I specifically purchased this Anker USB-C hub for use with my iPhone 15 pro max. The description states it works with iPhone 15 so I thought it would. And I own other Anker hubs etc that work very well – so I went with this one for use with the one USB-C on the iPhone for video (capture footage on ex ssd as well as provide power for the iPhone, for starters through this hub). Surprisingly it doesn’t work. All the usb-c ssd drives work fine with the iPhone directly plugged into it (Samsung T7, Crucial x10, etc) but when I plug the this Anker hub into the phone, and plug in one ssd drive, sometimes it recognizes the drive and then when I run a test for speed (iPhone app) on the drive through the hub, it just isn’t there or says some error or whatnot. Go to ‘Files’ app and the drive doesn’t even show up there. So it does NOT work with the iPhone 15 pro max, astonishingly. I tried this Anker usb-c hub with my MacBook Pro and that works fine – but not my iPhone, for which I purchased it. 40 dollars, too much also as usually Anker produces good quality accessories and this thing is plastic, feels quite cheap and is not even close to another Anker hub I have here (but has usb-A and hdmi and ethernet with only 1 usb-c port. Or I’d use that one. BUT, I did try that hub and it actually works with the iPhone, but the speeds are a bit slower. go figure. Not sure if I’ll keep it for my Macs or just return it. Not as advertised, sadly.

I like that there is no extra power cord for when traveling. I also like that it is flat and the ports are spaced out as that makes it easy to use security devices that can be a bit wider than just a cable.

I bought this to use a second monitor on a Mac with limited usb ports. This hub works with one caveat. The monitor needs external power which I guess makes a little sense, but it’s one more wire that I didn’t want to run. Other than that, great hub so far.
TLDR; the DP port doesn’t pass power to the connected device.

HabÃa comprado anteriormente un Hub con puertos usb C para mi IPad, ya que necesitaba puertos adicionales para conectarle tarjetas y ssd, asà como algunos accesorios pero cuando tuve la necesidad de conectarlo a un monito, sencillamente no pude usar ningún puerto ya que estos no permitÃan las transición de video pero este HUB de Anker es perfecto, permite la trasmisÃón de video en 4k y ademas de usar los otros puertos para conectar accesorios como discos duros.

This Anker USB-C is good overall, but I had an issue where it doesn’t work after waking from sleep in Windows 11. It’s “permanently” connected to my desktop PC. My other card reader/hub does NOT have this issue, so it seems the Anker hub is to blame.
The quick solution to fix this is to unplug and re-plug it in.
The permanent fix is to adjust USB power settings in Windows. In Windows Search, type “Control Panel” and click on that result. In the Control Panel, click Hardware and Sound > Power Options > Change plan settings (for your current plan). Then click “Change advanced power settings,” “USB Settings,” and set the “USB selective suspend setting” to “Disabled.”
After making that change, it should work right away out of sleep.

I tried another low cost hub to connect 3 ssd’s to my MacBook with no success. This hub connects 3 ssd’s with no problems. The secret is the pd port which is connected to a power supply. Even though labeled as pass through power to the Mac, this port apparently also supplies power to the ssd’s. Unplug the power, ssd’s disconnect. Plug in the power, ssd’s work consistently. Highly recommended.

I purchased this adapter for my iPad Pro so that I could easily import drone photos and put them on an external drive. I had issues with the unit I received, and unfortunately I didn’t test or discover them until the return window had closed.
Anker stands by this product. When I described the issue to them, they offered to send a replacement, or issue me a refund. They were certain my unit was malfunctioning. Because I already found an alternative adapter, I took the refund, but nevertheless, anker is a great company with great customer service. You can purchase this adapter knowing that rest assured, in it doesn’t work for you, anker will ensure your satisfaction nevertheless.
