I like the mount that came with the lock. Going to use this in tandem with my u lock and chain lock. Or perhaps snake it through the seat

I gave this Kryptonite Keeper Mini Folding Bike Lock a full five stars because everything that is described the manufacture is exactly what you get. This is not to say there aren’t better bike locks on the market but I felt I needed to judge this product as described. This lock contains a security rating of 4/10 (moderate security) which means this lock is intended for quick stops such as parking/locking it into the bike rack while you go into a restaurant for lunch. If you’re planning to store this at the same location outside every night, Kryptonite is recommending (and so do I) that you get one of their more secure bike locks.
I ride a Carbon Fiber Hybrid that has a total weight of no more than 23 lbs. My bicycle riding style is 20 to 40 miles on bike trails and country roads with minimal stops at city businesses. For my purposes, this lock fits my needs as I rarely leave it unintended for more than a few hours at busy locations. However, when I do stop and leave the bike on the bike rack I worry…because I haven’t always carried a bike lock with me.
My first impression was this lock is it a lot heavier than I expected despite it only being 1.25 lbs. In other words, this lock is heavy-duty in look, feel, and weight which should deter most people from stealing this bike unless they’re serious in the endeavor. However, for my bike this lock does increase he total weight by 5% which may not seem like a lot but when riding long distances an extra pound or two can affect the riding experience. Casual riders won’t notice the weight difference but for those of us that ride regularly it will take some adjusting to if not physically at least mentally.
I attached my bicycle to the seat tube braze-ons. I don’t know if I like there but I I have no other option as I prefer to have my water bottle available in arms reach and attached on the down-tube via the braze-ons there. There is a velcro option but I think overtime that velcro isn’t the best mounting solution.
Outside of wishing this folding bike lock was even lighter, I wish there was a combination lock option. The keys are fine but I don’t always takes my key ring with me on a bicycle ride. If I lost my keys during a ride that’s one hassle that could be avoided with a combination lock instead. Other than that, this is really a good product. If my review comes across more negative than intended, it’s only because I know serious riders are picky with what they bring or don’t bring with them on longer rides.

Nice, lightwieght and compact lock. I’m torn on the included bracket mounting to the water bottle mounts — on one hand, it’s quick and convenient for easy installation without having to mess with clamps/wraps, but at the same time, it takes away a mounting location for a water bottle. The rigid folding design feels strong, but can be slightly awkward to manipulate. I’m also still on the fence as to how I feel about a rigid lock passing through the wheel, and if it might damage a spoke if the rack isn’t secure, etc.
It does tuck nicely out of the way in the mount, and being rigid, doesn’t move around and tangle on things like a cable lock might.

Alles wie erwartet – solides, leichtes Schloss.

I’ve liked the idea of folding locks for a while. Their thick hardened bars are hard to cut through and a well-designed hinge can take quite a bit of force to break. I wasn’t a huge fan of the weight and awkward deployment of them though. The Keeper Mini is smaller, easier to handle, and easier to mount!
Now, to be clear Kryptonite’s folding locks are only rated for moderate security and I would suggest a bike of any value should be protected by more than one mechanism. I use the mini as my primary lock when my bike will remain close-by and a secondary lock to larger U-locks or chains when in higher traffic areas. One of the great things about folding locks – and especially the mini – is that it mounts to water bottle braze-ons and when the lock it is in the mount it does not move – unlike chains or cables that can flop around, make noise, and get in the way.
The mini doesn’t have a ton of usable length which means you may need to carefully position your bike very close to a rack or a pole. That is especially true with larger framed ebikes or when space is tight at the bike rack. Worst case, you should be able to lock most wheels to the frame and use another locking mechanism to secure the bike to the rack.
The Mini comes with two keys which are indistinguishable from other Kryptonite keys so if you have multiple Kyrptonite locks you’ll need a way to keep the keys straight. There is a sliding cover over the key-hole to keep out dirt and water. The cover is pushed out of the way when the key is inserted just beside the keyhole itself. I suppose it works well enough however you might want to take some extra care to lubricate the lock and sliding cover.
At the end of the day, the Keeper Mini is a compact lock that secures conveniently to my bike frame, doesn’t get in the way or make a lot of noise when riding, and is (just barely) long enough to secure my bike in the places I take it most. It is my ‘daily driver’ lock.

I like this lock because it is pretty compact and light for how secure it seems to be. Pretty cool design. It folds up quickly and easily and will tuck away on your bike without impeding you in any way. I do wish that it included more lengths, though. You don’t have much more room than grabbing the body and the tire, which in most cases it will be fine, but someone could carry the whole thing off and work on the lock later. I often times latch my frame and tire to my wife’s frame and tire, making it a carry off task only fit for a strong man….and of course if you find a bike rack proper, it will attach just fine to the post, but alas, more often than not, I am looking for a skinny tree.

very convenient, in case one needs to get some water refill from a store, or some quick run to the bathroom, during the course of riding.
