Have you ever wanted to partner with a company to be part of their quality control team? Well today is your chance! Just hit Buy It Now! Want to figure out how to solve the manufacturing and design defect of a big gap between the plastic tip and the aluminum tube….? Stick some tape on it? Crookedly will do, of course.
Okay this flashlight is fun. I really really wanted to like this; the idea excellent. It’s great to have something that doesn’t look like a self defense tool to carry when you’re not sure if someone is a threat. It is perfect for those late night walks or trips out to the car.
Pros:
Intimidating sound when activated.
I haven’t tested the effectiveness other than a slight transmission of electricity through a leaf that I was trying it out on. It felt a bit like touching a horse’s electric fence for a moment.
Decently bright flashlight. About 100-200 lumens probably.
Cons… where do I begin?
My investigation and subsequent disappointment started when I noticed the tape at the top of the flashlight. At first I thought it was kind of like the cover on a new phone screen, but I discovered it was to cover up a manufacturing defect of a gap at the top of the flashlight.
I decided to try and close the gap by reseating the screws, so I removed those and found that the “connection” (shown in 3rd photo) to the taser electrodes is just wires pinched to stay in place. No solder… just wired haphazardly tucked.
Also those taser electrode poles (shown removed in the third photo) are able to be pulled out with your fingers if you tug on them. No adhesive was used.
Okay, this is all sketchy, but the back of the flashlight is somehow worse… some electronic components are just jammed in there and haphazardly soldered with connections that could easily come into contact with others with some jostling.
Oh, and to top it off you can’t replace the battery since it is the one thing that is glued in place. Which is unfortunate since it is likely to fail at some point… that is if the rest of the flashlight somehow survived that long.
Update on day 2 of owning this: the taser has completely stopped working. It has steadily decreased in power despite my attempts to charge it and it no longer functions. Yay for being a quality assurance partner! 🙂

As discribe in the advertising. Has a bright light, then swich to a dimmer one, then a blinding strobe light. Grood spark & loud cracking sound ( scares our dogs ). As suggested, we do a 4 hr weekly charge. Safety switch at the end of flashlight, when in the OFF position, prevents you from accidently pushing the button & shocking yourself.

This is a great little self defense product that I use when I’m alone in the dark. The flashlight is great and the stun sound should make for a pretty decent deterrent. No idea about the pain of the shock itself because, thank goodness, I haven’t had to use it. I will say it would be a bit difficult to get it into stun mode in a hurry and certainly in a scuffle. There are two switches that need to be in position as well as a button to press. Pros and cons to those safeguards, of course. Also, unless I’m missing something, the light has to be turned off to administer a shock. Not ideal if you’re fighting off an attack in the dark to have to turn your light off and defend yourself. Otherwise, a great product with a really cool concept. It’s not my first Sabre purchase and it won’t be my last.

I got it for its sheer power to stun. One of the most powerful you can find, especially given the price range. The sound itself is very frightening and should scare anyone thinking of confronting you. Easy to use and the safety features keep you from zapping yourself or anyone else you don’t want to shock. I do have a couple issues: it’s virually all plastic which makes it feel a bit cheap. The loop where the wristcstrapvattaches broke very quickly and under very low strain, so you can’t depend on that. The included belt holster is good to carry but is not the best design to get the unit in or out of. The flashlight though is strong and reliable, and the stun capability very good. Keep in mind the stun effect is for use in close quarters and in direct contact.

Good value for the money, comfortable in the hand with a nice tactile feel. There is an on/off switch as well as a 3 way switch (off being in the middle). With the on/off switch off, the flashlight still works but the stun gun won’t fire. This is a decent way to keep accidental discharges low. When the on/off switch is on, and you slide the 3 way switch to the stun gun…. I feel sorry for whoever would be on the receiving end of this device (provided you push the button).

bought several tazers ( am comparing 3)…
1. $9 Tactical Force Max Power for the “cheetah” teeth, and its light, and had a clip, and says 300 some lumens. This is my least favorite stun gun, it IS light, I keep it in my jeep. But the zap is weak, the flashlight is ok, and the clip comes off, there is no indicator light when charged.
2. $14 VIPERTEK VTS-979 – Great for my mom and wife because of the removable safety PIN, there really wasn’t a better option. They are both careful with things, so it will work fine. The front prong/pins are wobbly, and can break off through the plastic, if it were to fall. I would break it instantly because I rough with things. The flashlight is the weakest of the 3.
3. $25 SABRE Tactical Stun Gun – by far the most understated. My favorite…10 times more powerful than tactical force, sturdy built, it will not break if dropped. The flashlight says 120 lumens…but it is brighter than the 300 lumen tactical force, it has a REAL belt clip. It would drop someone for sure. I will be using this the most. I still might not get this for my wife, because of the lack of a safety pin.
I also really liked the $25 Viper VST 989 (not pictured/listed) – for my dad. Weak flashlight, great for someone who can wield it, without a
safety pin.
I spent hours comparing for my christmas gift ideas… Thought this would help someone.
