Great sound and feel. Not too loud for office work, but loud enough to satisfy the need for a more mechanical keyboard. Keys feel nice. No issues whatso ever. Like that the keyboard comes with keys to change out in the event you are using it with a Mac vs Windows. Definitely worth it!

This was my first mechanical keyboard, and Iโd have to say I was pleased with this unit right out of the box. (My usage is strictly office work.) But I always have to tinker with gadgets, so I did.
Mods that brought it to a whole new level:
– Tape mod
– Added foam to case
– Akko lavender purple switches
Observations/Considerations:
– Aesthetics: 10/10 (bonus if going for the retro vibe)
– Connectivity: USB cable only (get a coiled cable to seal the deal)
– Hot swappable switches
– Sturdy plastic case
– Stock switches are super nice once lubed
CONS:
– Case is a real PITA to disassemble when modding. (Pressure clips galore that all feel like theyโll snap when splitting the case.)
– Switches not factory lubed
– Broke many key switch tabs when removing. Not sure if the stock switch housing is weak or if they fit too tightly.

Structurally the keyboard is very solid. It has a nice tactile feel when typing. I appreciate that itโs USB-C and comes with a USB adapter. The keyboard comes with keycaps for Apple and windows and a key cap polar. I appreciate the keyboard was very well packed and came with plenty of documentation on how to use the functions. I definitely recommend this product and brand. Compared to other keyboards, this is a great value for what youโre getting. I love the retro look. It pairs well with my minimalistic looking desk.

I bought the model with blue switches because I knew I would be swapping them out and wanted to try clicky switches because I’ve never tried them before. As I expected, I did not care for the blue switches but now I have gateron yellow switches in this keyboard and it’s great. I wanted a standard full size keybpard (no 1800 or 98% layout) and wanted it to be hot swappable. This was pretty much the only option on the market that fit both of those criteria. The build quality is pretty good, only minor flex and a small amount of creaking but nothing major for a keyboard this wide. The keycaps are surprisingly really good. They are double shot ABS but feel as good as any PBT keycap set I’ve every tried. The keycaps feel smooth but not in a cheap way, and still have fairly high friction so your fingers don’t slide off easily. Super clean font as well. The stabilizers are pretty good out of the box, there are factory lubed and only my spacebar has some rattle, but it’s not that bad. Now onto the flaw with this keyboard: disassembly. Taking this keyboard apart is a major pain. I removed all keycaps, switches, and screws. Then you have to pry the top plastic panel off from the bottom plastic panel. There are about 10 clips that hold the two pieces together and I almost broke the top plastic piece trying to unhook each clip. The weak point of the top panel is on either side of the delete/insert and pg up/down keys. The plastic is very thin here. Mine started to break a little bit right there on both sides from the force of removing the clips. So if you plan on disassembling this board for any reason, I would probably not buy this one. But everything else about it is great.

I got the retro non backlit hot swappable with keychron browns. Out of the box, sounds and feels pretty bad. The sound might not bother you if alone but if you need to work around people, you’ll need a different keyboard or mod this one. The ping was very very noticeable and annoying.
I went the modification route, and this thing was a complete pain to open up. Blood was drawn. I broke two of the plastic tabs and now it slightly bulges at the side. My fault I guess. Tough either way. Once I filled the case with a bit of rubber and foam, band-aided the some stabilizers, and changed my most used keys to quieter and better switches, the keyboard feels and sounds good. And looks retro and I love it. Just had to work for it.
If you want to modify it, it’s a nice base. Getting it apart was a nightmare, but doable. If you want a good keyboard right out of the box, maybe you’ll like this one, maybe not.

I have gone through a good amount of keyboards in my time, from membrane to mechanical. This is a no-frills keyboard, with a nice 90โs office color palette. The key sounds good, the pressure needed is not too much or too little. The packaging is nice, secure, and nice included key pullers, plus alternative cmd keys for Macs. Overall, at its price point, youโd expect it be light, full of unnecessary RGB, and prone to breaking, but so far I am satisfied and would order again.
