ELEGOO Saturn 3 12K MSLA 3D Printer

 I bought this printer for christmas. On night 1 I tired to print the demo chess piece. It failed. It was making a high pitch chirping sound. I contacted tech support it took a week for them to say to oil the Z axis. That didn’t work, but I decided just to print shorter things. I cleaned the vat out and my next print failed and the vat leaked.

I purchased a new vat and replacement FEP,

The next few prints just failed. I aksed a friend for help, and after some time we got the chess piece to print.

Followed by another Leak, and now I need a new LCD screen.

After I get a new LCD screen I’ll have replaced nearly every part of the printer. not even 2 months old.

I HATE THIS! I wish I could get a refund.

Update:
I bought this December 12th. It sat in a box for a month. It I now July 16th.

This thing has been relegated to a dust collector.
Every few weeks, I motivated, and pull it out, just for something to break on it.

Tonight the replacement LCD screen they sent (2 weeks ago) went out on it. So I contacted them again, I’ll let you all know how LCD screen 4 goes.

The good news is I had 1 successful print!!! In 6 months of owning this thing, I was able to hit the print button and the thing didn’t break… One time.

When you first get the machine, use Elegoo resin. I almost sent this back because I started with Anycubic basic grey resin and had nothing but failed prints. Most got to be 1/8th to 1/4 inch high before falling off the build plate. All my problems went away when I switched to Elegoo resin. The water washable resin from Elegoo works at least as good as their regular resin. I have not tried resins from other manufacturers since my experience with the grey Anycubic, but suspect they would work fine after some tests to get the right exposure settings for them.
The quality of finish on the parts coming from this machine is incredible. You cannot tell they are 3-D printed. Most FDM printers leave very obvious layer lines but the lines from this machine are too small to see in most cases. I also found that it was easy to fix parts made with this. I accidentally cracked a flute I had printed out of beautiful clear-blue resin. I put some uncured resin on a q-tip and soaked it into the crack, then wiped away the excess and put it back in the curing station. I cannot find where the repair was done, it is perfect!
If you had been holding off waiting for a mid-sized machine to arrive at an affordable price, don’t hesitate. This is an excellent machine. I also got the wash and cure stations and the flexible build plate that attaches with a magnet. You definitely want the flex plate if you buy this machine.

Arrived packed well and promptly. Easy set up and off and running. It has performed very nicely. I picked up a second to increase print volume.

It runs pretty quiet. At this price point and prime shipping it’s hard to beat.

Customer service was amazing. My first unit had a defective power supply and would not power on. They had a replacement at my door within 48hrs! When you stand behind your product that we’ll, you will have my continued support. I was up and printing within an hour and first completed print 5 hrs later. It was successful and looks awesome. Washed and cured with their Mercury X bundle made it all very easy. Used Elegoo standard polymer resin with great results. Can’t help but feel I instantly obsoleted my Creality CR10-S. As an HO scale model railroader, the possibities seem limtless. Wow, just Wow!
Zero issues leveling, zero issues printing and it is very quiet. Screen interface was easy as was moving thru the menus. One note that hopefully you can learn from my mistake-make sure you tighten the two screws for the plate significantly after leveling. I did not tighten one enough and it moved on me while printing. Not a printer issue, but rather a human issue.
