TLDR: This dryer works great. I have a few of the older sunlu ones and this CR is a bit better because I feel like it has better air flow around the spools. It looks cooler too.
I never really bought into “drying” being needed but a few years ago, I fell into a rabbit hole of trying to get wood filled filament to print perfectly. No matter what I did, I couldn’t pull this off. I had about 3 dozen retraction and temp towers printed and all had some degree of weird stringing and blobs formed all around them. Finally, I went to the social media forums and asked for help. A few people recommended drying the filament and at that point, I said “why not?”. I ordered a dryer and put the spool in for 6 hours. The very next print, which was a REPRINT of the exact same gcode I just did earlier that day, came out perfect! Pictured here is my last attempted tower before drying, and then that same reprint after drying. Needless to say, I now preach the gospel of drying your filament! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

As you can see from the attached photos, I now have 4 different filament dryers. They all have their pros and cons. This dryer is now my go-to filament dryer. I only use the others this dryer is in use. Since this is a product review and not a comparison, I’ll just cover the features that make this my go-to dryer and list what I dislike about it.
In general, the function is great. It does what it is supposed to do, the styling matches my K1 printer, and it doesn’t have a bunch of unnecessary lights to make it “look cool”. The power supply is built in (it doesn’t have a wall wart to plug in. The user interface is laid out well and easy to use.
The only complaint I have is, since the hinge for the lid is at the back and it opens toward the rear, it takes a little real estate when you have the unit open to load filament. That’s it. My only complaint. I probably should have ordered the double roll version though, but this works great as-is

I also have this product in the two spool size. They’re good filament driers and look nice

I’ve been a hobbyist 3D printer for a couple years. I started with an Ender 3 Pro, and quickly got sick of CONSTANT bed adjustments and the slow speeds. Graduated to an AnyCubic Vyper, and eventually got sick of failed prints there, and nearly gave up printing.
Then I got a Bambu P1S and a pair of AMS to go with it. Printing is fantastic, and with all the printing, I keep more filament on hand than ever before.
I never really got the chance to notice how poor some of my prints were because…open bed slingers of old are just not great. A few times I tried using a food dehydrator to fry filament, but never really noticed much benefit.
This dryer seems to do a great job on PLA and ABS, the primary filaments I use. It’s simple and intuitive. I plugged it in and turned it on. Took one shot at figuring out how to set times and temps or adjust the precoded values.
It’s made my prints that much better and I’m of course wondering how many odd print fails I might have prevented with cheap entry level printers in the past with a proper dryer on hand!

Full disclosure, I was already a fan of Creality’s products ever since I grabbed a CR-0 in 2017.
This was no exception!
It works well and helps keep your filament dry with the added bonus of being able to print from it if you can get the angles right. (I recommend using a PTFE tube from the enclosure directly to your extruder if possible)
So far it’s helped to keep jams and nubs to a minimum.

I have a bunch of different dryers. To this date, my preference has been the Sunlu version because of the wrap around heating. Creality really stepped up the game with this one by utilizing more powerful airflow around the spool to speed up the process. The interface is easy to use and the aesthetic is perfect for sitting next to a K1. I have been slowly getting rid of all of my 3D printing stuff and this is the one dryer I am keeping along with the K1.

I have a few different filament dryers and the one thing they all share is that they run a fan that warms a dessicant pack and they are loud. This unit is very quiet and does not require any desiccant packs. The unit also seals up well and allows you to use the filament in the dryer straight to your printer. It can give you precise details while printing like the relative humidity inside the chamber as well as the temperature.
It’s warm in my workshop now but this unit will be used a lot in the winter when the temperature drop and I still want to print. I was easily able to change the temperature from celsius to fahrenheit and the unit comes preloaded with a lot of setting for materials as well as a chart so that you can adjust your temperature settings to suit your needs.
Overall its a great little unit that does not take up much room on the bench and runs extremely quiet compared to the other units that I have owned over the years.
