I was so excited to receive this. I have a major iguana problem and have been using a Daisy Air Pump to take out the infestation. I am almost 60 so air pumping in between shots became exhausting…so I researched like crazy & landed on this beauty.
Sadly, right Outa the box I had problems. Taking the pellet cartridge out is not easy at all and continually keeps getting stuck. Watched YouTube videos to see what I was doing wrong…couldn’t figure so I thought maybe I needed better pellets. Nope, it still jammed. So then I purchased additional cartridges and one finally worked…for about 9 rounds. I wasted so much time and energy for something that was supposed to be easier than the Daisy. When I finally get it unstuck I try again and nothing happens when I pull the trigger! AHH. By this time the iguanas are laughing at me. I ordered Hornet rounds…and they fit better so I thought I had passed the point of aggravation but no.
Taking the butt off to replace the CO2 cartridges is also not as easy as in the videos. I never know when I grab it if it is going to work or not. Very frustrating because I really need it to work but I don’t have time to keep trying to figure out what is wrong or how to fix. So, now it just sits in the corner collecting dust and I am back to my Daisy Air Pump that has done the job with zero hassle.

UPDATE: Feb 20: OK, although I love the accuracy of this gun, after trying to use it on squirrels…..and the pellets literally bouncing off from about 40 feet….. I ended up sending it back. For a plinker its awesome, but that’s where it ends. If I can’t even kill a squirrel from 40 feet, it’s just a nice toy. I’m going to try a break barrel with more gusto, and see how that pans out.
UPDATE: 28 Jan 20: Today I was going to do a little plinking, only to find the C02 was empty (just installed new ones yesterday and only shot about 15 rounds). I replaced the caplets, only to hear a slight hissing when installed. I removed those, checked everything, oil the seal and the new C02 caplets, and installed them….. more hissing, and before I could even get a full magazine inserted, all the C02 was gone. After more then an hour of investigating, it appears there is a crack or break somewhere internally with the C02 system. I’ve run less then 1,000 rounds through it, so don’t know if it’s just happenstance, or poor quality. Luckily I’m still within the return period, so am sending it back for a replacement. I’ll run rounds through the next one and see if it does the same thing….. if so, I’ll have to return it for a refund and forget this gun.
UPDATE: VERY IMPORTANT TIP…. this rifle doesn’t give you much notice when the C02 is getting low…..just a strange sound….and a pellet lodged in the barrel! Not a big deal, just pull the magazine, and take a cleaning rod (of the correct diameter) down the barrel from the muzzle…..the pellet pushes out fairly easily…. then put in new C02, and off you go!
This is without a doubt the BEST pellet rifle I have ever owned or seen!! EXACT weight, look, and feel of an actual Ruger 10/22 rifle.
OK….. about it: It’s C02 operated, and takes TWO C02 cartridges at a time…. they go in under the butt plate, first one faces forward, second one faces rearward. The butt place has a built in wrench to open/close the gas plug. The rotary magazine is great! It’s so much fun…..you need to order extra mags (I did, and waiting for them to arrive.)
Out of the box I installed the scope mount/plate (not included/purchased separately), and an old Simmons 4×32 scope I had in the gun cabinet. I sighted it in, with only 6 rounds using Crosman Magnum Premier Domed Pellets, then settled in to see how it would do. (see photos) Super accurate, and even better….CONSISTENT accuracy! Usually specific guns prefer/shoot better with a given type/brand of ammo. This gun shoots whatever you feed it the same! (although I did find the accuracy was slight more consistent with the Crossman Premier domed pellets)
Seating depth when placing the pellets in the magazine is a BIG KEY to accuracy. So take your time and ensure you seat the pellets.
In recent weeks I have tried several air/C02 rifles, and this is the ONLY one that I consider accurate enough to keep! If you like/enjoy pellet rifles……THIS IS THE ONE TO GET!! Now….watch out all the squirrels and gophers around my place!!!! 🙂

You will get about fifty shots before you notice a drop in power but man is this thing fun nice tight groups if you pull the charge handle Everytime you will have a smoother trigger pull if not you just have a very sturdy trigger like 8lbs compared to maybe 3lbs if you charge it slapped a rail and a red dot sight on it and it’s a squirrel killing tack driver

I got this to kill pesky varmints ah ugh squirrels them darn things get into everything anyways about the gun itself.
This ruger 10/22 by umarex is the bees knees if you know what I mean I have an actual ruger 10/22 and the aesthetics are spot on I have to be careful and make sure I grab the right gun it’s so accurate.
Accuracy
It is highly accurate at about 40-45 yards and is deadly at 30 to 35 yards I’ve killed 4 squirrels so far and counting. I have purchased the 700 fps model not sure why you’d go with the slower one especially if you want to kill varmints with it.
The CO2
It does take 2 12g cartridges I have the Crosman brand but I’m sure any reputable brand would be good I use Formula 3 conditioner lube and rust preventer on the cartridge tips before inserting and it seems to work well. I have had issues where one cartridge will get stuck in the receiver and I have to bang on the stock pretty aggressively to get it to fall out this has happened 2 of the three times I’ve had to replace them which is why I give it 4 stars.
Get a Scope
I have the Simmons 3-9X32 on it and once you get it properly sighted it is highly accurate as long as the CO2 is fresh and by fresh I mean less than 30 rounds after 30 it starts to drop significantly. It took about 4 mags to get it sighted at the 30 yard mark I used a bore sight to get it close then shot a full mag to dial it in then cycled 30 rounds to verify it was a consistent group and from 30 yards it was a tight group all about a 1/2″ to an 1″ apart a little off from what I’d like but for the price of this gun I’ll take it. To mount the scope you will need a ruger 10/22 picatinny rail I’m using Monstrum and for the scope mounts I’m using Monstrum precision picatinny mounts.
Overall Summary
This is a really affordable and accurate pellet rifle it shoots very well and consistent without the scope I would be lost my eyes ain’t what they used to be.
Would I recommend this?
Absolutely whether you just want to plink with it or kill varmints it is well worth the investment.
