This drive went right into my HP laptop from last year that has a Gen 3 drive in it. The laptop was already peppy, but I think I feel a slight improvement after cloning my old drive to this one and doing some basic tasks. Temps on the drive were are well within normal limits even under load and I didn’t experience any slowdowns in transfer speed in my testing.
While this isn’t as blazing fast as some other Gen 4 drives, this offering is a nice balance of speed and price, especially since the powers that be have cut production of the components going into these drives, increasing prices over the last 8 months.
Longevity should be no problem as the TBW numbers are in line with other top offerings. Very happy with this drive in my laptop, no complaints.

Yo lo he usado como disco duro externo para arrancar linux y es super estable.

The SanDisk Extreme M.2 NVMe drive is a pretty good performer. It does not post fastest sequential read and write speeds for large file transfers, but it makes up for it when workload involves a large number of small files. The drive temperatures are very reasonable with a proper heat sink. When idling, CrystalDiskInfo reported 43 degC, and temperature increased to 45 degC under load.
I did not run into any issues installing the drive, but I am comfortable with replacing computer components.
Overall, it is a good Gen 4 NVMe drive.

works fine

This 1TB M.2 NVMe has been a huge upgrade from my older SSD. IT is a third of the size and has much faster speeds. It is easy to install, only requiring one screw to be removed then re attached. I’ve been using it for a few weeks now and have had no issues.

For this review, I have to take the word of my son. This was his gaming system and I know nothing about computers. He picked this out and I ordered it. That was the extent of my involvement. So this review is basically his review. First of all, installation was very simple for him. I will add a caveat because he does know his way around the inside of computers. For someone who doesn’t, I personally would recommend having this done professionally. His version on this was “just find a nerd to install it”. Haha! Anyway, the installation took him very little time and he had his system back up and going quickly. I heard some “wows” and “cools” before I asked him what he thought. Turns out this was a fantastic upgrade with excellent storage speed. So for as little information as I was able to glean from him, I’m able to recommend this as a good upgrade “as long as your system can handle it”. His words, not mine.

The “SanDisk 1TB Extreme M.2 NVMe SSD – PCIe Gen 4.0” is a very good m2. NVMe SSD.
Overall I am very pleased with this M.2 SSD by SanDisk. It has pretty fast read/write speeds, but not the fastest NVMe that I have as far as speeds go. I installed this as a secondary drive in my computer for some extra storage. It has been working well and I am happy with it. You can of course also use it as your primary SSD running your operating system or you can place it in an enclosure and use it as a portable 1TB storage.
The drive itself is very easy to install, but it does not come with the necessary mounting screw to secure it down to your mainboard. (Some NVMe’s come with a mounting screw, but many do not.) My computer did not come with any spare screws, so I had to order a special screw to finish my installation. Not a big deal, but if you adding to your system and not doing a replacement of an existing NVMe drive, check to see if you need a screw as well, so you are not disappointed when it comes and you cannot immediately install it.
Overall, a great SSD at a great price.

I had an older Gen 3 PCIe SSD in my primary gaming rig, and while it was fine, I decided to replace it with this, since my board supports Gen 4. Speedwise, it is really nice and performs well compared to other brands.

While on vacation my SSD was fried during an overnight thunderstorm. Original drive was 256GB. This 512GB drive, although longer than the original, fit perfectly into the Lenovo S340 and works fine so far…

SanDisk 1TB Extreme M.2 NVMe SSD – PCIe Gen 4.0, Up to 5,150 MB/s – Internal Solid State Drive – SDSSDX3N-1T00-G26
I have had several SanDIsk SSDs in the past as upgrades and they all meet their specs. This M.2 drive is a great upgrade to one of my travel laptops using the old as a sys clone. This drive performs to the system spec of 5150 or better in a few tests using mainstream utilities with heat is easily managed by the laptop with the addition of a heat sink. It didn’t come with a screw but refused the one already in the storage area with no issues.
This would also make a great clone drive for complete backup of a system before travel. Something many fail to do just before losing a laptop abroad. Easily connected it mounted in a M.2 external housing and then to the laptop. It also performs well as a portable data device as long as the case it’s in had ventilation and a heat sink on the drive – at full bore, they get hot.
Price point for this was below the bigger names with the same performance specs at the time although there seems to have been a price increase in it suddenly but they are a moving target.
