I used it once and now the bad battery light is flashing! This item is better to be bought in a store!

I know this isn’t really about the look, but I definitely like the look of the new B&D series. The black and orange look really makes things look very sharp and classy when compared to the previous look which was mostly just orange.
Anyway, the drill has worked great for me. It’s got plenty of power, and the clutch system works perfectly. The handle has a great rubber feel that is very comfortable, even when pushing down hard on a screw. The balance is really good when setting it down. I had another drill that, when you put it down, you really had to set it down slowly and carefully or else it would fall forward. This one has the drill part pushed back more so that the center of gravity is right over the middle of the battery, so it stays up better.
I can’t say much about the impact wrench attachment since I haven’t had a chance to use it all that much. From the times I have used it, it has worked like it should. Since it doesn’t have clutch on it, I’ve stripped out a couple bolts with it, but that’s my own fault, not the tool’s.
I really like the idea of the Matrix system, and am looking forward to getting some more of their attachments for other purposes.

The matrix system is great for people without space for a full workshop with tools. This combo driver/drill unit is the basis for a more complete set and the price for the combo is excellent. The 20-Volt battery pack gives it plenty of punch for a cordless device. The attachments snap on in a solid satisfying way
The default charging unit provided, as noted by other reviews, is slow to charge the unit, but that is how it is for all budget cordless tools! If you want a fast charger it will cost you a lot more (~$50). Personally, I’d rather have cheaper tools and the option to purchase another battery or a fast charger, than a really expensive tool package.
As it happens I bought the corded driver as well (Black & Decker BDEDMT Matrix AC Drill/Driver). For tasks where I don’t need to roam around I use the corded unit; this lets me save battery power for when I really need it. If the battery does happen to run out at an inconvenient moment I can usually dig out an extension cable carry on with the corded unit too …
This is not a “professional” tool — it will handle all your home and hobby needs, but it isn’t going to survive on a job site for very long. You will also have to get used to switching attachments while working; if you have some task that needs you to alternate between drill and driver then it is going to be pretty tedious compared to just having a dedicated drill and driver — if possible plan out your work to minimize this kind of switching.
It is really important to note the niche that this kit fulfills. Dedicated tools, even cheap ones, will probably beat the Matrix in terms functionality, but a full kit of power tools takes up a lot of space! I can get my matrix and all the attachments into a single toolbox which is for me super important. I have used my matrix for a bunch of home projects including building a gate out of hardwood, and I love it …
(Maybe one day I will have the space for a full workshop, but that day isn’t here yet)

My 10 year old Porter Cable driver, impact, and flashlight finally kicked the bucket and I was looking for a new solution. The only other driver in my kit was the Black+Decker “autosense” drill which I surprisingly came to love and highly recommend. On top of that I had a Black+Decker vacuum and flashlight that used the 20v battery. After considering the more costly brands, I came upon this matrix solution and was intrigued. I picked up the drill and impact combo for $100 on amazon and found an old craftsman hammer drill attachment in a bargain bin in a sears closeout. Now, for $130, I have a pretty decent hammer drill and impact driver that use my other 20v batteries. Looking forward to picking up some of the other attachments to round out the workshop. They seem to hold up too. I recently built a couple of walls (from framing through drywall) with the thing with zero hiccups. Good battery life, plenty of power. Only wish the handle had a battery meter like the autosense drill. I really hope Black + Decker keeps this solution around and continues to upgrade it, nothing else really like it on the market considering price/features/expandability.

Solo para trabajos ligeros,no tiene mucha potencia.

This tool is hands down the most versatile and useful tool I or anyone else with ever own and use. There is an attachment for every type of job a person could need this for with plenty of battery power and life. First the build quality is amazing and is able to fully shake the misconceived notion that Black and Decker is a cheap throw-away brand tool. The entire black parts of the body are a matte rubber and give you grip at any angle you hold it at. The ergonomics work with all the attatchments even though you might think they won’t, but they do. Such as the jigsaw and every other attachmen; it is able to give you more control and with the variable speed trigger the precision that is called for on more delicate work. The battery lasts for about 180 or so 1″ screws driven into untreated 2×4 or cutting 4 5’x5′ pieces of plywood every which way imaginable, which isn’t bad by a long shot. During all this the drill becomes slightly warm, but never burning up. The battery charging would be the only negative with it taking around 3 hours to fully charge, but that is not a deal-breaker with all these positives. It has lasted me through a whole year of mederate use from porches, to ramps, to cars, and many other around the house jobs. Overall this is the opportunity of a lifetime to have every tool you could need in one compact package at anytime the occasion calls.
