William McAndrew –
I used this tool to tighten this thing in my crank and it worked so that’s good I guess
Buttercup –
Looks to be a fine professional tool. Made of heavy gauge steel. Thought I will need it to replace my cup and cone bottom bracket, but after removal of the cranks come to found out it was so loose it came off with just my finger. LOL.

for ‘old style’ crank nut is ‘must’ to have boxed end wrench. on forth bicycle, old one, unfortunately it gets slightly damaged. may be defective wrench or i use extensive force trying to work with stuck crank. slightly hammered and metal got damages on inside closed wrench side. however, no damage on crank bolt. LOL.
will buy a new one as there is not much offers on the market for closed side thin wrench to repair old bikes. most likely i got defective by manufacturer wrench. happens.

This tool was indispensable for removing a stubborn bottom bracket. It was a tough job and the tool was more than up to the task. You can’t go wrong with Park Tools.
K. Mayer –
It worked perfectly. It is offically the right tool for the job. I was annoyed I couldn’t use a hack of some sort, but when I sucked it up and bought the tool, the bottom bracket came right now. I replaced it with a sealed cartridge unit and the 1991 Cannondale M500 rides again.
Matt H –
Absolutely wrecked my hands trying to use an adjustable crescent wrench to loosen the bottom bracket fixed cup for an old 1980s Schwinn World Sport. Just get the right tool and avoid making the same mistake I did. It came off in a snap with this. The right tool for the job is so satisfying to use and a lot less painful.

Converting to an ebike, changing or cleaning a crank set and you can’t get it apart? You’ll need this tool and a 2 washer+screw+nut combo to run thought the shaft to clamp the tool in place while working.
No off the shelf tool or local bike shop could get the job done and I couldn’t find anything else like it online at the time I purchased it. Most bikes I see on the road have the same 2 straights crankset nut and they act like a permanent fixture. Seriously, there are videos online called “Man vs. crank set” and don’t bother trying to cut it off, the best metal saw blades you can buy can cut the bike in half, as long as you cut around that nut.

I used this on my Schwinn Voyageur 11.8 with Sugino Maxy cranks and bottom bracket. Works fine. The adjustable cup does not line up with the pins on the spanner side of this tool. You need a separate pin spanner for that. My adjustable wrench is smaller and doesn’t give as much grip as this specialized tool so this is useful in that respect. As with all of the Park tools I own, this one is good quality and what I’d expect.
