Retains all of the functionality of previous 84-series
USB micro cable included for charging and digital link (for adding and viewing programs, exporting and
importing data sets etc)
COLOR SCREEN! This is the big one. Aside from being a massive aesthetic improvement, this really makes
multi-function graphs easier to work with. The screen has adjustable brightness and at its max setting
is more than bright enough for any indoor use. This screen works perfect in dark or dim areas without
having to be constantly turning and tilting the calculator to get the right viewing angle like the old
LCD’s
User-friendly(er) functions. I believe TI calls this math-print, meaning it has graphical symbols that make
it more obvious where to input the argument to functions. At first I was underwhelmed by this idea,
but having used it quite a bit now with summation, integral and derivative functions, I have come
around to the opinion that it is quite a nice enhancement.
Rechargeable battery via USB cable.
Thinner, lighter, more modern appearance.
I was honestly a bit disappointed that it was not faster at plotting than it is, but it is a significant improvement over the older models. It also does not add anything in the way of symbolic evaluation of expressions, so don’t think you are going to use it to find all your integrals and derivatives. However, it does compute them numerically, which you can use to validate any solution you find through your own symbolic evaluation.
If you are going into STEM career, you are going to need a graphing calculator. By the time you graduate you will know this calculator like the back of your hand. Although it’s really not an earth-shattering improvement over a calculator you could pick up for 30 bucks at your local pawn shop, the small things make a big difference when you are talking about something you use that much.

I got as I started precalculus and need it later for calculus. I started actually reading the manual and discovered the periodic table and all these other apps within in and I use this more for chemistry than math now. I love this calculator, the color is super cool, the colored screen is bright and clear to read, the battery lasts a long time, and much more. I actually think it is worth the money now that I know more how it functions.

I know there are some discrepancies about whether or not the product has PYTHON. I went ahead ordered it hoping it did and mine came with python!!! I’ve only had it for a couple days so I cannot speak to everything about it, but the PYTHON feature is such a nice thing.
It also came woth an activation key for a 4 year subscription for TI 84 Plus CE online calculator.
It has been 14 years aince I bought my last graphing calculator and this is such a noce and sleek improvement. Much lighter and the colored screen make a huge difference. I like that it is rechargeable and connects to my PC. I can tell ots going to take some getting used to, but it seems to be worth thr upgrade. (For reference, I still have my TI 84 plus silver edition). I will update this post if I encounter any issues.
