This is our second kettle but I’m ok with that. First one last nearly 4 years and we use it ALL day everyday! Our first was a brushed steel and I prefer that to this shiny one just in terms of it looking cleaner. I love the large capacity this holds and how quickly it works. I hate coffee makers for several reasons, this takes care of all of them.
It was definitely cheaper 4 yrs ago (A LOT) but I’m hoping they are made the same and will last. If so, then it’s worth it.

I have never owned an electric kettle before, but I really like this one. It came with a few extra parts that I don’t use, but the quality is great. I love the color. It takes a minute or so for the water to heat up. Sometimes it’s hard for me to hear the click to let me know the water is ready, but other than that I am happy.

I was looking for a kettle that didn’t have any plastic inside touching the water, so I got this one. I like the black, and tbh the modern design is not my favorite, but it is unique and kind of looks like it belongs in a survival bunker so it’s got some charm.
After using it daily for a few months, my issues are- 1) no minimum fill line makes me a bit nervous and 2) the lid can be a real pain to get off sometimes. Other than that, it’s great.
I also find the lid gets too hot to open without a pot holder, but my BF has no trouble touching it with his bare hands.
I don’t regret buying this, but if I do have to buy another kettle I’ll probably look for one with some features like temperature control/temperature display.
Kettle care tips- if you’re filling it from the sink, wipe down the outside and bottom before putting it on the base, so no water gets in the base. Empty the kettle completely after each use and leave the lid off for it to dry inside, so you don’t get moldy water and opportunities for rust. Don’t forget to clean it out with vinegar every once in a while.

My primary requirement for this kettle is that there be no plastic or silicone exposed to water or steam. In addition, I was looking for as little plastic as possible in the overall design, so that ruled out insulated kettles. Some details:
1. The green color – I was hoping for 1940’s green, but the color is more a mint or pistachio green. I’m posting a photo showing a depression glass cup for comparison. It’s a very subtle distinction; still very pretty and the paint is nicely applied.
2. I’m therefore exchanging for the shiny stainless finish. I checked with the vendor; they confirmed the finish is polished stainless steel
3. The filter in the spout can be popped out; it’s held in place by pressure and has no silicone
4. I checked with the vendor on how the interior side is attached to the bottom and was assured that the two parts are welded by laser.
5. The clear switch lights up blue when the kettle is on.
5. The vendor responded to (3) separate questions, each within a day
6. The 1500 watt kettle keeps blowing my single fuse in my old building – it’s a building issue, but something to be aware of. Many new electric kettles are 1500, rather than 1100, watts so that they boil water faster.
So, that’s the scoop. I would recommend this kettle. It has a nice, clean design and is well executed, and the Vendor is very professional and helpful.
Update: I’ve now received the Bright Silver version of this kettle. The finish is very nice, not cheap looking. It does not perfectly match the base finish, but the difference is not noticeable (I think my photo shows this accurately). While the green kettle had a grey cord from the base, this one has a black cord, which coordinates well with the other black accents. You can wrap the cord under the base to shorten it and the base still sits securely. The shiny finish makes the kettle look smaller and more elegant than the green kettle, and it blends into the surrounding decor, while the green kettle is more of an accent and the color makes it look larger. The green kettle has a blue light in the switch, while the silver one has a red light.

I loved how fast it heated water. I had it on a dedicated circuit. It melted and fused together not turning itself off. I still bought another one. I guess I have a death wish.
I got another one and it had only about 1/4 cup in it and it stopped working. Got too hot? It doesn’t know how to turn off without overheating!!!

I’ve purchased numerous electric kettles. We use them several times a day and they don’t last more than a few years, regardless of the brand. Hence, I try not to purchase really expensive ones and just replace them upon product failure. I was given a SMEG toaster (I know, right?). I love the color & retro style. When I needed a new kettle, of course, I wanted the SMEG, but it’s ~$250. I thought I’d try this brand and it’s a spot on color match. I’d tried to get the pixel or pantone color of both, but was unable to do so. I did include a picture of the “on” light which is very dim so it’s hard to tell if it’s on, but it heats of quickly so you know right away if it’s working. I also can’t fit the kettle under my BOSCH water filter so I either need to run the water into another device and fill up the kettle, so I’ve just been using our beautiful Hetch Hetchy water from the tap.

We wanted to replace our stovetop kettle for a more energy efficient electric kettle. This one looks great and works great. The advantages of having an electric kettle vs a stovetop kettle are all over YouTube. For the price this one hits the mark, stainless steel interior with no visible plastic anywhere near the boiling water. 8/10/24
