Received one with a BOE panel (REV B0BT1121). I was a bit concerned about the bad reviews regarding this panel, but I gave it a shot anyway. I did not buy it for gaming purposes, so I did not test the higher refresh rates. Anyway, colors seemed acceptable and I didn’t have flicker issues (though I didn’t have it turned on very long). Viewing angles were in my opinion also acceptable, though my Acer IPS monitors seem to be a tad better in this regard. However, I did find 2 dead pixels. One in a corner (actually barely noticeable), but the other one is on the left side of the screen and quite noticeable and annoying. Doesn’t look like specks of dust behind the glass, but just black pixels that refuse to change color. One would think that a high resolution camera at the end of the factory line would catch this type of thing in less than a second. Anyway. hopefully the replacement is better. Will update this review once I receive the replacement.

UPDATE: Received a replacement (REV L0IT1111) with LG panel and no defective pixels. I would say while the BOE panel was acceptable, the LG panel does appear to be producing better picture quality. Not really noticeable with just pictures, but text does appear to look a tad better. The biggest difference I immediately noticed is that the viewing angle is amazing on the LG panel, with very little color distortion. Anyway, I am glad I received a replacement with an LG panel, it does appear quite superior.

This is a good monitor but as with most monitors if you want to match your laptop and/or other screens you will have to tweak the color profile. Even if you don’t have a screen to match, there are some changes you can make to improve the color accuracy:

There is a noticeable green tint with the default settings, thus making whites look dirty. To fix this you should go to the monitor’s menu, click the center icon, go to color, and then RGB Gain Adjust. Here you should set Red to 245, Green to 235 and keep Blue at 255. Your monitor’s whites and overall color will look as it should. Mine is a BOE panel so you may not have to do this if you received an LG one.

I have a mac and I spent quite some time trying to find the best color profile to replicate my 2021 MacBook Pro’s retina display. You can change your color profile in you Macโ€™s system settings > displays > (click on the OMEN screen on top) > color profile. What I chose was “sRGB IEC61966-2.1”. This profile best matches Apple’s native XDR display color profile.

I have a few monitors and this is my new favorite. I specifically wanted a 2k monitor as it’s the sweet spot in having a high-res screen while not over straining your hardware.

P.S. To turn it sideways, so that it doesn’t hit the table, tilt the monitor up as far as it goes (so the bottom is towards you) and then move it clockwise.

everything about this i feel is better than the LG monitor i returned, from how the screen looks from the sides, to the settings, to how it looks and feel in general. really decent for the price range, and though i am not a big gamer, it seems like the refresh rate is good enough for my needs. i am hoping it doesn’t die after 2 years like my Sceptre did, so i may have to edit this review sometime down the line depending on the quality control of HP Omen compared to that, lol.

I ordered the new 2023 model on Prime Day and I am absolutely in love with it.

The stand is heavy and sturdy, the vertical adjustment is not something normally found on a monitor in this price range. I like how the base is square shaped so I can push it against the wall on my desk, opposed to the ridiculous angular tripod stands of competitors.

The screen is very bright at 400 nits and has HDR. I enabled G-sync with no issues in the Nvidia control panel.

Packaging was top notch, it’s designed so the stand clicks together with the screen still in the box, that way you can lift it out by the stand without ever having to touch the screen surface or do a balancing act as you assemble it.

Compared to my past MSI monitor, this Omen looks and feels like it should cost 4-500 dollars with all the features and quality it provides. The older version was hit or miss but the 2023 model is a home run.

I needed a monitor that was smaller than 30 inches but had 2k resolution with something close to 165 hz and this fit it perfectly. The highest brightness is defintely too much so it can definitely suit whatever needs you may have. The HDR is a nice additional feature although I don’t use it because I like the color of the screen without it. It’s good that the mounting slot behind it is standard so it fit my dual monitor wall stand. I don’t know about other 27 inch monitors, but the wall mount slot was lower compared to my smaller older monitor, so I had to move my wall stand higher since it touched the table. My other smaller monitor sits higher because of this but I do not mind it. This is definitely what I was looking for and for a steal of a price so I am happy with the monitor.

I bought these on Prime Day in the first half of 2023. Here are my thoughts about half a year later. I run these in a dual monitor setup. They have great colors and the response time is good. Smooth as butter. The baked-in settings menu is easy enough to navigate and gives you good control over colors, which I did have to fiddle ever so slightly with to get accurate white balance. If you’re an average person, the stock settings are already amazing and extremely close to accurate though. Also the build quality is very nice. Great value when they’re on sale!

I got this for $200 back in July, taken it back and forth several times to college and it works great. Picture is exactly what I needed, plenty bright with great colors, no built-in speakers but there is a 3.5mm jack if you donโ€™t want to run your headphones or speakers all the way to your computer tower. Fantastic deal at $200, pretty decent value up to $250, but I wouldnโ€™t pay any more than that.
