Good but not quite the superbly engineered item I’d expected.
Pros

– Hooks that latch onto your car bodywork could be kinder to the paint/bodywork of your car.
– My enduro bike doesn’t fit too well. Not the rack’s fault but things would have been easier if the frame straps had been a bit longer.
– the two arms that hold your bike/s are pretty wobbly and fill you with dread when you look in the rear view mirror every time you go over a bump.

This bike rack fit perfectly on to my 2015 VW GTI, I’m even able to fully open the hatch when the bikes aren’t on it. Make sure you know how it is to be fit on your car with correct strap position. Feels really stable while driving from slow to fast highway speeds. Fit my XL size hybrid bike and my wife’s XS mountain bike no problem. It is easy to setup, components feels of good quality, fits into a relatively small box for storage, love that the bars can fold down when the bikes aren’t on it. In my small cars case the wheels on the bikes make the profile of the car a couple inches wider on each side (from the tips of the mirrors) and this didn’t inhibit my ability to drive around with it, seems you subconsciously account for this space anyways without really needing to adjust your driving. This rack makes it so easy to just pop the bikes on and go to a new adventure.

I bought this bike rack for a Kia Niro EV. It fits quite neatly to the rear, but you have to be careful to wrap some of the straps around the rack first to get a 90-degree angle on the sides of the hatch that you are attaching the clips to. Also, carefully wrap and tie the loose hanging ends of the straps. If you do this the rack fits quite tightly to the rear of the car. One downside is that you cannot use the rear wiper with this rack installed. Nor did I find the instructions, which have various settings depending on your vehicle, to be accurate enough. However, it is fairly trivial to adjust the rack to give it the angles that do fit well. Another bonus of the rack, as the Kia is a short car, is that it provides a decent tie down point when you want to carry long kayaks, rowing shells, or other long items on your roof. Given the short distance between roof rack bars, having an additional tie down point well to the rear of the car provides good additional stability. I have safely carried a 24 foot racing kayak on the top of my Kia, using this system.

I chose the THULE 910XT for my Acura TL because I liked the fitting guide option that allowed me to verify that it would fit before purchase. I’m planning a 500 mile road trip in a week and that will be the true test for this bike rack.
For now, I’ve tested it locally. Mounted it this morning in just a few minutes. SHould be quicker/easier now that the straps are set to the needed lengths. The included directions are very clear and step by step. Fitting your vehicle is easy, the instructions include an index of cars by Make/Model and suggests the appropriate bar setting and where to hook the upper and lower straps.
So for local use, I must say this is perfect. It mounts firm and the bike movement is minimal with the use of a couple bungee cords to secure the front wheel to the bike frame. Add this to the fact that when you take the bungee cords and securing strap off, you can still open your trunk to store the cords when not in use. That is, the way it fits MY car, use of the trunk is uninhibited. SO for local use I have to give it 5 stars.
I’ve read some bike rack reviews expressing concern with leaving them mounted long term and having the pads melt onto the trunk. For tonight, I’ve left the rack attached and am giving it a 36 hour test in 90 degree temperatures.

Ok, This rack holds up. 75 mph for 500 miles and no worries at all. This rack is wonderful locally and on the interstate.
I’m going to try uploading a photo…we’ll see how that goes.

I don’t have anything to compare this product to but it works very well for me. I got it since it would work on my GMC Acadia as well as my wife’s Lexus SUV. Some of the straps were a little too long so I have cut these so that I don’t have to roll them up each time I mount the rack. I don’t leave it on the vehicle so every time I use the bikes I have to mount it. But it mounts rather quickly since I only loosen one strap so the others don’t need adjusted every time. The bikes sit close to each other but I use foam pipe insulators, cut to fit, on a few of the bike frame areas to protect them from rubbing. I also added some foam strips to the brace that fits against the vertical frame going down from the seat so that it would not scratch the bikes. This brace holds the bike from moving laterally.
My wife’s bike is a woman’s bike. What a pain that is! If you’re thinking about buying a bike for a woman, don’t bother thinking she needs a woman’s bike. It’s not like they wear long skirts to bike like they did years ago! Save yourself the trouble of needing a Swagman Bar Adapter and get her the men’s bike. You will be glad you did. Plus the woman’s bike doesn’t have the screw insert provisions for a water bottle or other accessories like a man’s bike. Just saying.

Dangerous
Within 30 minutes of travel we inspected our new bikes (one XL and one Medium). Upon immediate inspection we found one bike was hanging by one of its 3 straps. One of the straps was still attached to the arm of the Thule, while the other had fallen off during the trip. We were concerned that the bikes would have fallen on the highway and potentially hit a following car. We were able to make the bikes secure with the addition of 2 ratchet straps thanks to a local hardware store. To add insult to injury, we discovered the bikes rested on top of and scraped each other’s handlebar, seat post, top tube, and fork. The top tube scraped down to the aluminum on both bikes – we accepted this as being a compromise of the product and chose to tape over all the existing and potential contact points.
PREOWNED/Set Up:
We bought this product for a vacation. The box was beat up, lacked packaging materials and the 910XT itself had scuffs with a layer of dirt on it. Did not return the product as processing the order would have overlapped with our vacation. The 910XT did have all the necessary components and fit our trunk. There are very easy to follow videos you can watch for installation. If you do purchase this item, make sure to tape the metal hooks as they will scratch your car – we used electric tape and that appeared to prevent scratching.
Return Policy
For most of Amazon’s return policies, we find that there is a generous return period. This product is only able to be returned for 30 days – we missed the window while on vacation. We have now used the Thule for around 7 hours of travel. As it stands, the product is functional given our interventions of taping the metal hooks, anchoring the bikes to the Thule with ratchet straps, and taping our bikes. We have noticed the nubs on the Thule are bending and are in need of replacing.
