 GB SSD its a good value. Built in the fall of 2020 it replaced a HP laptop of 2014 vintage. That was retired to be a slide show dedicated screen. The OS is Windows 10 and it is much faster in software startup and in processing data.

The input/output ports are adequate with good coverage in the front of the machine. I thought the keyboard would be cheap but its not bad. The mouse is fine. I use a 1 TGB HHD for much of my data storage, thousands and thousands of digital photos, 15,000+ taken with various single lens reflex cameras and with various other cameras.

I use it for researching Bible themes for exhortations and Bible studies. I also use it for processing my photographs with Photoshop Elements. And for other home type uses, not gaming. I have a PS4 for the grand kids.

    I’m pleased with the purchase.

This computer has met all of my needs, with processor, memory and software loads and runs all my programs without issues. Storage, space is way more than will be used, and it is compact and takes
half the space of my previous model. I like the glacier pattern on the front of the case as well.

ASUS is offering a 90 day extended warranty for this feedback, and that is just an addition to the great product it has been so far. Have purchased products from ASUS in the past, and recommend them to buyers who want good quality for the money.

This computer boots up extremely fast and so far has been able to handle everything I’ve asked it to do. We use it as the main AV computer in our church and it’s running input from a high resolution PTZ Optics camera (USB) for Zoom. A Zoom session. Running and screen sharing Zoom videos and PowerPoints. There is no lag in using all these programs running at the same time.

Has the specs I wanted, has the price I wanted. Put it in where my old computer was and hooked up the same way as my other ASUS was hooked in and powered it up. Nothing. Power light is on…Power supply fan is on…. No visual…I unhooked HDMI and plugged in VGA…No visual. Cleaned up another spot for it and plugged into another monitor via HDMI and still nothing. I so wanted this PC, but I will be packing it up tomorrow to return. Computer was basically the same as my last ASUS and should have plugged right in where that one was. I don’t know if this is just a fluke or if I should avoid ASUS. I have and have had multiple ASUS products and all have worked very well in the past 20 years, but this one left me with a bad taste after moving everything in two areas to try it again. I never seen a dos or ASUS logo or a windows boot since I got it.

First with the pros, this is the fastest Pc I’ve ever owned, after you turn on the power button it is on the sign in screen before I can set my coffee cup down and sit, I’ve run it with 5 web sites running at the same time and the task manager settings show low usage and the computer runs them fine. It does everything fast and the computer came with little bloatware, the case seems well made and the ssd it comes with is made by intel.
Now with the cons, the hard drive comes partitioned with a small C drive and a larger D drive for data, why not just leave it one big C drive? Not a big deal but kinda a pain. Next the case is really tight, I added a 3.5 inch drive, but it has to be installed on the cdrom drive mounting bracket, so you have to take the front of the case apart, take the cdrom drive out and attach the new drive, when installed the 3.5 inch drive is 3/4 of an inch away from the cpu fan, I don’t understand why manufacturers are making these new cases so small, I miss having drive bays. You notice in the pictures there is also room for another 2.5 inch drive and room for another fan which mounts on the back. There is also room on the bottom of the case for a video card, although for me the onboard video on the chip is plenty fast. Another thing that really bothers me is the customer support, first they are difficult to get a hold of and then they were unwilling or unable to tell me about the ability to upgrade this PC. This is my second Asus and even with all the cons I have never had a blue screen or other problems, and overall I will probably buy asus again.
