Nice drive, well made, works just fine.
A perfect fit for the In-Win BQ656T Mini-ITX Desktop Case .

Our older Samsung laptop quit reading cds. After trying several software fixes and registry edits, I determined the hardware itself (A Model #UJ8D1 optical drive) was bad. This 12.7MM thick SATA drive was a direct replacement. You have to remove the bottom cover screw, pop the cover off, and remove a longer screw that holds the drive in place. Next, remove the fascia from the new drive, and swap it with the one from the old drive. It isn’t hard if you do it carefully. Now it reads discs again.

This might by Icydock’s fault, but so far nobody is owning up to the gaff. There are mounding holes tapped into the chassis of this unit, of course, but they don’t line up to the holes in the chassis of the computer. I actually had to use metal HVAC tape to get everything to sit right. I could have started sending stuff back, etc, but my rigging is permanent and everything works fine, but really?

Fit my new HP desktop PC perfectly. I used it to replace the read-only drive that came with it, and I was prepared to spend a half-hour or so installing it, but did it in only 5 minutes with no tools! May not be as easy in a notebook or other style computer, but was super easy in mine. Plus the plug-and- play feature in Win 10 allowed me to use the new drive without installing an additional driver or other software.

Work well had a DVD drive go out on my Dell XPS L502X. I was able to fix it.

Installed in an HP EliteDesk 800, fit perfectly, works great. Good price. Not as fast as my 5.25″ drive, but they probably don’t make a 16x DVD drive in the laptop size.

Great value, perfect fit; very, very easy install. Used as replacement for DVD in a Lenovo laptop. This resolved the problem that is repeated time after time on many, many websites. Been singing heavily for over a month.
