I’ve been using this tool for a few weeks now. I am very impressed with its mix of tools in a mid-size multi-tool. It has everything you need, and doesn’t have things you don’t. I echo another reviewer’s comments about the mini-saw and the pretty useless scissors: I’ll gladly trade those off for the package opener, which is a great tool you never knew you needed. I really like that the knife is available for use without opening the tool; I have an older Leatherman that has the design where you have to open the tool to use the knife. The Rev design is much much better in this regard. Overall, no complaints. Very happy with the purchase.

White collar workers, blue collar workers. Everyone should carry a multitool. Itโs a toolbox in your pocket. There is no debate. Consistent quality. Leatherman is the standard. .

Got this for an extra birthday gift after my son mentioned that he was always losing these multi- tool and he always needs them. Spent time reading the reviews and decided to go with this one even though it didnโt have the leather case. Well it does have a heavy duty rip stop nylon sheath and he loved the quality of the tools! He liked the size of it and ease of using the tools. Definitely recommend it from his opinion.

One side of the pliers nose pushed through the side when using the philips screwdriver on jammed.
I disassembled with 2 #10 torx and fixed it.
Not as robust ass it should be for a Leatherman.

I was looking for something to replace my Leatherman sidekick. The Rev did not disappoint it has everything I need to carry with me in one tool. My only wish would have been that the pliers were spring assist but otherwise everything else is great.
Strangedos –
I bought this for my fiance who can’t carry regular pocket knives easily at her job and she uses it every day. A good entry level Leatherman. Very sturdy. My only issue is that if you don’t pay attention you can pinch your fingers with it while operating the plier function.

I purchased this mutitool because it came with a pocket clip. I’m not a fan of sheaths or those lil pouch things. It doesn’t work when u already have a tool belt on all day.
So this tool had a clip.
I had purchased another multi-tool for 20$ , very nice tool also. Works very well , but it was heavy , I could feel it hanging in my pocket all day. I work in trades.
So these kind tools come in handy , but are better when they are lightweight.
Now the this LM Rev is light weight & compact, its got manly everything I need for a day to day basis. Its a great tool , well built as always I would say. I’ve never gotten a bad tool from LM.
Its sturdy & thickness is just right.
Fits in pocket nice & most important its lightweight.
The only down side I think is the fact that the pliers are not spring loaded. Manual.
But I didn’t knock any stars off for that.
Not that important to me really.
Just a nice touch when springs are added.
Over all I believe I spent my money well.
It was on sale when I purchased it.
60$ I believe.
So a good buy , for a great tool.
The Rev is excellent for me.
Now that being said.
I am going to mention that new laws in Canada about knives because I was unaware till recently, I am a collector of knives.
This tool is most likely going to be illegal, for u to have anywhere other then ur work.
So if u work in a factory or in trades its ok for work. ( I believe) ..
It has a locking blade.
That has become illegal here now.
Covid-19 has done a number on our way of thinking here. The government is trying control everything now , we had a shooting a few months ago. Very tragic, my heart & prays go to the family’s that were affected by this incident.
But that sparked a change here.
Will it go back to normal someday , ( Hopefully)
U are allowed to use knives & guns hunting.
That hasn’t changed. Hiking In wooded areas where u could be attacked by a wild animal is also allowed & camping , But not ur local mall or public places.
But don’t be in public or go to the grocery store with a knife in ur pocket , especially any knife that has a locking blade or thumb stud or can be opened one handed & locks.
If u scare someone & u don’t even have to be threatening someone , just a person seeing u use it to open a box or package could get u in trouble. The blade can not lock or be opened one handed. Its considered a weapon.
Not a box cutter.
If u are stopped by a policeman u will need to explain why u have it. I hope u have a good reason for having it on u.
Don’t use the self-defense notion. It won’t work & u will be arrested.
In Canada we are not allowed to use knifes as self-defense weapons. Its illegal here.
Just keep that in mind Canadians.
Were not Americans.
I wish we did have some of there laws but we don’t.
( Example ) – I got a Gerber knife at Canadian tire store , legal sale & purchase as I am over 18 unfortunately.
Its a beautiful knife set of 2. One smaller & a bigger model. There illegal now even thou I purchased them legally in one of our stores.
Because I can open it with one hand & it has a thumb stud & it locks. This model has a frame lock. Illegal now to carry outside of my house in any public place.
As I am a collector I can own them , but they can’t leave my house.
So just keep that in mind anyone who is a knife person.
I believe the only knife u can actually carry here in ur pocket at anytime is a SAK ( Swiss Army ) .
Its a slip joint & doesn’t lock.
Its a tool more then a knife.
Emergency tool basically.
Mcgiver was popular here when I was a kid.
U can do anything with a SAK knife.
Amazon thx u. 5โญ
LM the Rev is a great tool. 5โญ
U make great products. ๐

I got the Rev because I wasn’t sure about the Wave. This is my first multi tool since my cheapo swiss from when I was a kid, and I’ve been missing out. This has been my go-to tool for nearly all situations, and I almost never leave home without on my pocket.
I just bought a 2nd Rev for my nephew, and I’m confident it should last his lifetime. The tool is sturdie, and the pliers have so many use cases.
I do have a few issues with the Rev, but they can all be fixed. The tool is extremely tight. I added some oil to the joints and spent a couple of days opening and closing the tool to wear in the hinges. I also took some sand paper and a file to the flathead screw driver (it was way too thick and couldn’t get it into most screws I needed the tool for.
2 warnings, like with all pliers, if you’re holding the tool wrong you will pinch your skin, and y’ouch it hurts. Also, and a bit annoyingly so, the tools opposite the screwdrivers the hook and can opener are very sharp and will get your finger if you don’t open it correctly.
I’ve had my multi tool for 4 years and though I use it several times a day of most weeks, the blade is sharp, the hinges are strong and loose enough to open with one hand, and it’s been nearly perfect.

Very compact, heavy duty for itโs size, fits in pocket, also has pocket clip, sharpest hollow ground blade I ever saw on a multi tool!
