This adaptor is the one you’re looking for. Just beleive me.
You can choose from IDE to SATA or SATA to IDE by switching jumper from position “B” to “C” : Clever.
Your only downside is the fact that you will have to have only ONE drive on your IDE cable, since there is no jumper for Master/Slave selection.
    Delivery was very fast.

I used this to install an SSD in my original Xbox – the boot time is a little long (there’s no M/S/CS jumper on the adapter) and I had to source an 80-wire PATA cable (which are almost as rare as a good condition IDE HDD), but it works fine!

It’s the other way round for me. I needed an adapter to connect an old PATA HDD to IDE port computer. And there is no return option for this purchase. They should have written instruction correctly and precise.

Just reiterating what other reviews have said, but I can’t set it to a slave drive to clone the original hdd. Additionally, there are 2 different spots where the SATA connector pins seem to bridged by solder.

These are great for doing retro builds, a small SATA SSD makes win98 pretty zippy lol

I got this adapter because my normal adapter (the Startech one with the red PCB) wasn’t available, as well as a 128GB SSD, to use to upgrade one of my older PCs. BIOS saw the drive, cloning went without issue, perfect. Then we get to booting the operating system, and immediately I run into read errors.

After much troubleshooting to no avail, I run across a Reddit solution: disable UDMA in the BIOS. I do that and it boots first try. Ultimately it works, but at least some will notice a disk performance hit if you do disable UDMA, which is the way to solve boot issues it would seem.

Ultimately this isn’t an adapter I would recommend if there is anything else available, but it ostensibly does its job.

Update – I had to return these because they do not work with my NAS because they do not have a master / slave jumper. Apparently the jumper on this device is not for master / slave settings. If you need these jumpers then this won’t work for you.
If you do not need master / slave jumpers then this adapter works great, and I had no issues with the 4 I purchased.

    Original Review Below:

I bought this because I have an old Venus T4U USB NAS with IDE connections, and the drives I want to put in it are SATA.
I was concerned that the SATA to IDE adapter would not work with the NAS, but it works great. I only ordered one to test it out and I will be ordering three more to finish the project. The adapter has plastic covering the SATA connection side to protect from contacting metal and shorting it out.
The only thing that dropped it down to a 4 star instead of 5 star is that there are no instructions. There is a jumper on the adapter and I have no idea what it is for?

I’m so glad this exists. Had an old pc that was ide only converting to another connection. This allowed me to use a sata as a test drive installing newer OS to see if a 30 year old printer pc could handle it. I’m happy with it.

The Kingwin SSD/SATA to IDE Bridge Board Adapter afforded me a quick-fix for salvaging a SATA HDD from a ‘dead’ computer – was able to convert the SATA drive easily to the IDE interface in an IDE HDD enclosure. Consequently, I was able to transfer all the data from the SATA drive to the new replacement computer. Highly recommend if you’re ever in the need for a quick-fix recovery.

El adaptador cumple su función. Yo lo he empleado para adaptar un SSD a una iMac G4 (lamp), reemplazando su HDD IDE (ya no se fabrican esos discos). Funcionó a la perfección. Sin hacer ninguna modificación.
