Purchased this on 8-13-18. Very Nice, solidly built two bike rack holds up to 70lbs. The description is not clear; however; This bike rack (Model 302DN) is only made for the 1994-2018 Jeep Wranglers (JK), (not the 2018 JL as clearly stated), 2002-2009 Jeep Liberty’s and 1997-2006 Honda CRV’s which is on the back of the retail packaging. The Rack is very well built and easy assembly (using only a 7/16 driver, socket or wrench). It is highly recommend that you take your time inserting the set-up pins. They will scratch the powder coat badly (as seen in one of my pics) AND they can pinch your fingers. I recommend hold the rack against your chest firmly to insert. I did the other side this way and not scratch. It’s a great rack for the price!! Very well built and will works well. I will probably use some bungy cords and a lashing strap just to be safe, which I have done before in the past. Overkill is better than dropping your expensive bikes at 60mph. I hope this review is helpful for future buyers.

This rack was simple to put together and install. It fit right over the spare tire and latched under the door easily. The bikes mounted easily, it took me a try it two to get them on right. I was nervous about it on the 200 mile drive, constantly looking. I just knew the bikes were gonna fly off. They didn’t, and I didn’t hardly looked at them on the way home. They were safe and sound. And it’s a reasonable price to boot. I would recommend this.

I got this for my 98 honda CRV. I place it on the spare tire mounted on the back of the vehicle, and secure 2 mountain bikes on it. This rack puts a lot of weight on the spare tire and it start to slide off the side, especially if it’s rainy outside. Also the hooks always fall off the bottom no matter how tight I attempt to secure it to the back fender. Definitely keeps me worried as I drive. If you only have one bike and are driving less than 15 minutes, this could work for you. Otherwise I’d look for a more stable bike set up.

works on my RAV however had to take off the hard spare tire case and go to a fabric one. easy to attach and both bikes fit. we just havent worked out the locks yet as we can lock both bikes to the rack, but not enough left to put thru the spare tire which if the cover is on it you cannot do so need to figure that out AS i think if someone really wanted the bikes they can pull the rack off the tire and take it and the bikes with them SOOO we have not been able to leave them out of our sight.
i am 5’5″ and not able to lift my 30lb bike up onto the rack w/out working up a sweat 🙁

Der Fahrrad Träger für das Ersatzrad am Heck meines Fahrzeuges sitzt entgegen meiner Erwartungen total fest. Ich muss aber ergänzen, dass ich, um ganz sicher zu sein, dass der Träger nicht verrutscht, noch einen zusätzlichen Spanngurt um das Ersatzrad befestigt habe. Außerdem habe ich Glück, dass ich die beiden unteren Spanngurte durch die Ersatzrad Felge ziehen konnte, sodass zum Öffnen der Heckklappe der Träger nicht einmal z. Teil demontiert werden muss. Fazit: Für mich ein Top Fahrrad Träger für den schmalen Geldbeutel.

Este soporte para bicicletas es un gran producto. Fue relativamente fácil de armar y de colocar. Lo compré para una EcoSport 2018 y le quedó a la perfección. En cuanto a la colocación de la bicicleta batallé un poco porque se trataba de una de montaña, así que no tenía los espacios regulares en el cuadro para colocarla en el soporte, pero después de un poco de improvisación y ajustes se pudo colocar bien. Ya después de un par de veces, la colocación tanto del soporte como de la la bicicleta se hace muy rápidamente.
Algunos detalles a considerar:
– No la he probado con dos bicicletas, pero el soporte se ve bastante robusto y no creo que tenga problemas.
– La llanta trasera sobre la que coloqué el soporte no está completamente inflada, pero a pesar de eso se mantuvo firmemente en su lugar.
– Les recomiendo jugar con la configuración de las cintas que trae para darle más firmeza tanto al soporte como a la bicicleta. En el instructivo menciona que los sobrantes de la cinta se pueden usar para asegurar la llanta delantera, por ejemplo.
– Estoy pensando seriamente en comprar unas cintas adicionales para poder sujetar aún mejor y más rápido la bicicleta.
– El sensor de reversa es prácticamente inutilizable por obvias razones.
– Aunque la parte superior del soporte (las patas que descansan sobre la parte superior de la llanta) no hacen contacto con la carrocería de la puerta trasera, si les recomiendo colocar algún tipo de espuma o protección por si se llegara a desplazar al pasar algún tope alto, por ejemplo.
– El soporte una vez desmontado cabe perfectamente en la cajuela. Aunque no es pesado y no ocupa relativamente mucho espacio, si les limitará en gran medida la capacidad de almacenaje de la cajuela. Hay una versión de este soporte que permite que se pliegue y ocupe muy poco espacio, solo que es mucho más cara y fuera de eso ofrece básicamente las mismas funciones que este modelo.
