This small USB device does work pretty well, even with an older OS. I am using this on a Win 7 desktop and yes it does work as long as you install the correct driver from the website site it will not work in Win 7 otherwise. There is a very slight delay as with many BT devices but with music you really will not notice.
The overall sound is good and it holds its connection well with my Onkyo HTR which is in the next room. Most devices I tested worked perfectly with the UB400 and connected to each without issue.
Note: I said most … I did find one device it could not connect to no matter what I tried, and that is my older Blu-Dento DAC so please be aware if you have one of these, the UB400 may not connect correctly to that device. We do not know why as I was discussing the problem with Blu-Dento support and it seems its just not compatible with that unit.
Other then that one issue, so far it seems to work well overall for its low price and I feel should work for most things you try and connect to. Because really the only failure thus far has been trying to connect to the Blu-Dento, the Onkyo and all other small speakers and portable devices work as they should. I would definitely give this one a try.

I bought this to give my PC bluetooth capabilities after the built in bluetooth stopped working. It works perfectly, but not immediately. Make sure you go to your device manager/control panel and disable any existing bluetooth already on your device, then plug this in and you’re good to go.

This initially works with Dolphin’s bluetooth passthrough, however, this does not work with third party controllers. Only one third party controller paired, and even then, the connection was shoddy and motion was iffy at best. Nintendo controllers worked great, but beware when going for third party. HIGHLY recommend buying a real wii bluetooth chip and soldering on a transistor and male USB head from an old cable, took like an hour, was fun and works like a charm. Overall works for general bluetooth, but do not expect good performance with third party Wii controllers if looking at this for Dolphin BT passthrough.

Purchased this to replace the bluetooth adaptor that came standard on the Silhouette Cameo 4 which is absolutely terrible.
Plugged it in, forgot the old bluetooth connection on Windows 11 and re-added the machine.
It is now running perfectly stable over bluetooth.

We managed to resolve the problem with just one call. We hit various steps, all which seemed to go nowhere. Finally he had me do something that Window’s help feature never suggested that was just what we needed. I’m grateful for his patience in working with me to resolve the problem. I’ve been thoroughly enjoying my headphone’s Bluetooth features flawlessly for a week now.

I bought this as my wife’s laptop does not have Bluetooth and she wanted to connect to a Cricut craft device that only works on Bluetooth. The laptop is Windows 10 64bit and I found installation couldn’t be easier. Take the Bluetooth dongle and plug it into a USB 2.0 port. Now don’t do anything for several minutes. I waited 10 minutes while reading the instructions. By the time I finished reading, Windows 10 had fully installed the Bluetooth device and a menu popped up. I plugged in the Cricut which turned it on, then I went into the Bluetooth menu and asked it to search for devices. After a few minutes, the Cricut was there. It also picked up other Bluetooth devices in the area. Range was about 30 feet. We tried a few things for about an hour and the connection was solid. I may pickup a couple more for our other laptops that could use Bluetooth. Very good buy.
The only issue was Windows didn’t give any indication it was installing anything. So if you are looking for an indication that it is being installed you won’t see one… at least I didn’t. Had I been impatient, I could have ruined the install.
