Couldn’t be more pleased with our purchase of matching Sea Eagle 300X inflatable kayaks! Every good review we read about them has been confirmed! The highlights (ranked in order of their importance to us):
    1. LIGHT WEIGHT- When inflated, we can even carry both kayaks from car to shore at the same time (we place them side by side and one of us lifts the two front handles, one in each hand, and the other lifts the back).
    2. SUPER STABLE ON WATER- In fact, you can even stand on the Sea Eagle without compromising much of its stability. The ultimate test was yesterday when we were trying to dock in the heavy wake left by a power boat that dashed by us (poor boating etiquette, yikes!) minutes earlier. I have bad knees, so getting off the kayak requires that I stand up and step onto the dock. Because of the waves, I lost my footing… and slipped backwards against the kayak’s pontoon on the water side! My mind flashed an image of the kayak tipping over and me falling head-first into the water, but the Sea Eagle remained as if “landed” — flat and stable on the water!
    3. EASY TO PACK. It takes little effort and time (about 15-20 minutes) to deflate and repack both. Once folded and packed in the provided carrier bags, they easily fit in our vehicle!
    4. VERY EASY TO INFLATE. It takes the two of us about 15 minutes max to unfold and inflate BOTH KAYAKS–and we use the regular pump (not the power one)!
    5. VERY EASY TO MANEUVER. Even without the rudder (which we forgot to pack the first time we went out!). We can even park them next to each other for a fun, on-the-water picnic.
    6. COMFORTABLE. Even without the seats (which we forgot to pack the third time we went out). As you can see, even when “senior moments” conspire against us, we enjoy our kayaks. (We now have a “TAKE WHEN KAYAKING” list, by the way.)

Can’t recommend the Sea Eagle SE300X kayaks any more highly!

We bought two Sea Eagle 300’s and haven’t looked back. They are a RELIEF from quarantine as we paddle around the local reservoir or rivers. We pack a lunch for longer days or just take drinks and snacks for those short ones. Sometimes we go out twice a day just because!
The boats are so sturdy, roomy, and easy to inflate and get into the water. The seats are soooo comfortable!
The only small problem we had is catching our fingernails/hands on the metal loops on each side of the boat. We got some boating gloves and that problem is solved! Maybe we are paddling incorrectly? It happened to me a few times so I mentioned it to my husband. He said he was experiencing it, too.
Watching the video on the Sea Eagle website for instructions and info was an excellent tool for us.
We have also experienced many people asking us about the kayaks – a lot of interest in them!

Let the hard boaters sneer while you have all the fun and convenience. Wow, inflatables have come a long way. Due to space constraints, we had to make the switch to inflatables. I expected a huge degradation in performance. Instead, I found I have more fun. No, they’re not quite as fast, but incredibly maneuverable and easy to setup/take down. I spin circles and lay back and tan my legs. Love the versatility. We paddle in rivers, bays, lakes and the ocean. They’re a blast in Class II-III whitewater and feel playful.

Quality and durability should be primary considerations in any inflatable and the Sea Eagle met and exceeded our initial expectations. Being able to easily carry the 30# “suitcase” to the waters edge is a dream compared to my 40# plastic kayak bumping into rocks and catching the wind. Even inflated, this is far easier to carry. And this won’t fill with water. Having a footbrace of some kind is highly recommended if you’re a strong paddler or are in more technical streams. We have the thigh brace straps for white water. This small package means we can transport both kayaks and our inflatable paddleboards easily. More fun for more people. Highly recommend.

This is the second inflatable kayak I have used and the first I purchased.

    Preemptive TLDR:
4 Stars – Buy the Kayak!

Pros – Great Inflatable for the price, has plenty of closable drain holes, there are D-rings for accessories like thigh straps, the seat is comfortable, the boat is durable, the pump is very nice and is tall, the bag is great and the boat will fit every time, the carry handles are very good quality, the removable dropstitch flooring makes drying the boat easy, the patch kit tube is nice and compact for easy storage on the water, the boat is light and easy to carry, there is plenty of storage space, the kayak is very maneuverable, and the instructions are very easy to read.

