We recently switched to a Chromebook so none of our devices have LAN ports. I needed to adjust some settings on our home router (which is doable on wifi but much easier plugged in directly) so I needed a way to plug in my Chromebook directly to the router. This was perfect. If I were needing to hardwire a device for actual internet use and streaming I would probably spend the extra few dollars on something better but for what I was trying to do, this was exactly what I needed.

Lo compré de emergencia porque necesito empezar a participar en live streamings en el trabajo (literal de antier a hoy, super palomita a Amazon por la velocidad de entrega) y mi MacBook air del año del caldo no cuenta con puerto Ethernet. Mi paquete de Internet es el más barato de Telmex y la señal de WiFi no es nada confiable, pero con este pequeño adaptador la diferencia es de noche y dÃa en estabilidad de conexión. No sé ni tengo tiempo de averiguar si hay opciones más rápidas o más sofisticadas, con esto me es más que suficiente para mis requerimientos actuales por un costo muy bajo.
El adaptador es pequeño y portátil, mide aprox 12 cm con el cable extendido (el cual se dobla y guarda en la parte inferior del aparato). Tiene un tenue indicador azul que parpadea al estar funcionando. Con mi sistema operativo es literalmente plug & play, soporta windows y otros, pero tal vez con esos SO vayas a necesitar descargar algún driver. Totalmente recomendable.

Cord is sufficient length to sit in auto holder or on car seat , if not occupied by passenger. Enjoy the music from your iPhone from older automobiles which don’t have the current Bluetooth technology. .

Works just fine. I originally bought it for my child’s Nintendo Switch but I’m using it for my laptop instead. It doesn’t do very well for the Nintendo switch.

When everyone is researching at once, sometimes the dorm Wi-Fi is bogged down. Being able to connect over the wired Lan has prevented a headache. Unfortunately the newer laptops are too skinny to house a network cable, so the USB to Cat 5 adapter is a must. definitely worth it!

I purchased this for a more reliable, wired connection for online lectures. It was fairly easy to set up. I just plugged it in and my MacBook Air picked it up immediately and it was connected. I just had to turn off my WiFi to connect through the Ethernet cord. Hopefully it helps to give a solid connection during lectures, works well so far with browsing.

My network port (laptop) failed some time ago. I got an earlier type adapter which was fine until its wiring screwed up because it did not fold up for transport. This model does fold for transport and that is much better.
