I was initially very disappointed when I received the unit because I have a relatively new MacBook Pro with MacOS Big Sur (11.4) installed and when I went to the Epson website to install the software basically what I got was “we’re working on it”. UNACCEPTABLE! I almost sent it back. Big Sur HAS been around for quite a while. Then I started looking around on the web and saw lots of complaints from folks about upgrading to Big Sur breaking their Epson software – stuff stopped working. Further investigations revealed that in some cases if the software was completely de-installed and then re-installed, things would start working again. So, I figured, what the heck. I downloaded the software for MacOS 10.15 and it installed without complaint and seems to run without any issues – SO FAR. Who knows if the next minor OS revision will break things?
This isn’t the first time I have had issues with timely Epson software support for Mac machines. I thought long and hard before purchasing this unit just for this very reason. I gave it the four star rating because I am very happy with the size, features and performance of the unit. I just HOPE that I won’t get an unpleasant surprise someday soon, and not performing software updates is not an option for me.

I purchased the renewed unit and was impressed with its condition. There were no defects and it worked marvelously. The scanning rate is rather quick, even at high DPI levels, with the ability to scan entire receipts that are ridiculously long.
I have not tried out the software or the WiFi feature, so YMMV with those. For my purposes, scanning in receipts and dumping them into FOSS software for organization, I had no trouble with this unit.
Be aware that, much like other scanners, you may need to drop it out of “auto” document color mode and choose “grayscale” to pick up faded receipts.

Horrible instructions on how to setup/connect the product to wifi. Had to watch so many different YouTube videos and they still didnโt work. Now I just have this thing sitting here until I figure it out. Again, horrible instructions that doesnโt communicate much on how to use the product exactly.

First time using a dedicated receipt scanner. I have liked it so far and it has worked well. I haven’t used the wireless function because I travel so setting up the wi fi each time seems like a hassle. I would like a version that stored the receipts internally or on an SD card so I wouldn’t need the laptop every time. Also, I’m going to make an angled base because I usually set the scanner on the edge of the desk/table almost right in front of the laptop and sometimes the receipts catch on the laptop and are scanned crooked.

TERRIBLE product, and somehow the customer service is even worse. Bought this product for my business and need to scan long receipts. Person states that it will scan receipts up to 72โโฆit wonโt. It will stop after about 18 inches, and then gives you a jammed error message. Called customer service at the number provided in the materials. They tell me, โOh noโฆwe have a special division JUST FOR THAT PRODUCT.โ Uh huhโฆprobably because it has so many issues. Next person gets on the phone. I had to repeat the problem to him several times, no he was just not capable of comprehending the problem. Gives me a run around about how it โshould still be under warrantyโ. (I bought it less than 10 days ago, I would hope it will. Then the real displeasure begins. Heโs going to send me an email, to which I must reply with proof of purchase and other documents. Honestly, I got fed up with the whole damn process at that point. I had work to do, no they werenโt helpingโฆjust offering more frustration needed more obstacles to jump through. I suspect it is a problem with the softwareโฆbut they are not capable of listening to people. Buy a product from someone else.

Love the size and ease of use. We use it to scan business receipts. Also like the software that reads the image and can identify most info on the receipts. Saved me lots of time and hassle to organize receipts manually. It’s very similar to QuickBooks receipt image upload, but better.

This is a great product. I do like Epson products. Now that my new accountant has set me up with QB cloud this will save me lots of work. Using this in a business environment. So far this has worked flawlessly. Bought a case for it as well so it can travel with me. This is only a scanner , not a printer.

I haven’t used to the full compassity, frustrating to set up without hooking to a computer, but did get it to work to scan a document to my email.

Fast digitizing. The only problem, well documented in the manual, is that to set it up via WiFi, the Wifi MUST be running 2.5GHz. If you have a wifi router set up only at 5GHz, the pairing won’t work. Once the pairing is done, instruction said that it will keep working at higher speeds. I woudn’t know, I still use USB cable. The PDF OCR is amazing, it easily recognises dates, amounts, taxes, etc.
I’m very satisfied by this thing. And take note: it’s muich smaller than the image let you think. It’s super easy to carry in a laptop case.

This is my first ultraportable scanner and im very happy with it. The only unexpected caveat is the wireless function seems to only “pair” with one device at a time although i havent investigated thoroughly. I just use the USB cable on my 2nd PC. The accounting seems useful so far, good option if you dont have an existing spreadsheet or record of expenses. The scanner software is good, i like the push to scan button on the device – kicks off the epson scanner software on PC. The scanner feels solid, seems like features are well implemented and stable.

So far it is working very well in scanning my receipts. If anything changes I will update this review.