Cons – One seat fastener binds and does not completely close, the pump guage does not have a good reading for pumping up the sidewalls, the pump has difficulty standing up on its own, the drain plug caps cover the holes when they are open, I had to use pliers to open one of the plugs out of the box and slightly damaged it, and the paddle head pins do not fully lock into place on the handle.

    Short Novel Review:

For many years I used an Aire Tributary Strike 1 kayak on many rivers in Washington, Utah, and Idaho for white water. I was looking for a similar kayak for a better price point and the Sea Eagle 300x was highly recommended in most of the research articles I read/watched.

The kayak came in 2 boxes from the manufacturer and both arrived in good condition on the same day. All of the accessories advertised were included.

The high back seat appears to be hard when I first inspected it, but on the water it was very comfortable and does not interfere with paddling. The attached zipper bag on the seat is big enough to hold 4-5 plastic water bottles, the maintenance kit that came with the boat, and the pump hose. Three of the metal clips that attach the seat to the D-rings on the boat worked great, but the button on the fourth clip does not work well at all. It binds and does not close all the way. It does stay attached so I am not too worried about it.

The included pump has a built in pressure guage, filters in the handle (where the intake is), two hoses with different adapters, and a dual action/single action toggle lever. The whaletail design on the foot rest looks cool, but the pump has trouble standing on its own. The pressure guage is accurate and helps you pump the floor up to the right psi, but it does not have clear markings for the sidewall psi. I had to approximate the psi and the amount needed is barely off of the minimum reading. The 2 included hoses are great to have and the pump is tall enough to not hurt your back when you are done pumping up your boats or tubes.

The included repair kit comes in a nice vibrant orange tube and contained three different patch sheets, glue, an air nozzle wrench, and a spare hose adapter for a pump. The compact kit is easy to store on the kayak.

The Skeg seems to be sturdy and slides into place easily. A small locking plastic pin keeps it in place. I have not used it since I am mostly in white water.

The included paddle seems like a good backup paddle since it folds down into four pieces. The locking pins on the paddle heads I got do not fully spring into place. They catch enough to not rotate by hand, but I fear they might come unseated on the water if enough force is applied.

The instruction booklet is easy to read and has pictures. The pictures are low quality, but they get the job done. It is easy to see that the booklet was written by English speakers and the sequential steps and safety information sections are all easy to understand.

The kayak is made of a very thick material that looks to be very resistant to damage. I didn’t see any loose or missing hardware pieces. There are three sets of D-rings on the top of the side walls that all look very reinforced. There are also three sets of D-rings on the inner walls of the kayak for securing the dropstitch floor and for accessories. The elastic straps are good quality and actually hold things in place well. The carry handles are thick and don’t feel cheap. They won’t hurt your hands if you have to carry this thing fully loaded either. There are plenty of drain plugs and all but one were easy to open out of the box. One plug had to be opened with a wrench because it was tightened down extremely tight. The plug is now a little damaged, but it still works. I recommend not torquing the plugs down hard when you are done with them or you might have to use a tool to get them open also. The plugs do rest over the holes when they are open and sometimes that blocks the water from draining. I am really a fan of the labels around the air valves on the boat and the flooring. I know I will not remember the psi values come next spring, so having it printed around each valve is a very nice feature! Each valve works as they should and can lock into the closed and open positions.

The dropstitch floor is very nice and can become very rigid. This raised me up enough to not sit in water when the drain holes are open on flat water. I really like that it is removable in case it needs to be replaced in the future. Removing it also helps dry out the kayak after use.

This is a very high quality product that I can confidently recommend! I am very peticular about what I buy (if you can’t tell) and the usability of each feature or accessory is very important to me. The Sea Eagle 300x is a great inflatable kayak and has been fun to use and is very maneuverable on the water.

The kayak itself is 5 stars, but the some of the accessories included like the paddle and pump aren’t completely as usable as I would like. The binding seat clip and stuck drain plug also factor in to taking one star away.
