Seatcraft Italian Leather Home Theater Seating

Motivation: My old theater recliners are manual. Very comfortable but the faux leather is peeling off. Decide to get an electric recliner with real leather and head adjustment. Seatcraft diamante and another product are my top choices because the diamond stitch looks very appealing. I have chosen Seatcraft diamante because it is sold and shipped by Amazon, plus Seatcraft has been in business longer. Seatcraft has one year warranty, while the other has 30 day warranty when I read the user guides.

Technical details: The diamond stitch leaves more space between the recliner and the body, so the recliner does not smoothly hug my body as the old recliner. But it is quite comfortable and I love the style. It looks very elegant as shown by the attached pictures. I am about 5 ft 9 in. The recliner supports my whole body from head to toe in the fully reclined position. If you are taller, some of your feet might stick out of the footrest in the fully reclined position. The polythene foam is quite soft and comfortable. The blue light is very appealing. The recliner is well designed and constructed. The USB charging port is convenient. With the swivel tray table in the arm, I can easily put a water bottle in the cupholder. Some reviews complained the control buttons on the inside of the right arm. I am about 168 lb and there are enough width of the recliner to access the buttons. Require about $500 to buy a device to make SoundShaker work for 4 recliners. No plan to do it.

Support: Even though Amazon sells it, the support is provided by Seatcraft via 4seating.com. I bought 8 recliners. Assembling a recliner was very easy. All were working fine. However, one recliner had a control failure when the footrest was fully retracted, and made a clicking noise (see the attached video). This defective chair was really the result of a delivery error by Amazon (which is another story). After the initial call to Seatcraft, I received an email requesting the relevant info. After sending the relevant info by email (including the attached video), the problem was resolved to my satisfaction. I was compesated by Amazon and Seatcraft for my troubles of getting a defective recliner. Excellent customer services!

Potential logistics issue: Amazon offered multiple options for delivery. I really liked the delivery to a specific location with $20 fee. However, only free delivery option was available for me at checkout. Later, I learned that the delivery with a fee is not available for some zip codes. So, think about what you will do with recliners once they arrive. The 8 recliners were delivered outside my garage without any advanced notice and they were delivered earlier than the date I scheduled. I moved the boxes inside the garage, openned all the boxes, and moved all the items to the movie room except the 8 seats. Moved one 1-arm seat with my wife from the garage to the movie room. The 2-arm seat was too heavy for us. Spent about $80 to hire someone via taskrabbit to help move the remaining 7 seats to the movie room. Very happy with this risky purchase (which is perhaps more expensive than all the other purchases I made at Amazon). However, if I wanted to return these recliners, it would be a logistics nightmare.

Conclusion: In my case, my trust in Amazon and Seatcraft brand works. I have 8 beautiful recliners in my movie room. Each recliner works perfectly. I really don’t expect these recliners to be broken. If any electrical part is broken, call Seatcraft and they will provide all the info. It is also easy to find the repair video online and the repair is simple once you have the replacement part. The recliners make my movie room very attractive (see the attached pictures). Highly recommend it if you want the movie theater appealing. If you are more picky about comfort instead of look, then a smooth back with memory foam padding might be a better option.

I purchased the Seatcraft Diamante 6 months ago and could not be happier. First off be warned, the chair is HEAVY and should be lifted by two people. This is the type of construction that lends itself to longevity and sturdiness. Just make sure you know where you want it first, moving it around is not going to be easy. IKEA this is not, this chair is going to last for years to come

When I first setup the chair, it was a little stiff but after a few weeks it has broken in and is now very comfortable. The controls are easy to use and I’ve had zero issues with any motors. The storage areas under the arm rests are a wonderful value add and they a very roomy. One of the main reasons I chose this chair was for the accessory system they have and they do not disappoint. Tables, phone holders, wine glass caddies, lights, etc. It’s a system that works very well.

Other interesting things that are cool but I have never used: The led lighting, I don’t really use but they do add a bit of bling to your room. I suppose in a “movie theater” setup it would make for an unobtrusive lighting in a dark room. The chair also has a sound shaker that allows you to “feel” the movie or show you are watching. I’ve never used it myself because you need a separate amplifier for it. It is nice to have the option though

I bought two recliner chairs for my living room to replace my existing furniture. I received them today and delivery was just fine. When I unpacked and put the first chair together and plugged into to an outlet the electronics did not work! I called the distributing company and the nice lady on the line said I need too change the electric board. She indicated that it will take couple of weeks to get the parts. She also highly recommaned that I put the second chair together to make sure the other one works. I did and it did not work! I asked her why they did not check the items before shipping. She did not have an answer. She also indicated to me that if I return the products there will be shipping and restocking charge which can be 30 to 40 % of the product price. I had purchased these chairs through Amazon and once I contact them about the problem all was taken care of for the return. Totally waste of my time! One wonders why a great company like Amazon need to work with losers like Seatcraft company!
