Included documentation is quite good. First impression after getting everything dialed in is that this was a great purchase. Light extruder assembly with a good cooling fan, and it produces incredibly consistent extrusion. I previously printed a bracket to make my Ender 3 v2 direct drive, but for 100 bucks you cant go wrong with this upgrade. printing at 0.28 layer height looks better than my old prints at .20. just dont forget to connect the hotend cable on the extruder to its 2pin connector like I did lol. It comes tucked between the nozzle and cooling fan.

I tried to get this thing running on my ender 3 but failed ! I tried everything and got really frustrated and just ended up buying a K1! Feels like it’s a very solid construction though just couldn’t get it to print .

I needed a new hotend for my ender 3 max as I broke my old one. Scrolled through Amazon and found this and thought I might as well upgrade while I’m looking. I didn’t think it would work because it says it’s for the ender 3, but it surprisingly works well with wiggle room. Absolutely worth the money if you’re itching for an upgrade.

I have tried many extruders over the years and this is the best all in one Direct Drive extruder I have ever used. The kit came with the everything I needed to add this to my Ender 3 v2.
Installation was straight forward and the documentation online was easy to follow.
My only complaint was the built in mount for the CR Touch is ever so slightly to low for a BL Touch so I did end up buying the CR Touch to finish this install
The prints are beautiful with out any tuning what so ever other then adjusting e-steps
For settings in Cura I ended up using the Ender 3 s1 Pro settings, and they worked perfectly.

I liked this product being complete and ready to go out of the box. The build quality is great, and adding the cl touch was easy. Great upgrade for your Ender 3.

Worked good until it came time to replace the nozzle. The nozzle was cross threaded out of the box. When I tried to remove it it ruined the hot end. Now it is useless. Disappointed with this purchase.

This is an official Creality product.
You should know your printer and settings well before you jump into this. It is a fairly extensive upgrade kit that will require you to really strip down a lot of your printer. If you like what your printer is currently doing, leave it alone and buy this for another day when things start to wear out or you actually NEED to print at higher temps.
The kit is fairly extensive and will come with everything you need. The wiring is mostly plug in except the fans, you have options here if you know what you’re doing so I wont get into that. It does come with a wiring diagram for the 4.2.7 board if that’s what your machine has.
Mine came with a broken fan shroud. The little knub where the screw goes in was broken off so the fan shroud just fell off when I took it out of the box. That being said the screw that holds it on is more of a security screw, the fan shroud does click on. Also the original fan shroud (Atleast ender 3v2) is identical so I was able to use my old one just fine. Also… I have a 3d printer so if really needed I could have just printed a new shroud in my own colour scheme.
I don’t have any other hot ends to compare but I am pretty sure this is a spider v3 hot end not a titan (grain of salt) The silicone sock that comes on the hotend though says SPIDER embroided right into the rubber. I wasn’t really willing to dissasemble it to see how far the bowden tube goes into the hot end. Maybe someone else can pipe in here. I print with PLA and occasionally with PETG and all my PETG melts and extrudes perfectly fine at 235c. Maybe later I will take apart the hot end and see how far the tube actually goes in and a do an update, until then I will be weary of printing higher than 235 in case it melts the tube or exhausts poisons into my house.

Ok I’m gonna go out on a limb and say; this thing is awesome!!!
Nice piece of kit.
Looks good works good for PETG and TPU.
Easy to install. All things considered.
For the money spent it’s a good deal.
Now the only concern is; if it jambs which it probably won’t.
It is very complex to take apart for people who may not be good with tools and machines.
To access the internal rollers there is quite a few layers of parts to remove.
But when I looked at its internal design. It looks really good. Way better than the (Micro Swiss) …
With tighter spaces between rollers and guides.
So probably won’t screw up like the
Micro Swiss.
(Things like soft filaments rapping around the rollers. And jamming feed tube. )
Stupid Micro Swiss!!!
The only other complaint is the fan blocks the view of the nossel.
You can’t see what crap may be stuck on nossel. Or how the nossel is tracking.
Also would be really hard to set up dual extruders with this configuration.
Maybe if the designers could redesign and orientate it 90° so adding a dual extruder could happen easier.
Or possibly a total new version with integrated dual extrusion.
I would definitely pay twice the money for that option…
Bottom line: buy it!!!

J’ai acheté le kit pour changer mon extrudeur sur ma cr10 v3 direct drive et c’est exactement identique… j’ai aussi 2 ender3 v2 donc un hotend spider et une tête avec fan complète pour ce prix là c’est super bien

I’ve struggled for years to get clean ABS prints with the bowden tube setup and an upgraded hot end, but when I saw this in a 3D printing forum with someone else proclaiming it fixed their ABS issues I jumped and ordered it – and boy am I glad I did. Layer adhesion and consistency is FAR better. I haven’t tried TPU yet, but everyone says it does great. Don’t keep guessing – buy this…
M1 –
Easy to set up full unit easily swapped in. Normal trouble shooting getting things right.

It took me a few days to actually start printing due to connecting two of non- functioning wire on this extruder on to my V4.2.7 board.
The sprite extruder came with two extra wires which served no purpose. I installed all the connections without reading the manual, this caused me to have a blue screen on my ender 3 pro. After a few days of installing and writing my own firmware is when I discovered this problem. Once the extra two wires were removed, every component on my ender 3 pro worked flawlessly (with the latest combo firmware flash on creailty’s website).
If you run into a blue screen and flashing the firmware isnt helping, try looking at the manual and identify the two non functioning wires and make sure they are disconnected!

Takes a half an hour or so to install (you will need to rewire motherboard connections), but the print quality is *incredible* compared to the stock hotend and extruder setup on an Ender 3 / most Creality printers. Night and day difference when printing small features thanks to the greatly improved retraction performance, and a smoother surface finish elsewhere (all printed with PETG). Haven’t tried TPU yet but I have no doubt this extruder / hotend assembly will print it easily.
10/10 would (and do) recommend to anyone I know with an Ender 3.
