I love to be able to use the USB and have enough play ins and not have to have multiple extension cords. Definitely worth the money
MotherMyBowlisEmpty –
I love this power strip because it has many plugs that are spaced apart for easy use.
Batman & Catchick –
I have too many dang things to plug in. I was constantly switching out plugs, so I ordered this beauty. Lots of plugs. I like that the plugs have different directions. My only frustration is that the USB plugs would be more helpful if they were on the opposite side. The phone cables etc get a bit tangled up being at the back.

My adorable husband bought this due to all the plugs needed in our bedroom and lack of sockets. This was EXTREMELY HANDY! Everything charges great and the black style went with our decor! The size is perfect and the quality is top notch! Great buy for your money.
Truth on the Amazon –
Excellent power strip for computer multiple connections – the on/off switch is handy for occasional power outages. Also great for keeping my phone and wireless speakers powered up. On sale when purchased so also a bargain price.

I think the USB outputs are only 5v.
Good enough for many purposes.

Concerned about the complaints that the depow power strip trips off prematurely and makes a burning smell, I intentionally overloaded it with a coffee brewer and a 1500 watt space heater set to max heat. The power strip tripped off as it should. There was a smell but it was the cheap 16 AWG cord on the heater that got hot and smelled, not the power strip. Good to know. I’ll replace the cheap cord on the heater with a 14 or maybe 12 AWG cord and UL plug.
This thing is a beast! It’s about half the size of a boogy board, tho I probably won’t go body surfing with it. Twenty four power sockets is overkill, but it allows for large wall warts and other things that cover sockets without running out of them or daisy chaining a power strip.
Kudos to Depow for installing a power cord that matches the power claims. The power cord for this device is embossed with ’14AWG,’ (American Wire Gauge) which means it is capable of 15 Amps/1800 Watt loads at 120 volts without overheating, and matches the 15A switch/breaker.
Many inexpensive power strips claim 15 Amps/1800, but arrived with 16AWG (American wire gauge) power cords. The smaller 16 AWG is rated for 10 Amps/1200 watts without overheating, so sellers who advertise them as 15 Amp devices are dishonest. Fortunately, few users actually push the limit, but for those who do (one 1500 watt microwave will do) complain of tripped breakers or the smell of burned stuff and hot power cords.
The ad copy doesn’t say how fire resistant the plastic Depow box is.
When it comes to surge suppression, I consider the Tripp Light Isobar Ultra Diagnostic Surge supressor an industry standard. It’s rated at 3800 Joules, 15 Amps and metal fireproof box.

Both the Isobar Ultra and Depow have a red power on light and three LEDs that indicate Surge protection status, or if the surge capacity has been used up.* The Depow claims 3400 Joules of surge supression and duplicates the diagnostic lights of the Isobar Ultra.
The Depow also has six USB ports. That’s also overkill, especially since they share the same 26 watt power supply, so the more gadgets plugged in the less power each will get. It would be gooder if they were PowerIQ and PD capable, but dedicated PD/IQ wall warts are fairly inexpensive.
I removed the Depow rear cover to have a look at the MOV devices, but the power board is installed in a way that I couldn’t see them. I think the device is well built and might survive a fall or two.
*A surge isolator, also known as a surge protector, uses a metal oxide varistor (MOV) to absorb excess voltage and divert it to the ground wire. MOVs are made of oxide sandwiched between semi-conductors, and act like a voltage-controlled switch that insulates with line voltage. When the voltage rises above the MOV’s reference voltage, the MOV blocks go into conduction, and when the voltage drops below the reference voltage, the conduction ends. The MOV deteriorates each time it conducts, so with time, it no longer protects the circuit and must be replaced.

I bought this surge protector because I needed to be able to plug in a bunch of electronics inside my closet, but there’s no outlet inside there. I used a piece of pvc coupling to make a pass-through in the wall so I could keep the cables out of the way and still get power to everything. Surge protector works great, lots of plug spaces, and while it would be cool if they were a little further apart, there are so many it doesn’t really matter. It mounted on the wall of the closet quickly and easily.
