The product is really good and was delivered on time in perfect condition. Tested both in Mac (Macbook air) and windows (Lenovo Z50). Driver for LAN connection available on Tplink website, link and installing options described in manual provided with the product.
Test Run:
1. On Mac with LAN driver from tplink installed, everything runs perfectly. All three 3.0 USB ports can be used at the same time plus LAN connection too.
2. On Windows, LAN connection worked perfectly only after installing the driver from Tplink website. My windows laptop 3.0 USB was not powerful enough to power this adapter for my external hard drive to detect, so only pendrives can be used simultaneously in all three 3.0 USB ports (I think depends on your laptop).

They do what they are supposed to do and I love them and wish I did not have to write a whole damn review when the headline says it all

This device is pretty small but effective. It just plugs into the computer via USB port. You then plug a standard Ethernet cable into the other end, and thats it… The computer automatically registers the USB port as an Ethernet connection to the internet, and you’ll get a wired-connection symbol on your internet icon in the taskbar tray.
It is obviously not optimal speed, as the data has to pass through the Adapter first.
However, I bought this as an emergency Ethernet for my Desktop PC, as it has no wireless card and the Ethernet port went bad. It works spectacularly. It was a tad slower, but not by a whole lot, I was still able to download a 3GB game in a few minutes.
This product is also great if you have a laptop that does not have an Ethernet port and you need to wire directly without WiFi.
For NON-TECH people: I literally only needed to plug it in the USB, then into the Internet Cable. And BAM internet. Works and gives a solid speed.
also, it is pretty cheap on the wallet, but its not super cheap feeling in the hand/plugged in.Its good for the price for sure.

My old Ethernet hub was starting to die out and I figured I might try to switch to a new one while it was on sale. This thing was worth every penny and sent my speeds through the moon!

I just upgraded a system from Scientific Linux 7 to Ubuntu 24.04, both linux. Note that Scientific Linux is defunct and no longer supported. Ubuntu 24.04 is current and supported. The USB to 802.3 gigabit ethernet adapter on the system was j5create USB 3.0 to RJ45 Gigabit Ethernet Adapter, 10/100/1000 Ethernet LAN Network Adapter for Mac, Windows 11/10/8.1/7, Chrome OS, Desktop, Laptop (JUE130) ASIN B00CRMZFI6 that was not detected by the Ubuntu OS. j5create technical support had no solutions as j5create does not support Linux for the JUE130. I removed the JUE130 and installed the TP-Link UE306 identically to the JUE130. Plug and play. The Ubuntu system immediately connected to the local area network and the Internet. No drivers to install, no settings to adjust. Plug and play as advertised on the Amazon description for the JUE130.

I saw a huge improvement in my internet speed compared to my wifi speed. The response time is almost instantaneous. I love it.

Mostly a good adapter, but I noticed slower than expected speeds and some HTTP file downloads get corrupted. I tracked down the problem and it’s because TX offload doesn’t work correctly on this network adapter. On Linux, I ran this command to bypass this offloading feature:
ethtool -K tx off
And everything worked great after that. So yes, it does work with Ubuntu 24 on the 6.8 kernel, but you might need to tweak the settings. Clearly there’s an issue with some of the hardware acceleration features. I recommend you do a large file download over HTTP (not HTTPS!) and make sure you’re not seeing data corruption.

I was not getting a consistent connection to the internet using the onboard Ethernet port on our HP laptop even after reloading the drivers. Plugged this adapter into the USB3.0 port, rebooted the laptop and have had a solid connection since.

For some strange reason, my ethernet jack on my laptop did not work well with windows, so I got this. It works great now. No connection problems. It folds up really nice too. Totally worth it.

Don’t need it often, but when I need to quickly add an ethernet port to a computer that doesn’t have one this does the trick. Easy to use and works great.
