I purchased this tool to help me plane the top side of weathered 4×6 outside patio trestle. I was able to adjust the depth of each pass due the variable dial. I used a 9AH battery that gave me all the power and time I needed to do the job. A very good tool to have so I definitely recommend this product.

I received my new planer in the mail, and had need of it the next day. It worked perfectly. I’m very impressed with Dewalt cordless tools. I have several now and am in the trades. I use them daily and have yet to see one fail. They are durable, and the versatility of battery power makes them indispensable.

I used this to plane level some areas of a deck substructure and previously to shape some inserts during its renovation. It did both jobs very well. It cannot perform like a full table planer, but that is an unreasonable ask – it is great for what it is. In combination with a belt and/or orbital sander this is a good shaping tool as part of your fine or rough carpentry arsenal.
I did hit a screw at one point and nicked the blade so thereafter it left a small stripe as I planed, but that is my bad not the machines. I only mention it as this slip pointed out that the blades are not a standard size. They are long narrow strips with no fastening holes, rather they clamp in to the rotor (there is a place to store two spares – that don’t come with it – in the handle). The correct blades are available on amazon.ca as “DeWalt Genuine OEM Replacement Carbide Blade # 273794”.
I had no problem with my 5 Ah battery running out during several hours of use on a couple of occasions, but it wasn’t running all of the time either.

Fantastic tool to have . Its versatile , easy to use , can be adjusted with the simple turn of the know to adjust thickness to cut and has great power. Blades are super sharp , cuts a very clean path and is awesome to have on jobsite. Only recomendation is to have atleast a 5.0 AH battery to run it, it does pull battery quick but thats anticipated for the amount of material it can tske off. Great buy for the money and comes in handy wsy more than u would think.

Me encanta el rendimiento que tiene está herramienta y la facilidad y pureza que deja en el trabajo, apenas necesita pasar la lijadora después de cepillar, deja la madera impecable, recomiendo no forzar con niveles grandes de cepillado, incluso dejando el cepillo en 0 ya hace un muy buen trabajo de desbaste.. recomiendo tener 2 pilas para cargar una mientras de usa la otra

– Brushless motor: The motor is brushless, which means it will increase the power and runtime.
– Adjustment knob: User can dial in the exact depth of cut.
– 5/64? maximum depth of cut – You can make a significant cut to do quick work for large operations.
– Machined front and back aluminum shoe – They are parallel and flat to provide consistent results
– Three thousand two hundred cuts per minute: The machine has a fast removal rate and provides an excellent surface finish at the end.
– Kickstand: It allows the user to set the planer at any horizontal surface. There is no problem like hitting the blades.
– Poly-V drive belt: This is a unique addition by DEWALT that increases the durability of the belt.
– Onboard blade storage: The tool comes with built-in blade storage so that you don’t have to carry them separately.
