These BB work well but they are not as durable as some more high dollar BB. They work well with the cinch system cranks and come with plenty of spacers.

The BB was easy to install and worked well for a few months. After 6 months of use the non drive side is creaking under load.

If youโ€™re picking this up on Amazon, youโ€™re probably planning to install it yourself to save some cash. So hereโ€™s my advice: Make sure youโ€™ve got the right toolsโ€”or at least the right friends who do.

A couple of things to note: The two bearing ends come with a connector sleeve, but if youโ€™re riding a 2017 Santa Cruz Hightower CC, that sleeve isnโ€™t going to work for you. It actually increases the coefficient of friction, even if you slather on Park Toolโ€™s blue grease and make sure you use a decent amount of Park Blue Grease.

When it comes to torque, aim for 35-50Nm, depending on your weight. At 240lbs, I went with 50Nm for extra security.

For the non-drive side, I ended up using one of the provided spacers. A quick tip: after installation, check your chain alignment in both the lowest and highest gears. If itโ€™s too far off to one side, itโ€™ll be obvious when you look down the chainโ€”itโ€™ll look way off-center. If you find you need that spacer, youโ€™ll have to pull the bearings out, add the spacer inside the bearing, and then tighten it all back up. I recommend starting with the non-drive side to avoid messing with your drivetrainโ€™s geometry.

Last Tip: Remember to use anti-seize white paste on the connection point at the drive side.

Also, my last BB [same model] lasted me 5+ years of decent use – the BB is pretty solid IF you install it and lube it correctly

I’ve had a few of these bottom brackets with cinch cranks. although i like the cranks raceface makes, these bottom brackets are bottom of the barrel quality. First one started making noise 300 miles in on the non drive side and then after about another 300 the noise got to a point where i had to try and repack it with grease unsuccessfully. Second one i bought ended up lasting about 4 small rides before it started creaking badly on the non drive side. I don’t really know if it’s a me problem, but nonetheless these bottom brackets have sucked for me personally. I am going to buy the most expensive one i can find and hope it works for more than 300 miles cause that’s how this sport works.๐Ÿ‘
