This is an amazing router to use. Absolutely love it!!! I also have the Dewalt DCW600B and it is just as awesome router as well!! My Dewalt will be my primary plunge master. And the Milwaukee will be the beast on the other end of the table. I did notice a small change in the depth of the router bit as I routed out a large channel to inlay a 1/2”X1 1/2” piece of steel. Now I am not sure if this was the locking mechanism wasn’t tightened up enough or not, & I also noticed my thumb was always on the dial too. This is not something I was hugely concerned about that would make me want to give it 4 stars & not 5. Just cause it may have been my error, and it did not effect negatively what I was doing.
The dust shroud is phenomenal! Working very well. Some say it’s a lil loose on the left side where you attach the shop vac, and yes it is slightly, but excellent on dust collection!! The Milwaukee in my opinion is a far better deal then the Dewalt that sells for 199.99 & all you get is just the “Bare” tool. Now the Milwaukee I bought for 159.99 here on amazon but usually sell for 179.99 and you get the dust shroud, two base plates which you have to purchase extra for the Dewalt. The Milwaukee is thinner & leaner then the Dewalt, the Dewalt has more girth to it. This may matter depending on the size of your hands. I have small hands & me personally I like the feel of both of them. I prefer the on/off switch on the Milwaukee better, it’s on the front, so me being right handed it’s easier to turn on/off, where the Dewalt is on the right side & ergonomically I have to always use my left hand to turn on/off. This is why it’s going to be my dedicated plunge router. Now this is all personal preference and what works for you. So you make the call. When the battery is dead it dies instantly. This was not an issue for me, just making anyone aware just Incase your making a money pass to maybe check battery before making that run, I do not have a professional shop, it’s my tinkering hobby that I love. I am strong considering buying a second One just for the convenience of having the multiple bits going and not having to stop & change things out. I only say this cause I think this highly of this lil beast.

It worked perfectly for my project. Easy to move around and great power.

Excellent power for a compact router. I have three other brands of compact routers and none compare to the power of the Milwaukee even the electrics! When using the smaller base, it is convenient for routing edge profiles. When equipped with the larger base, it is great for spanning large openings or cutting dados on a jig. I plan on getting the plunge base for sign work but right now it costs as much as the router. I’ll have to wait until they come down in price.

Start off with praise to the vendor. I bought one of these a couple months ago for a small project that I didn’t want to have to use my big router for, and it worked great until it stopped working mid cut. I was able to turn it enough by hand to make it work again, but I think a propeller or something broke inside the motor housing and it makes an atrocious noise. Seller was quick and easy to talk to about processing a warranty or refund.
Ended up getting another one. I’ll keep the somewhat broken one for maybe less than ideal situations (outside/rain?) and use the new one for everything else.
To the router itself, this thing is impressive. Good power out of a battery, and surprisingly good battery life. I cut probably 100 linear feet of 3/8″ rabets and only dropped to half charge. Smooth cuts, and the option of which base plate to use is pretty nice depending on what your materials are.
The vacuum port is… mostly functional. It does a pretty good job catching most of the dust from the top side, but there’s always dust getting shot out from under the bit. Not much to do there. Definitely use the vacuum attachment. The biggest issue I ran into with the vac hose on it was the router became difficult to maneuver with the hose in place, as the hose would get caught on things or make the weight be off balance. Not a deal breaker, especially for a compact handheld router. I’ll just get a more flexible hose and put it over my shoulder when I cut in the future.
The next issue I have with the router is it’s just really fat. I’ve got relatively big hands, 6′ tall dude here, and the body of the router is just a bit too big to comfortably hold for more than a minute at a time. Routing lots and lots of small pieces or large pieces led to fatigue in my hand from trying to grip it with such a wide grip. This is one area that Makita really nailed with their compact router, it’s actually compact.
All in all it’s a great router, and the seller is solid.

This router has plenty of power for small router jobs, the fast start and stop is very nice. With the battery on the top it does feel very top heavy when routing horizontally, but that is to be expected. The only challenge I’m having with this router is the collet is extremely tight and makes it quite difficult to remove the router bit. Other than that, I love this thing.

Easy to use and adjust.

I’ve got a battery Makita I bought specifically for the small diameter base plate for one specific job. I like this Milwaukee better for two features for general use: The base plate is larger in diameter which generally adds stability, and the depth adjustment takes less fiddling to get a precise depth adjustment. Both are nice for small finish work.

Tiene mucha potencia, compacto y práctico para el trabajo, muy buena calidad excelente

Been eyeing this guy for years, finally pulled the trigger. I have a large 120v Bosch but it’s usually attached to my router table or sled so it’s annoying to set it up. I opted for this one as a small light weight quick option so the battery was nice also. Great combo to be able to leave the larger one where it is and have this one for quick set up and usage.

Great for those projects that need a quick and easy router. Nice to add to my tool chest.
