There is a big opening below the burners that dissipates heat. The heat does not reach the grill grates satisfactorily resulting in loss of heat.

Assembly took a bit, but it worked out great. I used a electric screwdriver to do the job. Instructions were perfect.

My dad passed down his old Kenmore grill to me a few years back (had no clue they made grills), and it lasted about ten years between the two of us. Was always impressed with how well it cooked, so when it finally gave out, I knew I would end up buying another Kenmore.
Was hesitant to order this particular model based on reviews of damaged/missing parts and a tedious assembly process, but I pulled the trigger anyway. Simply put, the grill looks immaculate and everything works like a charm. Have yet to cook on it yet, but the blue flame and effortless ignite is a great sign.
The assembly isn’t for the faint of heart, but it’s not impossible. Just need some patience and a good tool set. Took me a little over two hours to fully assemble and I’m pretty mechanically inclined. Can’t imagine most grills wouldn’t be any better though, so don’t let it keep you from buying the grill you like.
Will update once I get some steaks on this bad boy, but overall, I highly reccomend this grill.

The grill is beautiful, cooking is great but it took 2 people almost 3 hours to assemble and no one mentioned that you should have a full propane tank waiting.
Would order again but with assembly – worth the extra cost

ordered this and the Permasteel Lp to NG conversion kit. First off the Grill (made by Permasteel) was shipped very well, lots of protection for normal non abused shipping. It was actually very easy to assemble including the conversion kit, and the instructions could have been a Little better in certain steps, but overall i took my time and re-read the instructions before i moved to next step. it has a side burner and the gas burner its self came broken (faulty tack weld) needless to say i contacted the company directly and they immediately sent me a replacement within 5 days of originally contacting them. the grill works excellent using NG and overall i am very pleased. I will note i converted the burner orifices before i fully assembled , which seemed like it saved me some time.

This is my second of the exact same grill. Use it quite a bit. My old one the guts were starting to fall apart so instead of buying parts to replace I just grabbed a new one. Always Cooks good, burners are in sync.
