I never made ice cream before so I can’t compare to other makers. This maker is quite, easy to clean and makes fabulous ice cream! It comes with a booklet of wonderful, easy to follow recipes. The tub freezes up quickly and stays cold. It makes a fair amount of ice cream. I wouldn’t purchase a smaller size. The ice cream is so good that it doesn’t stick around very long. Just remember prep work is the key. Have your ingredients chilled before putting into the machine.

This thing is awful. Hard to use and clean, and doesn’t work right. The ice cream freezes really hard on the surface of the container and the middle never freezes. After you remove the soupy ice cream from the middle, you have to scrap the inside of the container to get the hard ice cream out of it, which scratches the container. I tried a rubber scraper, but couldn’t find one stiff enough to get the ice cream out. Because the ice cream freezes so hard and builds up on the container, it prevents the mixer paddle from moving freely and makes the machine bog way down. The instructions tell you never to turn the machine off during the freezing process, but it has a timer which you can’t adjust on it that only runs for so long and then shuts the machine off, before the freezing process is finished. This is by far the messiest machine I have ever used, you can’t get the container out of the machine after it’s done without spending 20 mins and getting covered in the soupy ice cream. Save your money!

I purchased this ice cream maker based on the following statement on the Amazon website: “MAKES FROZEN YOGURT, ICE CREAM, SORBET OR FROZEN DRINKS IN ONLY 20‐40 MINUTES OR LESS”. As soon as it arrived, I purchased the necessary supplies and eagerly opened the box to start the process…anticipating digging into a delicious bowl of ice cream in about 30 minutes or so. Unfortunately, I then encountered the instructions which stated that 8-12 hours of pre-freezing is required. I went back to the website and realized that I had failed to click on the “read more” icon to view the rest of the description which did state that pre-freezing is required. Waiting that long and trying to squeeze a bowl into a freezer that is already too full to accommodate it just is not going to work for me. Had to send it back.

The Bowl in NOT Stainless! The information on this product is incorrect. Only the exterior shell is stainless covered with thin plastic like film but the Bowl is NOT stainless. Its most likely aluminum and its covered with a layer of Teflon or some type of non stick material. Im sure its a decent machine but Im looking for a one with a stainless bowl.

You have to leave it in the freezer for two days for it to get cold enough to work. It worked ok, you just have to plan far ahead.

I likes the ease of use and the consistency of my ice cream. Also, I like that there’s a timer to let you know when the ice cream is finished. The reason for my 3 stars is the cheap plastic piece used to churn the ice cream. It’s very weak and came off twice during the churning process. It also started to jam because of the thickness of the ice cream. Lastly, the motor overheated during the last five minutes because the plastic was continuously jamming. Despit that, I can’t complain about the way my ice cream came out. I hope a replacement part is considered in the future for FREE.
