This was very difficult to figure out how to wire it. Yes it will do everything ut says. I just wish it would have come with better institutions. I once installed this thermostat works great. Looks good, and is compatible with both Google Home and Alexa. Only issue is if you’re replacing your antique thermostat with this order the “Nest” transformer and save yourself a lot of work. If you don’t need the transformer you can return easier then waiting for it.

Saved me from climbing on the roof. The long cord makes it easy to place and simple to hide.

My furnace does not have a C wire, so I was a little concerned about the Nest thermostat when I got it. However, it worked for more than a year until recently, there was a widespread internet glitch. The battery is totally drained.
I charged the nest by its USB port; however, it did not stay longer than a day.
I got this one, wire it in for 2 minutes. Everything is back to normal.

I have a 3rd hen Nest Thermostat that had been running low on power and losing wi-fi to my network and the sensors. I thought this might be the solution. I powered down and connected to the C and Rc ports and when I powered on..no power at all to the thermostat. Something is off with this unit or my system canโt use it. 3 stars since it apparently works for some. I may return it or try to find out why itโs not working.

Like many others, my Nest E (not a Learning) thermostat would lose its battery power every so often. This C wire power adapter was the perfect solution! Here are my connection suggestions if you only have two wires (red and white) that run from your boiler to the thermostat. 1) disconnect power to your boiler; 2) connect the white wire from your boiler into the W1 connector hole of your Nest E thermostat base; 3) connect *both* of the power adapter wires to the base of the thermostat — one wire into the R connector hole and the other wire into the C connector hole; 4) connect the red wire from your boiler into the R connector hole of your thermostat base. Note, the R connector hole of the thermostat base should be able to fit *both* the red wire from your boiler and one of the power adapter wire leads. Suggestion: Putting the power adapter wire in *before* inserting the red wire is easier than putting the red wire in first (SEE RELATED PICTURE); 5) Attach the thermostat display to its base; 6) Turn the power back on to your boiler and plug in the C wire power adapter. The thermostat should now recognize which wires are connected to it (SEE RELATED PICTURE). You can see in my “before/after” picture that my Nest E thermostat is getting constant power. BTW, my thermostat is in my living room and I was able to plug my power adapter into an outlet in my basement directly below the thermostat, thereby hiding it from view! I hope this helps.

After buying a wifi thermostat I learned that there was only a 4 wire in the wall. This was the alternative to running a whole new stat wire. Works great and saved a me a huge headache. Awesome !!!

No power to thermostat from this device.

We have tried connecting a C-wire and the Nest Power Connector to provide power to our Nest thermostat but neither solution worked with our system. The OnTech technician suggested this solution and it is working with our system. This is not the typical solution Google and/or Nest recommends but it solved our issue. It might work for someone else.
