Can’t be charged from a standard USB-C cable. A bit of a joke they didn’t bother to follow the USB-C specifications in their design so you will need to carry a separate brick and cable just to charge these and can’t use your other usb-c chargers. Sloppy design.

The sound quality is not good. Even if the product was cheaper, the sound quality would still not be worth it. Also, when you plug in the device to charge, it is finicky and doesn’t charge easily. Also, for my Smith helmet, the charging port is on the wrong side. For the price I would expect a lot more. I will try a different brand for a while until they figure out their products.

I only got to use these a short time before I sustained a season-ending ski injury.

They worked fine. I had an issue with my XM app pausing whenever someone texted me, but that was more of a bug with the XM app.

I have had MANY sets of these wired and wireless. I like them because they are thinner than the other brands I have. But after a couple of years they 1) tuen off when it’s really cold 2) crackle when you’re going to fast 3) lose charge really fast. I have 3 sets of these currently. Not cheap and the wire in between the speakers is flimsy. Bummer because I like the buttons compared to the other brand I have.

They need to more clearly state in the description that you must use an older USB-A charger connected with a USB-A to USB-C charging cable. I recently found I couldn’t charge it. I tried several cables and couldn’t get it to charge. I gave up and ordered a different brand. Then, I read some old reviews that clarified why there was an issue. Perhaps for version 3.0, they’ll change this so it charges with more up-to-date cables and chargers. Sound quality is decent and deals well with cold conditions. But they need to fix the charging issue before I buy or recommend it again.

I bought a pair last November, and they failed in approximately one year (+) after only being charged three times. They have a one year warranty and claim inflexibility, but each rep I talked to offered me different options (i.e. a 10% vs 20% coupon) on something that was clearly IMHO a manufacturing defect that I simply didn’t detect because of the concept of a “ski season”. They simply don’t stand behind their product and I would strongly suggest searching for alternatives, it’s a workable product but don’t expect Outdoor Tech to back their product like many in the industry do.

Could not tell you if they are good or not because they won’t charge. Sounds a lot like a few other people who had the same problem over the last few months. Is this defective product just being sent out again after it is returned or is this really a consistent issue with these helmet speakers? I got green ones at a slight discount. I wonder why they were marked down? Going to return them and maybe just buy straight from the company. These do come highly recommended so maybe we worth another try.

Great, comfortable installation in the helmet. Sound could be a bit better because some of the bass is missing but maybe when going down the slopes it will be okay.

As an avid snowboarder, I’ve always sought ways to enhance my riding experience, and Outdoor Tech Chips 3.0 Bluetooth Snow Helmet Speakers have completely transformed the way I hit the slopes. These innovative speakers are not only stylish and easy to use, but they’ve also made me feel like I could win the X Games and the Olympics with their exceptional audio performance and seamless connectivity.

First and foremost, the sound quality of the Chips 3.0 speakers is simply outstanding. The crisp and immersive audio allows me to ride to the beat of my favorite tunes, instantly turning every run into a high-octane adrenaline rush. The speakers deliver powerful bass, clear mid-range tones, and sharp highs, ensuring that every note and beat resonates with precision. The sound quality is so impressive that it feels like I have my own personal soundtrack accompanying me as I carve through the snow.

The Bluetooth connectivity of the Chips 3.0 is seamless and hassle-free. Pairing them with my smartphone or any other Bluetooth-enabled device is a breeze, and the wireless range is impressive, allowing me to keep my phone safely tucked away in my pocket while enjoying uninterrupted music. The intuitive control buttons on the speakers themselves make it easy to adjust the volume, skip tracks, and answer calls without having to fumble with my phone or remove my gloves.

One of the standout features of the Chips 3.0 is their helmet compatibility. The speakers fit snugly and securely into the helmet earpads, providing a comfortable and streamlined design that doesn’t interfere with the helmet’s fit or safety. I appreciate that the speakers can be easily removed when not in use, allowing for convenient storage and transportation.

Another aspect that sets the Chips 3.0 apart is their durability and weather resistance. These speakers are designed to withstand the demanding conditions of snowboarding, from freezing temperatures to snow showers. I’ve taken them on countless powder-filled adventures, and they’ve held up remarkably well, proving to be reliable companions on the mountain.

In addition to their exceptional sound quality, the Chips 3.0 also feature a built-in microphone, enabling hands-free calls on the go. This convenient feature ensures that I never miss an important call while enjoying my time on the slopes. The microphone quality is excellent, delivering clear and intelligible conversations even in windy or noisy environments.

Overall, Outdoor Tech Chips 3.0 Bluetooth Snow Helmet Speakers have elevated my snowboarding experience to new heights. The immersive sound quality, seamless connectivity, and helmet compatibility make me feel like a professional athlete ready to conquer the X Games or the Olympics.
