Found out this board has a lot of issues after googling. Problem ranging from not being able to power on (even with the pwr switch shorted) to not being able to POST for whatever reasons. Mind just won’t post wth RTX4090 FE attached.

Al principio cuando leí las review de amazon o en foros tenia mis dudas, sin embargo llego todo bien. Solo tienes que actualizar la bios, te recomiendo seguir un buen tutorial. Con respecto a la placa, se ve sólida, muy buenos materiales, y muy elegante.

Great board, solid features and construction. This is my second time buying this board, as its value is decent. My guest PC / NAS is now complete and running strong. Zero issues, no bent pins, or headaches. Easy install.
May not be the prettiest out of the MSI line up, but it wins in my book.

Idk what’s been going on with MSI & some of the other big brand motherboard manufacturers, but spending 200+ for a board that lack features, feels more like a $100 mobo, & is hit or miss on QC is unacceptable. It used to be that if you spent over $200 for a Z series board that you were getting a solid mid range board, but it looks like they’ve decided to bump their mid range boards to $280-$400 , which is crazy. If I buy a mid range COU why would I spend the same amount, if not more, on a Mobo? This makes no sense. The lack of ports, weak support & bios, along with a litany of issues of overvolting, waiting for patches that should haven’t been an issue with a new board, etc. Is ridiculous when you’re asking your consumer to spend $200+ on these boards.
It gets the job done (depending on what you’re trying to do & what you need). However, I wouldn’t recommend this board in good conscious to a new builder, not only with how difficult they’ve made simple plug & play task & on the account that this board should be no more than $150.

The MSI MAG Tomahawk Z790 motherboard is an excellent choice for any new pc build and presents a tremendous value for the money. I purchased this item as the centerpiece to my first custom built pc and could not be more pleased with the quality, aesthetics and overall functionality of the device. This item has a handy flash BIOS button which makes updating the BIOS a breeze. Visually, this motherboard is sleek and sexy, with an understated military-industrial design that is inoffensive and lacks the cringe-inducing, unnecessary text (i.e. “gamerz unite”) found on comparable motherboards. The MSI BIOS is easy enough to use and did not present me with any problems. For the money, I’d be hard pressed to find a motherboard that’s higher quality or more visually appealing. I like that this motherboard is simple, elegant and easy to understand. I had no trouble installing this hardware. The heatsinks are high quality and durable. As a first time pc builder, I couldn’t have chosen a better motherboard to round out my build. I’d gladly buy another MSI motherboard for a future build in light of my experience with the Tomahawk Z790–I really can’t say enough good things about this product.

I purchased this product and couple other items, it is sold by Amazon Service LLC, product would not turn on and causes other items to over heat, i tried in two separate desktop and same issue. I tired to return but Amazon declines it after 30 days and they direct you to reach out to manufacturer that listed on AMAZON.com, opened up a case with MSI.com and spoke to customer service and they are telling that they cannot help and i need to reach out MSI in Netherland it was originated from there event though sold in AMAZON USA, called back Amazon to find a solution since manufacturer that they list on AMAZON,com was not help, after talking with 2 reps and supervisor name Daniel, he decided to hang up on me because there is nothing they can do, what is the point of selling a defected item if you can not assist with warranty or return, do you really expect people to ship things back to where they originated from, i purchased it in USA , not in Netherlands, i am sure they should be some law protecting people about this issues.

If you are going to use a 14th gen CPU on this Motherboard, you MUST update the bios before you install the CPU or it will not pass the POST. (power on self test)
If like me your starting with a 14th gen CPU and not “upgrading” to one, you need update the bios before even installing anything else.
This is copy pasted from the manual.
Updating BIOS with Flash BIOS Button
1. Please download the latest BIOS file that matches your motherboard model from
the MSI® website.
2. Rename the BIOS file to MSI.ROM, and save it to the root of the USB storage device.
3. Connect the power supply to CPU_PWR1 and ATX_PWR1. (No need to install CPU
and memory.)
4. Plug the USB storage device that contains the MSI.ROM file into the Flash BIOS
Port on the rear I/O panel.
5. Press the Flash BIOS Button to flash BIOS, and the LED starts flashing.
6. The LED will be turned off when the process is completed.
This worked out fine for me. It took several minutes to flash the bios this way.

Como dato importe los drivers del Ethernet se encuentran en la memoria usb que viene incluida, lo comento ya que estuve un muy buen rato viendo el motivo por el cual no conectaba, no sé si esto sea habitual, pero lo dejo para que no estén batallando en dado caso que les suceda los mismo que a mi 🙂

Very nice vrms, my 13900k runs wonderfully. I was able to run 7400MHZ on my memory, the highest on the QVL was 7000mhz. Also comes with the bios for 14th generation. Great board for 200 dollars
