It works pretty good, but the biggest issue I have is the mute button isn’t integrated with the new teams version as of 7/2024.
You hit mute on the phone it does not mute teams and vice versa. So you could find yourself double muted or not muted at times during the call.

I work from home and our company not too long ago switched over to Microsoft Teams so this was the perfect time to try out this Yealink MP45 USB Teams Phone.
This phone was super easy to set up. No other power needed except to pull it into your computer. The USB cord is hardwired to the phone itself which I am concerned with if the cord gets damaged you can’t replace it. The other end has both USB type A and C so it will work for any computer.
Once you plug it into your computer just set the language open up teams on your computer, mine starts automatically I just keep it minimized. When I double click to enter a meeting, the phone just picks it up and starts working. I can adjust the volume, mute, go hand free, pick up the handset, or add a headset. I can make calls to other Teams users in my company network, but keep in mind this is not a VOIP phone it will not make outside calls.
Sound is really nice, in meetings or on calls the audio is crisp. Handset is light and comfortable to use, but I pretty much do everything using the speakerphone option.
This is a great option for Teams users and I really like the old school desktop phone thing.

Easy to set up, clear sound, easy to see and push buttons works great

OK, I ordered this thinking I could use it as a desk phone AND to use it when I am on a Teams call. So, that’s not how it works, I guess. It is only used to Teams calls and quite honestly, I don’t have the real estate on my desk for this thing as well, so it’s going to get boxed back up because I only have like one or two Teams calls a week, and multiple telephone calls every day. I’m sure if my job was more Teams-centric, this would be very ideal. My fault for not reading more clearly on the product description.

Been using this the past few days and it’s as disappointing as it is awesome. I’ll explain why.
Pros:
– Great sound, loud, clear, people say I sound good
– Bright, crisp, display that’s easy to read, even when the font is small
– Button functions work right out of the box, literally zero setup, just saw my Teams account and brought up my name immediately on the display, it truly is a plug and play experience and its fantastic
Cons:
– See that Teams button in the picture? Guess when that light turns off. If you guessed ‘never’, you’re amazing or it’s really obvious that it won’t ever turn off. Don’t bother looking for a setting in the display menu or sifting through the manual, it’s not there
– The hardware buttons get out of sync with the application. Sometimes the application will join, even when you say you want to be muted, but it will join you as unmuted
– What’s that? You don’t have Teams Phone? Wellp, this is kind of useless for you then. Kind of.
I’m dogging on it quite a bit, but it’s because I think it’s a great device despite its shortcomings. It’s well built, the display is beautiful, and it looks like it can do so much and work the way you expect it would. It just seems so limited, though, especially if your business doesn’t have a Teams phone and audio conferencing plan.
It would be nice to see hardware functions standardized to work with other A/V applications also, like Zoom and Google Meet. I feel these are software problems with a resolution that Yealink isn’t going to implement for “reasons” and that’s too bad. I really like the idea of having a phone be a phone, even when it’s integrated into a world where it’s not necessary.
It’s the separation of those communication types that can coexist but clearly define how you’re communicating by just being present on your desk. If I pick up the handset, I’ve communicated to colleagues, family, whoever, that I’m on the phone. Doesn’t matter if it’s an app or an actual phone call, I’m busy, k?
Hopefully Yealink will release some firmware updates later down the road that expand its functionality. For now, it’s fine as it is (but it does make me feel a little more like a pro, ngl).

Truly plug and play. No configuration needed. Works great and people at office prefer a phone set over headsets for most work. Speaker phone is clear and load.
IT-Team –
Not functional with new teams, will send calls directly to voicemail instead of answering. Known issue for Yealink with no response for 1+ year.

Connected to my Mini Mac, can receive calls through Teams, can’t make calls at all. Read lots of help forums and it seems to be an issue with the MP45, both Macs and Windows has the issue. Some work some don’t. I could not get the 2 I purchased to work. Bought the MP56, works like a charm. Not sure why the MP45s don’t work, would have been thrilled to figure it out.
