Following the included printed instructions, I attempted to install the driver to three computers (a Win11 desktop, a Win11 laptop and a Win10 desktop) from the included physical CD. It offers an option to “check for updates” but that simply locks up (and had to be canceled via task manager). As a result, I was forced to attempt to install the driver from the CD. After it prompts to plug in the adapter, it fails in its attempt to locate the device, even though the device DOES show up in the Windows device manager.
So I returned the seemingly defective device and got a replacement, which arrived the next day (isn’t Amazon shipping amazing?).
The replacement had the same problem.
So, I searched the Netgear website and downloaded the current driver installer (WNDA3100v3_V1.0.0.13.zip). It installed perfectly and the device works great. The laptop has internet connection from every far corner of my house – much better than the previous device I had been using.

It works! You install the driver with the CD, plug it in to a USB slot (and extension cable is provided so that you can move it to get better reception), and you can either enter your wireless passcode manually, or if your router has Push `N’ Connect (a.k.a. WPS), you can use that to connect. I’m using it on an old laptop that has a built-in wireless with max speed of about 55 mbps, so this significantly increases its speed.
IMPORTANT NOTE ON THE SPEED OF THE DEVICE: The WNDA3100 model is spec’d for speeds up to 600 mbps, but you probably won’t realize anywhere near those speeds. Generally, the speed you will realize is the lowest speed of any of the devices on your network, including the speed of this device, the speed of your wireless router, and the speed you get from your internet service provider (i.e. your cable or DSL modem). First, the newest technology high-end wireless routers as of this writing max out at 300 mbps, and more likely you’ll be getting at most 150 mbps on the router you already own, so while the WNDS31000 operates up to 600 mbps, the most you’ll get is 150 mbps if that’s what your wireless router is spec’d for. Second, I pay extra for the business class internet and get 55 mbps download speeds, which is pretty fast–most people are lucky to get 10 mbps from their internet provider. The WNDA3100 works at 600 mbps, my wireless router operates at 150 mbps, and the download speed from the cable modem is 55 mbps: that means I’m getting only 55 mbps for my internet connection.
You may realize higher speeds for other purposes. For example, I have a home network and sometimes transfer large files or videos over the network from one PC to another. In this case, I might realize 150 mbps speed since that is what my wireless router is spec’d for. Also, I’ve seen reviews for wireless routers with new technology that provide for up to 300 mbps (look at the links in the product description above), but nowhere near 600 mbps. So, at this point, there’s not much reason to pay extra for the 600 mbps unless you are counting on wireless routers to come out with much faster speeds than is currently the case. I bought the WNDA3100 model when Amazon had it on sale for not much more than the lower end models.
UPDATE 1-15-2014: I just read an article in PC World about a number of new wireless routers expected to come out in 2014 that have wireless speeds of up to 1300 mbps. If you buy one of these routers, you could take advantage of the extra speed when transferring data from one PC to the next. However, I reiterate, if your internet service provider is giving you, e.g. 10 mbps, then your internet speed will remain at 10 mbps regardless of the higher speeds of the Netgear adapter or your wireless router.

This product works with my 2011 Panasonic TCP65VT30 plasma. I think it works with all 2011 Panasonic Viera TV’s. You must get a V2. The official adapter that was supplied with the TV stopped working. Panasonic doesn’t want to tell you this product works with their 2011 TV’s but it does. I bought a refurbished one for 1/4 of the price that panasonic wanted to charged me for a new official adapter. The official panasonic adapter was 2.4 ghz only, and would only give me 2 bars of wireless signal. This one works at either 5ghz or 2.4 ghz and has a full 5 bar signal strength with no other changes to the network.
Setup was a breeze. Highly recommended for 2011 model panny plasmas. I also have a Panasonic Viera TC-P46X3 that is using the official panasonic DY-WL10 wifi adapter. The signal strength is not so great and I get cut out on streaming video occasionally. I plan to test the netgear WNDA3100 v2 on my 46″ TV and if it works I will buy another one of these bad boys for a better signal.

I have a Netgear dual band router but the signal seems to be weak. After I purchased this adapter works fine without any issues and also signal does not drop works great when you use for video conferencing
